Quote:i've seen a few versions on 4chan, but really if this link is to be believed Rule 34 was basically a stand alone joke that was later incorporated into a list. This seems fairly plausible since i myself have occasionally coined numbered rules like that without an actual list that they came from existing.I 2nd this.
Anyone got a list of these 'rules'? i only know 34 and Rule 63 is a rule of the internet that reads as follows: "For any given male character, there is a female version of that character." PM me the List or Link.
Anyway, here's the version of the list i've seen most often. There are many others. -

The problem is that you're basically wielding the weapon that you took from Romulus when you defeated him, and he doesn't wield anything but a broadsword.

Quote:That was really well written. i think that it would make a great in game explanation of the echo's presence.Mender Raphael stood quietly, looking out at the vista surrounding Ouroboros. To his left, the portal to the Echo of Galaxy City sat, faint and subtle vibrations of power rippling away from it and tingling past his senses. It flared quickly, and he sighed. The young hero, Galaxy Kid, had activated it yet again.
There was strength born of the Fall of Galaxy City. Galaxy Kid and others had taken up the cause, perhaps more motivated than those that had come before. The Menders could use that.
But suffering and pain came with that new strength, as well. The Menders had to do better. Some questioned why they had created the Echo. Not Raphael. For each who said the Echo was "wallowing in failure" he knew that were those that it helped - to ease the pain of loss or as a rallying cry to strive harder. It was necessary, however painful its lessons.
But for Raphael, it inspired fear - fear that there would be many more echoes before the Storm had passed...
Just as a random aside, Too Dark Park is one of my all time favorite albums. -

Quote:Let's see... ~69% end drain resistance for DA at 50 and ~103% for Elec at 50 on Scrappers/Brutes. Since my Scrapper running Dark Armor could pretty much ignore Sappers (and DA is supposed to be end heavy) then you should have no issues either even with less than 100% resistance.Yeah Mids is wrong, I solo on +8 and I can jump into a group of Malta and Sappers cannot drain me.
That said, i still see no reason not to go for it. -
Quote:i've had the characters using purchased sets being unavailable bug pop up a couple times. i've found that even just backing out to the server select screen and selecting the server again fixes it for me.That happened to me the day I bought TW (3 days ago). Created a toon with TW, got her to 5, chose another server and... I couldn't create another TW and my 3 Beam Rifle (which I bought when it was released) toons were locked.
Just logging out, closing the game and running it again solved it for me tho. -
Happy Holidays indeed. Except for the Jehovah's Witnesses who eschew all standard holiday celebrations. Everyone else have a great holiday. i hope the Jehovah's Witnesses have a great day-much-like-all-the-other-days instead.

Quote:Well the Rikti in their home dimension are nothing to laugh at. The only reason Primal Earth won the Rikti War is that they put up a big wall to keep the Rikti out.The Battalion (who are aliens, and inter-dimensional!) couldn't even beat the Rikti, so I'm sure we'll be fine when the Earthbound Rikti join our side for the asskicking extravaganza to end all time.
Also, nothing i've seen so far indicates the Battalion are any more interdimensional than any other faction or entity that appears in parallel dimensions. The natives of Rikti Earth fought their Earth's version of the Battalion. By that standard every character in CoH, the 5th Column, Marcus Cole, the Circle of Thorns, all the members of the Freedom Phalanx, the Freakshow, Nemesis, and almost every other thing in CoH is interdimensional. -

i want a chocobo as a Titan Weapon option.
Then i'd make a chocobo-themed character and try to challenge Cloud Strife clones to duels...
i wonder if God of the Chocobos is an available name? Not that it matters since we don't have a chocobo Titan Weapon.
Still, just imagine a giant chocobo smacking Cloud Strife around while wielding another chocobo as a weapon.
Edit: Rule 34 implies that someone somewhere has already done this in some fashion and is deriving bizarre gratification from it. -
Quote:A couple years ago my Katana/Dark Armor Scrapper and DM/Elec Brute would take on Malta and Carnies preferentially. They weren't slotted for increased drain resistance and never paid any particular attention to the Sappers and dying Carnies because even at the standard level of end drain resistance they were a non issue. Capping it probably won't do much but very slightly increase your total DPS in a mission with end drain heavy enemies.Still, I really can't think of any plausible situation where 100% end drain resistance would save you, but 90% wouldn't.
Still, i fully support achieving various edge cases of extreme performance even if it's almost never, ever relevant in actual play, so i think Ultimus should go for it. -

Quote:It's a good idea to read the info on set IOs, especially the procs. There are a fair number that have very prominent text that show up in the mouseover box that say something like: UNIQUE No more than one enhancement of this type can be slotted per build.Found it! I didn't know you could not slot more than 1 stealth. I actually have one slotted in Super Jump.
Thank you for the help everyone! Much appreciated.
The stealth procs are somewhat unusual since the exclusion applies to the stealth proc from other travel sets. -
Justice United is one of the busiest global channels in my list. By itself it tends to drown out the two Virtue channels i keep in the same tab. There's almost always people organizing stuff.

Quote:i, uh, i fail to see what that has to do with the core game, or even the game in particular, at all. i'd say "welcome to the world of material things where some of the things are jerks no matter where you go", but i suppose there's no need to restate the obvious.I remember getting kicked from a BAF trial just before NS and Seige went down just because some jerk disagreed with me, that changed the game for me - and my subscription.
A few changes to the core game that stood out for me...
1. Doors in missions that can be opened.
2. Ragdolling.
3. DR&ED&IOs. (In a good way.)
4. Side switching.
5. Power customization.
i'm sure i could think of many more, but that's what immediately came to mind.
Edit: After a little thought (and sleep) it occurred to me that supersidekicking really should have been number one. i hated having to juggle sidekicks to put together a viable team. -

Quote:To me this sums up the essentials of why the thread's premise is superficial, shortsighted and narrowminded. Later posts reinforced that studying history is useless if you refuse to allow it to broaden your perspective or even learn from studying history. (Or the present.) i really wish that had come as a surprise, but extolling jingoism as a virtue basically confirms that there is nothing useful there.Sturgeon's Law.
I'm really not sure what else to say to this. Most movies have always been terrible. It's only the good ones that stand the test of time. So yeah, if you compare only the old movies that anyone cares about enough to still watch or remember, to all of the new movies coming out, it will appear that movies today suck. Because you've already weeded out all the old movies that suck. That's just rose-tinted nostalgia. If you want to have an actual argument, compare the ENTIRE list of movies that came out in some 5-year period to all the movies in the last 5 years.
The recent TRON movie, by the way, although not great, is miles better than the original, in my opinion, having seen the original before the new one came out.
Some of the other posts are interesting, but i've come to realize that at least one poster has nothing to offer, except perhaps to serve as an object lesson: "Hey kids, this is ignorance by choice looks like. It's almost impossible to ameliorate and will happily advocate pain and suffering for anyone who differs with great pride and satisfaction. Try not to be like that."
Carry on. -

Quote:Well that's what i get for not double-checking the power list before posting.Siphon Life is a melee (Dark melee) attack - and Life Drain is in Dark Blast.
However, you do get both Soul Drain and Dark Consumption in Darkness Manipulation.
You could say i leaped to a conclusion...
