But if they're doing this for a U.S. game, made in the U.S. and owned by the U.S., they're agreeing to the laws we have here when they play a U.S. game, aren't they?
I don't know, I'm probably completely wrong. XD -
Ok, we all know about the RMT spam e-mails, and we all know the websites they're advertising. I would like to know something.
The EULA says that it's illegal to do RMT of any kind in this game. So, when you sign up, you're signing a contract that says you agree to this. Now, we have these websites that are made specifically for RMT. If there is a website made to deliberately break the rules and partake in illegal trade, why can't we just tell the authorities and have the website(s) shut down?
Editid cuz my grammer iz badd. -
[ QUOTE ]
Once you block incoming emails and the sellers find out they will start sending you /tells.
I don't see why you can't acknowledge this. If they can send email, they can send you /tells.
My opinion is: Let them send you emails. Separate the emails from friends and RMT by putting YOUR name or that player's name into the Subject. RMT usually put the website into the subject... Like Always.
Having the Devs not lock emails is saving tons of players from spam /tells.
[/ QUOTE ]
More than 75% of RMT spammers use Trial accounts. Trial accounts cannot send tells. They put this in because the RMT'ers were spamming with tells. Once they restricted trial accounts, the Spam tells quickly vanished. Then they switched to E-mail.
If we blocked E-mails from trial accounts, it would greatly reduce the spam messages players get. RMTers don't use real accounts, considering real accounts require 45$ for 3 months (I think that the lowest you can buy) and then they would get banned immediately.
So, I disagree with you. If we blocked E-mail from trial accounts, or put limitations of E-mails, the Spam would be greatly reduced. It wouldn't shift back to tells, unless they were really desperate for customers.

I came across a very entertaining chat sequence during one of Vernon von Grun's story arcs. The mission was to eradicate some Devouring Earth from an Arachnos base. In this base, there is a captive named "Becky, the Tarantula Mistress". The following is the Chat Sequence.
*Mob aggroed*
[Boulder]: Ah! Devour!
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: Like, Ohmigawd! Villain! We are so gonna totally rock now!
[Greater Devoured]: Devour not topic of discussion!
*Upon rescue*
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: Like, I have always SOOO wanted to meet you!
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: And now we can like, totally fight together and all sorts of stuff.
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: All the other Fortunatas were all TOTALLY like 'Tarantula Program? Eeew!'
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: And then they were like, 'Like, what are you thinking, Becky?'
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: And I was totally like 'I'll get to meet all kinds of interesting people and stuff.'
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: And look, here I am, like, totally fighting alongside YOU!
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: This is even better then when I worked with Silver Mantis.
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: She's, like, totally uptight, until you get to know her, y'know?
[Becky, the Tarantula Mistress]: But this is sooo much better than that.
I was laughing so hard during that mission, it was hilarious! -

You're over reacting. A lot.
And also wrong.
Great concept is important, I imagine thats why you picked the powers you picked, not for their effects but for their concept. So you'd pick origin for the same reason and live with the consequences. I really do not understand how this is even an issue it's like you guys are just opposed to new things being added to the game. Maybe you guys should just go play WoW. That way you can have a very clear goal to reach for, and an end game where every character has exactly the same gear or is reaching for the same gear. it might be mroe your style.
[/ QUOTE ]
Despite all the logic and reasoning we give to you, you simply respond with "BUT I WANT IT!!!"
Fine, have it your way. You can view everyone as wrong and you can firmly believe that you're right. You can cling to your idea forever, but it's never going to happen.
Thread over. -
Origins are most likely never going to change, as they are fine the way the are now. Origins do not need "Special Privileges" or anything like that. What happens to the Epic-Archtypes, who are forced to pick natural? That would mean that the Epics would be even less popular then they are now. What happens when my concept is being a mutant, but the mutant origin doesn't have the bonuses that I like? Concept is a very important thing to many players, including myself.
If anything, origin affects which groups you face. It doesn't force you, but if I'm a playing a magic character, I'll go and fight the Circle of Thorns or the Carnival of Shadows, because they drop Magic enhancements. If I'm a science Origin, I'll go fight Crey or the Council for Science enhancements. So, in a way, they slightly affect the gameplay. They do not need to have extra perks added, or special power pools. If such things were added, I can guarantee that about 40% of the population would be furious, and the other 60% would cry DOOOOOOOM!!! -
Ok, but still, with an outrageously long recharge and a side-effect of dying, wouldn't it make sense for it to do damage to everyone? It really defeats the purpose of blowing up before you die, only to miss everyone but that one minion.
-
I can't interpret this post... I'd would comment on it and possibly suggest improvements, but I seriously don't know what it is. /em confusion
-
Yeah, pretty much what the title says. Right now, SD is pretty laughable. It does above-average damage, yes, but only enough to kill an even-level minion, and bring an even-level lieutenant to 1/4 HP. Add that to very low Accuracy and insanely long recharge, SD to me is practically useless.
Plus, how does it make sense to *dodge* a gigantic explosion?? Come on. It's a friggin' huge *explosion*. It shouldn't hurt much to make it auto-hit. It takes an hour to recharge, and you die and become un-rezzable afterward, so I don't see a problem doing this.
Edited for spelling errors. -

