Quote:On the plus side that pop-up has made it possible for South Americans to acquire Going Rogue for their accounts. You can have 3 alignment tips or 5-Public Fame in tips. The morality mission is not a part of the 5 counting tips in a day, but they do count towards the 3 max you can have on your character at one time.
You can only get a morality mission if you have reached 10/10 on an alignment bar, and only if you own Going Rogue. If you get a morality mission drop while not having Going Rogue, you will get an annoying popup message asking you if you want to buy Going Rogue:

Quote:0.owhen do you think the devs will work on pvp again for all of us and the entire future of the product?
Who is this "all of us" you refer to in that sentence? The majority of players don't pvp, so you're obviously not talking about the playerbase as a whole. Not convinced that working on a feature that a rather small percentage of players use will be significant to the future of the product.
That said, i would like to see some changes made to pvp mechanics. Making pvp closer to pve again would be a nice change in my opinion. While i've never been a regular pvper i did like it more prior to the i13 mechanics. -
Quote:Months back in Beta i had tips dropping from level 1 Longbow when using Ouroboros on my Elec/Elec Dom to run Breakout and /bugged it then. i can only guess it's working as intended regardless of how the patch notes are phrased.I am guilty of having fun with this game in weird ways. For instance, I go to the ice crystal in my base, take the old Posi TF on my level 50 tank to get auto exemplared to lvl 15, then dont do the TF, but just run around Skyway beating up Trolls, Ogres, Calibans, Supas...because its fun.
But Im getting tips falling.
Thats my question. Should tips be falling from lvl 15 Calibans? I thought they had to be lvl 20 and higher? -

Because enemy hp and damage scales up even faster.

Quote:It seems to me that maybe the "grief" threshold is set lower or the triggering is faster than it used to be. Oddly enough i've recently noticed this much more at lower levels when player debuffs and defenses are weaker.Castle, could you have someone take a look at what triggers the "grief" flag? Because it seems to be tripping far more often and for far less reason than it used to. Example: I hit a random white conning minion in a mission spawn with the tier one and tier 2 Radiation Blast attacks, not enhanced for any debuff effects, and the mob promptly takes off for twenty minutes, running across the map and sometimes even exiting through the mission door. This happens whether I'm on a blaster, corruptor, or defender, and it happens around level twenty as much as it does around level 6.

Quote:i'd tend to guess the latter all things considered.Red Hulk also has total control over hte amount and placement of his body hair, so he just hides his 'stache until he's ready to turn back into General Ross. It makes it harder to know it was him.
Either that or it's a gaping plot hole left by the fact that Red Hulk's identity was pulled entirely out of the writers' ***es. -

Quote:Maybe it was created as the conceptual opposite of Ninja Run?Near as I can tell it doesn't work against ANYTHING. It turns you into a coal black figure and that seems to be all.
It takes ~5 seconds to activate
If you move, it stops
If you use ANY power it stops
If you get bumped by anything including one of your teammates it stops
If you move your mouse it stops (well, maybe not but if you move at ALL including simply rotating your character it stops)
And if by some miracle you don't drop it it will stop after 5 minutes. Frankly other than turning yourself black for a screenshot I can't see any use to it at all; it's even less useful than Walk, heretofore the poster child for useless powers.
Instead being a power that almost everyone finds useful, it's a power that almost everyone finds useless.
i know i've tried to make it useful, but even when using it for resting i'm usually almost back to full health and endurance by the time it takes effect.
As for patrols, well, if i know about a patrol far enough in advance to use it it's at least as easy to just move out of the patrol's path. Ambushes of course ignore its use entirely.
My wild, unfounded speculation is that there may be some mechanic/scenario in the upcoming Incarnate content that makes it useful.
Has anyone who chats with the Devs heard anything regarding what use this power is intended to have beyond being a particularly slow activating emote/visual effect? Arcanaville? Anyone? -

Quote:Interesting. Elevating her to the level of being a patron would not work with current game lore, but that doesn't mean they couldn't create some other whip-granting patron. How about making them into a Patron Pool or the equivalent for Desdemona? It's from her powerset, and that way you don't need a full set of nine powers.
Quote:The Living Hellfire animation has the whip wrap around a demon, so that part at least can be pulled off. -
Overlooked that.
*huh*
Was going to say that i've never had that issue myself, but then i remembered that i normally run Vent through my headset and CoX through the speakers, so i haven't had to deal with that issue. -
Quote:Somehow... i have doubts. Possibly slight, possibly niggling, possibly inconsequential doubts, but i have to say that about this particular detail i do have some doubts. If that's the case, then I have to assume that he's operating under the conditions Ping wanted it operated under.
As for the rest of the goings-on in this thread i really have nothing to say. i saw the incident that inspired this thread after the fact (was busy on a TF and not paying attention to the global chatter when it happened), but have no interest in getting involved.
Hell, i'm not even getting popcorn.
Hopefully those who can't see eye to eye will at least agree to attempt to play nice when it's some sort of public event that requires cooperation among players. Anything more than that is gravy.

