Braided Buns with the "youthful" head scale setting looks partially bald with bangs in front and braids hanging in the back. From the front it sort of looks like a Japanese haircut whose name i can't recall. Or a botched version of a European monk's tonsure.

Add a worthless power and destroy the servers. good job. i see my 30 bucks was well spent this monthi like you, you make a good bad example.
Ooh! Ooh! As the poster above me shows, the Dev Digest sometimes allows you to find out when your assumptions are wrong before you post and look like a tool*.
*Stanley wouldn't use the Dev Digest, but Parsons, aka Lord Hamster, would. Stanley is less than a quarter Parsons' mass and yet he's ten times the tool. Remember kids, read the Dev Digest and you might avoid being a tool like Stanley. -
Quote:You're new to this aren't you?I can't make up my mind which I like better.
The worthless walk power (the devs really have that much time on their hands) or the never ending Halloween crap.
Either one the question remains, why?
There's at least half a dozen threads where the new walk power, and how BAB found time to do it has been discussed and explained.
A quick browse of the Dev digest for posts by BAB in the past week or so would answer your (probably rhetorical) question.
Or, Johnny X, you could go play with your talking dog until something else that moves you to post occurs. (Please, no using your rectal flame powers in the forums. The regular flames stink enough.)
td;wra* version: the walk power is something BAB has been working on here and there for some time, since players have been requesting the ability to walk for over five years, and walking happened to make it into the last build.
*too dull; won't read anyway -
While the Devs won't be making making any additional packs for a given origin until they finish releasing one for each, they could release more themed costume packs that incorporate pieces you'd like to see. The Valkyrie pack and Wedding pack were released as non origin-specific packs and could be followed by an Age of Steam pack for all the steampunk/clockpunk/gaslight fantasy fans or something else entirely different before we get packs for the remaining origins, since none of them are tied into a specific origin.

Yeah, it wasn't due to am unexpected hardware failure at the server site or one of the intermediate hops. No, it was totally some guy sitting in an office at the site going, "I'm bored. Now what could I do to make things more interesting around here?"
Of course i was less than 1 second from either beating the boss of the mission or getting my *** kicked when it happened. We were both at barely more than slivers of health and i had clicked an attack just before the server went down. -
Quote:*sigh* Are you one of Jack's exes? i have never seen anyone so persistent about belittling, deriding and bad-mouthing someone, and everything they are involved with, as you are about Jack without a direct personal relationship being at the heart of it.Like a Jack-free-environment, not-working-with-Jack, no-longer-in-the-same-building-as-Jack, and no-longer-in-the-same-company-as-Jack?
Show me on the flowchart where the bad man touched your game. -
Quote:It's almost like a variant manifestation of the hero=specialist and villain=generalist paradigm.I would agree with all this - Empathy is less than stellar on full teams of 8. It shines both in superteams and on small 3-4 person teams, PuG or otherwise.
Its weird really, how the "heroic" Empathy set is all about choosing favourites for your buffs and leaving everyone else out in the cold, while the "villainous" counterpart Pain Domination applies its buffs much more evenly to the whole team. -