Veteran power choice set...
Grow = The ability to grow to enormous size and be ridden by people in your group. And you're power gets a damage, defense and range multipliers, but lose accuracy and dodging?
[/ QUOTE ]
You are power gets stats multiplied?
Sorry, the whole Your/You're thing is a pet peeve of mine.
Plus, like you already said, such a powerset will most likely never happen. The current game engine is not compatible with shape-shifting. -
...That's *not* stoked about Going Rogue? For me, I see less pros and more cons. Like, if defenders make their way to villains, corruptors will most likely be ignored. People will prefer Tankers to Brutes. Am I just being overly-negative?
-
Pointless thread is pointless.

Actually, you *can* edit MA arcs and custom critters offline. Find where they are stored on your computer, and open them with notepad. Have fun trying to figure it all out though. XD
So, it's possible, just a lot harder than it is in-game. -
So, I got my Blood Widow to level 24 today (after only a week of soloing!) and jumped-shift to the Night Widow branch. But after doing a couple missions solo, something definitely doesn't seem right.
When I was a Blood Widow, I was soloing bosses fairly easy. All I needed was one purple inspiration and I would just go to town. But now it seems as a Night Widow, even after the critical hit with build up, I'm using two purples, and numerous greens. I'm also being sent into the orange/red HP level in regular groups. I never had this problem as a Blood Widow. All I did in the respec was swap Follow Up with Build Up and Foresight with Mask Presence.
My current night Widow build is as follows.

I really, really, really hope side-switching is NOT put in the game. The balance issues would be catastrophic, and certain AT's would be ignored, especially dominators. Everyone would bring their fire/kin red-side and dominators would be completely irrelevant.

For some reason, WMG (Warner Music Group) is banning any video with music from them. They originally had a contract with youtube to allow their music on the site, but they recently terminated it for who-knows-why.
Which is really frustrating considering most of my videos are me playing Guitar Hero. -

Yeah: the bit on 'keep it in perspective' really hit home. It's hard to keep in mind how good we have it 'here' where we can sit round all day and have fun (however 'qualified' you want to call it) on our favorite game---while others across the world fight every day just for basic necessities.