Quote:Was it a particularly prurient typo?Strange. I submitted a typo as a bug and got the badge. Go figure.
Anyway, i had the "log in with Kalinda as a contact, self destruct in Precinct 5, click go to hospital, get sent to Mercy, bounced back to Nova Praetoria and be unable to finish tutorial" bug last week. Finally got a definitive answer Monday that there was no way to send me back to Precinct 5, so i'd just have to continue in Nova. Ah well, i wanted the Avid Reader badge, so i'll probably just remake him.
The other day i couldn't get Avid Reader apparently because the guy that gives it died in the Ghoul assault. At least after it was over he was nowhere to be found. -
Quote:Fire/FF Controller seems to be fairly rare and can be quite effective with a number of interesting synergies. The latter is more what I'm looking for, but if they are super uncommon and also good, then that's cool too. I just think a few of the "rare" ones named, are not so rare because they actually mesh nicely. They are just "rare" in comparison to like... Fire/Kin trollers. Haha!
i have an Earth/TA Controller in the 40's who is very effective at layering soft controls and debuffs to the point of neutering most enemies.
i've been considering trying an Elec/Rad Corruptor, and i don't recall seeing many of those or the Defender equivalent. -
Quote:Aren't there two sliders in the options menu that allow you to adjust the volume of game music and sounds? You're right, the game is pretty loud, but with Win 7 and Vista too (I think) you can open the volume mixer in your system tray and lower the CoH volume to a fraction of the system volume. This should leave other applications like Vent or TS at the 'normal' volume you'd like, while keeping CoH from shattering your eardrums.

Nyx Thorn is now 25 and a full hero.

Quote:The last time i read it he'd restarted it with most of the characters in an MMO. No idea where it's at now. i should go look it up.Same here. He started writing it again, then suddendly stopped just like he did last time.
On topic comment i meant to post and then forgot to add when reminded of Elf Only Inn: Love that mission briefing! Obviously i got too caught up in testing Praetoria, because many of the alignment missions are new to me, and they're all interesting and entertaining. -
Quote:Try using Villain EAT.Are Spiders/Crabs equally annoying, as the villain VEAT? What is the 'downside' to playing a Villain VEAT? (Or technically, a VEAT - Villain VEAT is repetitive.) Do VEATs populate your missions with nemises, the way Kheldians bring in Quantum thingys into missions?
Thanks.VEATs have no special enemies or any real downside besides being a bit squishy in the lower levels. Overall VEATs have generally been considered borderline OP by the midgame and just plain insane in the late game. Like HEATs they do best on teams, but VEATs do it by boosting the rest of the team.

Quote:i laughed so hard that tears were shed.Wasn't sure.
Anyway I've seen a petless bots/Traps in action.
Sit down kids, let me tell you the tale of Professor Freak.
Quote:The first AT that comes to mind is Crab. You don't really need fancy sets and Crab gets very good team defense buff and very good aoe and you don't need to buff your teammates. Just put on the toggles and GO GO GO.

Quote:Really, i'd rather that Toy Bat replaced Shadowy Presence. Especially if it made a 'Bwoing!' noise.Heh, I remember when I first saw the real numbers for the power several months ago. It's been on Live all that time, but obviously wasn't turned on.
So anyway, I hear you can look at it and do the [shadowy presence] thing and just stare at it. I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do. I assumed they wouldn't create a power that useless without a reason, so there had to be something to it. Maybe it would turn out to be a joke on all the people trying to get a sneak preview and that was just a fake power like Toy Bat. I assumed the real one would come with Going Rogue, since that seemed like the kind of joke our Devs would do.
But nope, it wasn't. -
Quote:"That's no exhaust port..."Although, repeating your evil plans is what all the best villains do - just look at Darth Sidious - the heroes destroyed his first gigantic battle station, so he just goes and builds and even bigger one with an even bigger exhaust port