Quote:*sighs* *shakes head* i think you're wrong, but that's neither here nor there. Though i guess that designing an MMO that broke many previous MMO conventions and introduced capabilities and gameplay that had never been done before in an MMO is clearly a sign of game design laziness. As for teams breaking up and facing different foes all over the map, I've always thought that's how the game should be (but often isnt). <snip> Personally, I blame the devs for lazy game design, making it nearly impossible for this kind of thing to happen.
...
Hey, i happen to know of a new superhero MMO where this works so well that players rarely bother to team at all. i think that there are a number of issues* in the game currently, including the fact that i don't care for much of the art style, that make me reluctant to play it yet, but it sounds like it would be right up your alley.
*In my case it's mostly certain aspects of the powers balancing/design and interface design issues/teaming mechanics, but i'm not about to stop playing CoH even if i do eventually play the other game. -
Quote:A skilled player who knows how to use the character's powers effectively is the best supporter possible.all things you mention are not special enough.
like in the topic mentioned it should be special for ITF and there the best supporter which is possible
Other than that i'd go with what everyone else has already posted. -
Quote:i've always known it as 'Willy Pete'. i had no idea that Canucks and Brits used 'Wooly'. Learn something new every time someone posts in this thread, i guess.'Wooly Pete' is a term used by the Canadian and British (and, I assume, American) military. Comes from 'WP'--white phosphorus. Basically...I coulda just said 'nuke 'em' but that would have been way too clear. :P
Darzer--they call it 'Willy Pete' Stateside?
In fact, one of the supervillains in Adam Warren's 'Empowered' series, a 'fire elemental'/perverted murderous *******, is named Willy Pete as a reference to the heat of white phosphorus. He 'uses' his victims' eye sockets since bone takes a little longer to burn away. Prefers superhumans since their bodies are generally durable enough to last slightly longer. Not a very nice 'guy'. -
Quote:Actually, only people and similar scale objects get transported to the central pool. But that lacks the 'ewww' factor and thus should be ignored. Also, the pool obviously has some sort of filtration system considering the water is clear no matter how many people splash around in it. Probably it's drained to the waterfalls on the surrounding islands and refilled from the sea. Somewhere far enough away that all the people pooping off the edges don't affect it.Yeah but doesn't anything falling down towards the endless sea get teleported into the same communal pool at the center of the building which means there's no way of getting rid of it...
...eww...
Also, you can find a nice, unmarked lavatory behind a door on a platform underneath the main level of the time ship thingy. Being unmarked most people don't know it's there. -
Quote:i like to convert posts like this into simple logical proofs:Oh yay! Let the emo/godmodding RPs begin!
Now that poeple can walk the bad*** invincible peeps will start coming out of woodwork :P
If A=B
And B=C
Then A=Q
And there you have it. A totally logical conclusion. -

Quote:i rather like this. Y'know, at this point i'm rather curious about how you would've designed CoH if you'd been hired as the powers designer back before launch and known then what you know now. i expect it would be both familiar and quite different. i'd expect things like diminishing returns and ED to be built in, but have often wondered if they would follow the curve that was used, especially for ED.Frankly, if it was up to me, I would sooner eliminate all *non-KB* options than all the KB powers. In fact, knowing what I know now, in retrospect I would make all AoE damage deal knockback, and all powers above a certain DPA threshold deal mandatory knockback. That would be a deliberate shot across the bow of the efficiency police, and it would simultaneously resolve the problem with AoE balance in this game.
i bet the game systems would've been coded to be more flexible and simpler to modify if the current Dev team had also been on board back then knowing what is known now, but then hindsight is like that. -
Quote:Good questions.Which raises a good question... how will we be able to tell if someone's a rogue or vigilante and thus available for teaming? I suppose if there's a Brute standing in Talos it's obvious, but will the search results be able to search the Rogue Isles for available people? Will it only return rogues and vigilantes and not pure villains? Will I be able to see in my friends list if they're a rogue?
i'd be surprised if they hadn't already been considered by the Devs, but that doesn't mean it's all been determined yet. i suppose we can either hope a Dev reads this, knows the answer and is allowed to tell us, or someone can send a PM and hope the Dev knows the answer and is allowed to tell us. -
Quote:Right. Below is a shot of the concept art that was shown at Going Rogue. There were some shots of concept art for the demons at HeroCon. They look like nothing else in game. The best general description I can come up with is that they look animalistic, sort of like a cross between a flesh golem, a crocodile, and a gorilla. Oh, and they have skulls for heads. If the artwork of Desdemona and her demons is to scale though, the Assault Bot might finally have competition for "largest pet." The tier 3 demon looks absolutely massive.
It turns out the concept art is very similar to um... flesh golems? (IIRC one of the golems)... from Guild Wars, but apparently this is only concept art, the demons hadn't gotten to the modeling stage yet, and the final demons will not look exactly like this picture. However, they will apparently be similar, but more scaly. This is from Dev comments reported in assorted threads, but i leave it to someone more willing to search for the exact comment. Anyway, the above is the current concept art as of Hero Con. -
Quote:Maybe they added an "Enhancement Drops" tab?Was about to say, I thought when you check the info on an enemy, it has "Description" and "Salvage Drops" tabs, I don't remember there ever being an "Enhancement Drops" tab.
i know the salvage drops tab has been there for some time.
Will have to go look. -
*looks at Ares' signature*
i'm not sure i could have someone who wants 'win' as a slash command as a soulmate.
Talk about useless.
Yes, the 'I Win Button' is a useful Dev tool, but as a player it would make the game utterly pointless. -
Quote:Done.Hrm, I thought there was a thread on this subject, but only looked in the S&I forums. I put up a suggestion here for an alternate idea for Time Bomb. Feedback would be appreciated