(NOTE: this story had some plot spoilers regarding the Circle of Thorns. Just a heads up.)
------------------------------------------------
Chapter One: Discovery
Sc0rn and his small group were sprinting towards the entrance of the cave, until they finally caught sight of the invaders: The Circle of Thorns. Suddenly, they were attacked by Circle Archers, and Sc0rn quickly ripped a chunk of rock from the ground as a shield. *plunk* *plunk* *plunk* The arrows hit the rock, leaving Sc0rn unharmed, but the same couldn't be said for his comrades. He hurled the chunk at the archers, ripping a small hole in their flank, and charged at them. He dealt a few punches, and the archers were down in no time.Sc0rn analyzed the battle in the large cave, and he spotted his friend, Muggnor in battle with two Life Mages.
"Sc0rn! Come help Muggnor" his friend shouted, trying to land a punch on the elusive Life Mage.
Scorn ran towards his friend, knocking down a few Guides and Archers on the way, when something blasted him down on his back. He got up and saw an Energy Mage with his staff pointed at Sc0rn, laughing. Sc0rn tried to recover from the blow, but the Mage simply blasted him again and laughed some more. Before the Mage could get out another blast, a Trollkin ran towards the Mage and tackled him to the ground. Seizing the opportunity, Sc0rn rose to his feet, and defeated the Energy Mage, then he proceeded to aid his friend, Muggnor.
Sc0rn finally reached his friend, and together they both pummeled the Life Mages into next week.
"Muggnor thank Sc0rn!" Muggnor said in his brutish voice. "Lets beat up magic dudes!"
"Agreed." replied Sc0rn.
They both ran towards the thick of battle, Muggnor brought up his Rock armor, and Sc0rn ripped up another chunk of boulder as a shield. When the battle finally looked to be in the Trolls favor, another explosion was heard, and many more Circle mages came pouring in. The Trolls were easily overpowered, and pretty soon it was only Sc0rn, Muggnor, and three other Trollkin, surrounded by about thirty Circle Mages.
"Kill them!" one of the Life Mages ordered. The archers raised their crossbows, when suddenly, a voice shouted from behind the Circles minons.
"Be still!" The voice came from a Madness mage within the crowd. "I sense something special in one of them."
The Archers held their crossbows up, but didn't fire. The Madness Mage slowly walked towards the Trolls, and circled them. He kept pacing around them, when he finally stopped in front of Sc0rn.
"This one has Mu blood! I can feel it!" The Mage shouted. "Take him to our hideout. You can kill the rest"
As soon as he said that, a guide from the circle walked up to Sc0rn, and hit him over the head with a large staff, knocking him out. Sc0rn fell over, and soon everything was black.
*******************
"... No, we shouldn't turn him over to Lilitu yet... There's a peculiar aura surrounding this one. Not just from the Mu blood... as if some great power was within him."
Sc0rn was finally starting to slip back into consciousness. He was lying on a cold rock floor, and could hear a conversation nearby. He got up and started to examine his surroundings.
He was lying in what looked like an underground temple. Massive statues and pillars were all around him, covered in runes and symbols. Flags were held up all over the place, with words written in an unreadable language. He then noticed three people standing a little far off from him, he recognized one of them as the Madness Mage that captured him, standing beside him were two other mages dressed in the same apparel, but one was colored Blue and the other Orange.
"Look, he's finally waking up." The Agony mage looked straight into Sc0rns eyes.
"Excellent! Now the Ritual can begin." The Ruin mage said with enthusiasm.
Sc0rn hands and feet were bound with enchanted shackles, preventing him from fighting back. The two mages lifted him off the ground and carried him into a small chamber. Once they rached the center of the room, they threw Sc0rn onto the ground. Sc0rn looked and saw that he was in a small circle with arcane symbols on the outside. The Symbols were glowing with an enchanting white aura, which seemed to dance in front of Sc0rns eyes. But he didn't have much time to look at the symbols, as he suddenly felt himself being lifted by an unknown
force. Soon he was surrounded by a strong green aura, and he felt as if his entire body was being stuck with needles on all sides. As much as the pain hurt however, he couldn't find the strength to speak.
As the ritual continued, the three Mages starting chanting an unintelligible language, and making several hand gestures. As soon as they started speaking, Sc0rn fell into a coma for the second time that day... everything went black... and all was silent...
*************************
when Sc0rn awoke from his coma, he looked and saw that he was lying in what seemed like a crystal prison, the entrance sealed with a magical barrier. He noticed he wasn't bound by the enchanted shackles anymore, but he still couldn't move, for the slightest action caused him great pain.
