Well, if you're at (+3) most enemies in the Incarnate trials are only +1 to you. While controls aren't very effective against the AVs they can be quite useful against the swarms of other mobs that show up as well.

Quote:i think they're using some new code for costume piece exclusions and it's changed how some piece selections interact. The wedding tux uses a cape rig, so the new tailor coding resets and locks out all back piece selections with the wedding tux.The thing making me wonder if this is a bug, is that the wing option is still available with every other jacket...
When the think tank went live you couldn't select an aura with eye effects while the think tank is selected. In that case there's a workaround, but apparently not with wings and wedding tuxedo jacket. i think it's a bit overboard to lock out all back details with the jackets since wings are animated costume pieces like other limbs, not physX-based animations like capes, so they don't have the same performance hit as multiple cape rigs.
Ah well, looks i now have a bunch of costumes i can't edit or reuse anymore. -
Quote:Tuesday is normally patch day and there was no patch today anyway.Did TW drop today havent been home yet but i assume their was a patch so?
Also, Titan Weapons i'm pretty sure is a paid set, and additions to the store also happen on Tuesdays.
Short answer: no. -
Quote:And the end justifies the means. It would be a crime if CoH didn't win, so I just used supervoting to help prevent those other 2 criminal organizations from winning
It's only a few more steps to burning the village to save the village.
Not to mention the rules only apply to criminals, not the virtuous.
"You see, when the president does it it's not a crime." -
Quote:i voted. For CoH, of course.MMOGrinder is having a Superhero MMO Showdown, and City of Heroes is one of the three Super Hero MMOs you can vote for ChaosD1 to review for Episode 12.
So, Heroes (and Villains. And Praetorians. And Steelclaw.), get out and vote! -
So much for heroic, much less super, ethics.
But remember, any moral deviation no matter how large can be justified by telling yourself it was for the right reasons.
(Yes, i realize you're so moralistic about in game matters mostly because it gives you a change of pace from your real life; i'm just being silly.)

Quote:Probably whatever the highest-ranked, story lite entries in AE are that don't feature lots of ambushes. i've never paid mush attention to the double secret FOTM even though i do have an alt or two that occasionally farms for tickets when i want something in particular. With the nerf to ambush farms what are people using as farm mish these days?
Very occasionally i've joined a few farm teams to see what's popular. It might not be quite as effortless as starting a thread asking for the FOTM on the forums, but it is far more effective and reliable. -
Quote:i have never, ever, seen any of this happen personally.I mean, I love going into missions with my level 50(+3), fully IO'ed tank and get my *** handed to me by a level 50 minion, because its like I have not armor. Or to beat on a bad guy until I am out of endurance and only have every other hit actually count toward his hit points. You know the "not breaking the game" bugs that you wont even acknowledge that there are.
It might be worth mentioning that you are only ever 50(+3) during Incarnate trials, where every single enemy is 54 or higher.
Still, i have never seen my armors doing nothing, attacks doing no damage, or running out of endurance fighting a single even con (non AV) enemy on any of my tankers, ever.
Admittedly i only have one Tanker at level 50, but where does all that usually happen to you? Maybe i'm just not fighting in the right zones. -
Quote:*starts to call broker to change entire portfolio to companies that manufacture tinfoil and then belatedly realizes who the poster was*why would this not be avail. If it is not avail that does not make sense and is stupid. Sell it one more reason to burn PPs. It has to be for sale everything else is. Why not this. DOnt give me some stupid because were vets or cause we paid for a box etc...
Then this game is doomed. Every thing is on the table now. Its F2P thats the deal!
Uh, sure. Absolutely. Hold on while i get the nice burly men in scrubs to assist you with that. (Whatever the hell it is.) -

Quote:Woof. Woof woof, woof. Arf!Great, now this game is going to be City of German Shepherds. They'll be all anyone will make -- characters with German Shepherd pets! Thanks for destroying the game, CoH Devs!
500 points is a bit much for me to spend on a vanity pet. Assuming it goes on sale in the next few months i might buy it then.
Also, post 9999. -

i actually started a thread in player questions asking if others had noticed this, but hadn't posted any pictures. It's been brought to Zwill's attention, so there is that...

Quote:Could be. Healix started a thread about it in the Bugs forums with pictures here. Thanks. Not sure.
Maybe it's a new Super Powered Pilates?
(I'll be sure to pass this along, in case it's not already reported by QA). -
Quote:Would that also be the reason some of us are seeing very odd ragdolling of enemies? Things like heads and torsos twisting 180 when defeated and constant spasming and writhing until they fade out. Don't get me wrong, it is sort of funny, but it makes enemies look like they're made out of half inflated garbage bags about to blow away on a breeze.Apologies for not mentioning it in the OP.
We're still investigating it, but the current theory is that an update with the PhysX code is the culprit in this particular issue. Again, we're still digging through the code, so nothing concrete yet, but that's our current suspicion. -
Quote:To me it's not so much morbid as silly. When they twist and fold like that i just can't see them as anything but hollow, thin shells; not something with actual mass and substance. The old ragdoll gave a greater illusion of solidity.I'm seeing the crazy ragdolls, too. Started happening after the patch. I've got screenshots of heads that were rotated backwards, torsos that are twisted 180 degrees, etc. I've got shots of Freakshow that would make a Cirque du Soleil contortionist say
"oh, heck no!" then curl up in a fetal position... inside a small suitcase.
For me, it's morbid and funny. For others, it may just be morbid. In any case, I liked the old ragdoll effects better. I like the fact the devs updated to a newer version of PhysX (it's about time that part of my GeForce GTX 560 Ti saw some use), but it seems like some skeletal constraints got broke in the update.

Nope, ATI.
Quote:Heads on backwards, waists twisted 180 degrees around; it's pretty awful. -

Seriously, ever since Thursday's patch enemy ragdolling for me has been so over the top that they bend and twist in ways that literally make them look like they're half inflated toys, and then they just keep spastically twitching and shaking in impossibly contorted poses until they fade out. Has anyone else been seeing this?
-
It's known and somewhere on the "to be fixed" list. Hopefully soon, but i'm not sure it'll be in Tuesday's patch.

i was attacked by the Ambush Nerd in an AE mission. It was very frightening.

Hey, he had a big rock! -
Quote:I had my weekly call with the web ops team this afternoon.
- The random log out bug has been clearly defined to Seattle as something that needs to be addressed ASAP.
- The issues with the Hero Skin has been clearly defined as something that needs to be addressed ASAP.
- The cookie to flag you to log out due to inactivity is currently set to expire at 1 hour. This is, IMHO, a bit short. Originally, I had requested that the log out due to inactivity be set to 14 days. This caused some rather bad things to happen which resulted in the forums crashing over the weekend. We'll be setting it back to 8 hours soon. To be clear: If you are inactive on the forums for 8 hours you will be logged out.
More as I have it.
-ZQuote:The forums should expire your session, not log you out. Logging you out erases your "Remember Me" setting, making "Remember Me" worthless. If whatever hack they put into the boards to integrate with our authentication servers actually require a "logout" for some reason, remove the code that sets bbuserid and bbpassword to "deleted" or null and sets the expiry date into the past.
Jeez if they actually think they need to log people out, I guess I should make it a higher priority to write that proxy filter to axe those cookie deletes. Who knows what the forums are going to be sen next. -
Some really nice art in that gallery. i sort of wish they'd used the cargo escalator concept for the the Praetorian tech map stairs.
