Agreed. If you want something to be private you shouldn't mention it on Facebook at all.

Quote:He's trying to do the respec in Imperial City, so it's a pretty good bet that he's not playing a HEAT or VEAT.What archetype were you trying to respec? I recall there used to be a bug with Kheldians where the Nova and Dwarf powers were available early for slotting. That is, if you slotted them before you actually picked them up, the respec would fail. I don't recall if this was fixed.

Quote:Oh, and then there's that. So far, David is my favourite guy on the Development team ever since BABs stopped posting. Rock on, dude!Quote:Yeah, where IS BaBs? It's a little worrying that the big guy's just upped and vanished >_>
Also: Davi... err, Noble Savage is awesome. -
Quote:i'd suggest also posting your question in the Technical Issues & Bugs section. There have been similar problems with respecs failing in the past, but this is a new one to me.So I'm trying to respec my character and I keep getting a failed message. I searched the forums and found nothing. Has anyone else encountered this or know why it happens? Its really getting irritating. I'm respecing at Studio 55 in Imperial City.
Thanks -
Quote:A good site to look at for info on the game is the Paragon Wiki.I just started the 7 day trial, and I have a noob question. I thought I saw a character with bat wings, yet I couldn't find them in the character design, any idea if they are available and what process I'd take to get them?
thanks
There's an entire page devoted to wings, and the costumes section has info on all the costume pieces in game.
Edit: Bah! Scooped again. That's what i get for deciding to completely rewrite my post and its links mid way through. -
Quote:i find them pretty respectable already.I wish vet reward powers would customizable and respectable.
If i had to choose between SoM and GSA i would usually take SoM, but most of the time i choose both since i can.
While none of the vet attacks are affected by damage buffs, they are also unaffected by damage debuffs, which is why even at the higher levels i will use them during Rage's crash. -
Jman, i think i see where you're going with this, and it makes total sense.
So your premise is that NCsoft told Cryptic to stop supporting CoX and go find something else (not tied to NCsoft) to go work on? "Hey, that game you made for us? It sucks, so why don't you go find something else to do while we wait and see if it goes belly up with minimal support. Maybe you should go see about making a directly competing product for a company that sued us the other year."
Sure, totally plausible. Certainly more plausible than Microsoft and Marvel thinking about hiring a company that had already made a successful superhero themed MMO to create a product for them. Edit: It certainly would have nothing to do with Emmert stating in interviews that he envisions Cryptic as an MMO factory that keeps cranking out new MMOs.
The fact that some time afterward NCsoft bought the rights to CoX and hired the skeletal team that had been left to work on it away from Cryptic and then proceeded to more than quadruple the Dev team certainly lends credence to the theory that NCsoft had demanded Emmert pull most of the staff off of CoX because they had panicked at the thought of having a successful Western MMO that was making them money and wanted to kill it before the revenue tempted them too much. Obviously by that point it was too late and despite their desire to avoid profitability they succumbed to the mysterious mindwarping effect of CoX and resigned themselves to investing in and getting money from it. -

Most are given out during *in-game* events or for online promotions. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the community digest for announcements.
-
This. None of the costume codes have ever been available for money from NCsoft, only from people who won some and resold them. Costume codes have always been given out as in-game events or as prizes for promotional contests online.

i somehow have the feeling that Noble Savage doesn't do interface and menu design/programming any more than BABs does powers design/programming.

i vote for option 1 where it won't significantly affect the sheen and coloring of the pieces. Option 2 for pieces that will look significantly different. Which is pretty much what NS said he would do, but i just wanted to make my position completely clear.
Although, for example, while the new Gladiator shoulders look fairly different from the originals, the originals were pretty fugly in terms of how the old textures blurred and distorted, so i didn't mourn the loss.
Giving the old pieces sharper, higher resolution textures is good. Upgrading/tweaking the geometry without changing the overall size or shape is also good. Anything more should be option 2. -

i'm making a new Scrapper themed around being an augmented/cybernetic kangaroo-themed android/cyborg. So basically the same old martial artist concept as every other MA using Scrapper, but i find it amusing anyway.
i've pretty much settled on Dark or Electric as a secondary to supply some additional AoE and utility. With either one i'll be going leaping pool, and probably a -KB IO or two, so really it comes down to which will synergize best with Martial Arts and later IO slotting.
Electric Armor is visually more thematic overall, but Dark's Oppressive Gloom could work well with Cobra Strike.
So, opinions or suggestions?

Pretty confident it generally won't make a difference. Most attacks/debuffs that don't accept accuracy are autohit, and the ones that don't automatically take effect usually have a % chance to take effect, which is not affected by accuracy.

Quote:There was problem with Snow Storm's visual effects being blinding a while back, but it was fixed over a year ago. Sounds to me like Cold Mastery got the old visually overwhelming version by mistake.Last night a friend and I were running a duo for the first time in a couple of weeks and mine was a lvl 41 Dual Pistols char that had picked up snow storm from the Cold Mastery epic set. Now the visual effect on the target seemed the same but the glow on the enemies that he inffected was enormous. To the point that my friend who was a tank literally could not see a thing while in the middle of a mob when snow storm was running. Even standing at the edge of the mob, which i did, meant almost total white out.
I've had this power before and certainly do not remember so much fog being generated. Is this new or have we both just never noticed how much there was before. And if it is new can it be changed back because not only is it distracting it was dangerous for me as the tank couldn't see any bad guys who peeled off to attack me. -
Quote:*Glances at the names while passing through Atlas Park to the RWZ*They already are that. That is how the global channels and email system see them. It's been like that for some time now.
There's nothing explicit about the naming change the devs offered that says that your global name has to be more visible than it is already. That goes for in chat and over character heads.
You wouldn't "be" XX@YY any more than you are already in the eyes of the game and global channels, and you wouldn't become that any more in the eyes of players. In fact, I'm fairly sure the devs would want to avoid that and keep it as invisible as it is now, which is to say, only mostly. The only visible change would likely be that in game emails would require "xx@yy" to send to a specific character or switch to "@yy" only.

"Oh, look i see Lord of Darkness next to Lord of Darkness, and next to them Captain Deathblade talking to Lord of Darkness about Good Samaritan who is trying to ignore them while chatting with Good Samaritan while Lord of Darkness is hovering over Lord of Darkness. Yup, same old, same old. It's like nothing changed with the J_B naming system. Awesome."
*announces a respec in broadcast*
"Hmmm, looks like Lord of Darkness wants to join, but Lord of Darkness isn't interested, and someone just shouted that you shouldn't invite Lord of darkness because he doesn't pay attention and causes frequent teamwipes. Guess i'll invite Lord of Darkness, but not Lord of Darkness." -
How does Tornado compare assuming it's used against a single target with KB protection?

Quote:"You" would think that "someone" who was "educated" at Harvard would "understand" the appropriate "use" of "quotation marks" and what "scare quotes" are and "why" they should only be "used" when truly appropriate.*Tell me, OP - how do *you* think these players from outside the US got access to the game? You appear to be implying something other than a purchase by them.
I can assure you that we have players from all over the globe (EU, including the UK and Bulgaria, Oceania, including Australia & NZ), all of whom purchased the game, who do not adversely affect the game's performance any more than those from Atlanta, GA, or Cambridge, MA.
In fact, there's a "blog" dedicated to unnecessary and inappropriate quotation marks. Still, i love the term "scare quotes".
*Okay, this is a lie. A fairly common degree from institutions like Harvard is the MBA, and the one thing i've learned from reading many memos and emails from CEOs and other high-ranking executives is that either literary proficiency isn't a part of the MBA curriculum, or that it's considered useless in the real world and forgotten or ignored within months of matriculating. Which worked much better several decades ago when almost everything was dictated to an assistant or rewritten by a secretary before being sent out. -
Yeah, like with Stalkers. They took away their... uh... you know... that thing that... uh... did stuff or something, but to placate the Stalker players they gave them a fear and tohit debuff AoE in AS and increased the chance of crits the more teammates that are near you. Now they only did that because of the nerf to... uh... you know... that Stalker AT thing that was nerfed at the same time. So i really see where you're coming from.

i like it.
Lefty's been idle for too long anyway. -

Quote:So investing the huge amount of resources to a make a new AT that only an incredibly tiny percentage of players will ever use? Now that's money well spent!I think that the veteran rewards should become more awesome as time goes on, and the months go on.
For example, would a 75 month veteran really need that bonus? :/
Bring more costume elite stuff into the equation.. =3.
Or maybe make an entire archtype only for veteran reward. -
Quote:i can only think of one RPer who had significant RP-related issues with the merge. Admittedly he was pretty vocal about it, but most RPers can separate out of character knowledge of game mechanics and in-character knowledge.Well they did merge the markets despite the wailing and gnashing of Rp'ers.....im guessing frozen dinners hell and hath in some sentence....
Sacrifice some Rpers today
But then again this was probably just you leaping at the chance to take a dig (no matter how tenuous the basis) at people who don't play just like you do. Good job.