A few hours passed, and the pain was slowly subsiding. He could stand on his feet now, though it caused much pain. He slowly stumbled to the edge of the prison, and overheard a conversation between what sounded like his captor, and unknown voices.
"This is certainly a strange case. Though we tried the ritual, his body resisted the soul extraction. It's as if some greater force was denying our magic." He recognized this as the voice of the Madness mage that captured him. Soon after, another voice started yelling.
"We cannot allow any with Mu blood to survive! I don't care how many Magicians and supplies you need, I want that Trolls soul!" The unknown voice shouted. He definitely sounded angry. Another voice soon chimed in...
"Yes! Our master Lilitu cannot allow any to survive. You had better make this work, or it'll be on all of our heads!" The second voice said in a calmer tone.
"Fine, Fine! I will gather many more supplies and mages, I will extract his soul soon..." The madness mage said.
Sc0rn became uneasy at hearing this... he certainly didn't approve of having his soul stolen, and if it was anywhere near as painful as the first ritual, he couldn't allow it. He tried as best as he could to break the walls of the crystal prison, but to no avail. He approached the magical barrier guarding the entrance, and tried to break it, but it wouldn't be broken by brute force alone. He fell down and sat on the ground in frustration.
Many more hours passed. Sc0rn was weary, and suffering from intense hunger and thirst. Finally, he heard someone approaching, and soon, the magical barrier dropped. It was an Energy mage.
"Get up, you Oaf!" The Energy mage shouted. Sc0rn however, refused to budge.
"Don't make me say this again, as you will dearly regret it. Get up!!" The mage was getting very angry now, but Sc0rn still wouldn't move. He just sat there with hate brewing inside of him, when he replied to the mage...
"Make me." Sc0rn said, challenging the mage to do something.
At this comment the Energy Mage exploded with anger, and shot a red lightning bolt straight at Sc0rn. Sc0rn was awaiting the pain to come, but it never did. At this the Mage was furious, and grabbed Sc0rn by the throat. As soon as he did this however, he was literally shocked with an intense surge of electricity. This knocked him down, writhing in pain. With the Magical barrier down, and the Mage defenseless on the floor, Sc0rn took the chance as ran out of the Prison.
He kept running through the temple, trying to avoid being seen by anyone, until he finally caught sight of the exit. He was so relieved, and ran faster, until his feet came to an abrupt halt.
"Where do you think you're going?!" Sc0rn looked behind him to see a Force Mage with his staff pointed at him, he could feel the magic coming from the staff. The Force Mage slowly approached
Sc0rn, keeping his staff held up, but just out of Scorns reach.
"We need you for the ritual, you can't escape now." The Force Mage teased him. Sc0rn tried reaching for his staff, but just couldn't grab it. The Mage laughed at his attempts.
"Oh, you want this?" The mage said, laughing slightly as he did. "Fine, Take it!" At this he pushed the tip of the staff into Sc0rn hand, but was utterly surprised when a surge of electricity went up through the staff and shot the Mage back, freeing Sc0rn from his magic.
The Mage slowly rose to his feet. "You pathetic whelp! I will destroy you!" He rushed at Sc0rn, but Sc0rn simply gave him a punch in the gut, which rendered the Mage immobilized on the floor. Sc0rn immediately realized something... that last ritual performed left him with some strange power, zapping everyone who came in contact with him. Over the next few days, Sc0rn would discover how to use this power to its full potential.
End of Chapter One.

I think this one turned out pretty good. Hope you enjoy it. -
Well, considering the in-game description box is way too small for my overly-long stories, I shall write my Hero/Villain stories here. This is my first time attempting something like this, so be nice.
This is the background story of my main villain, Sc0rn: A SS/Elec brute who makes his home on the freedom server. Now, without further ado, let us begin!
A Life of Scorn
-----------------------------------------------------------
-Prologue-
Yelling, grunting, tests of strength and beating heroes... such is the life of The Trolls.
Deep beneath the hollows in a heavily fortified cavern stood Sc0rn, a Troll whose strength and prowess was only surpassed by Atta. His life wasn't a great one, with an Abusive father and drug addicted mother, Sc0rn joined the trolls as soon as he could, and never looked back. His new life here with the trolls wasn't the best thing to happen, but at least he could take out his never-ceasing rage on the do-gooders of society. Like all Trolls, Sc0rn had enormous strength and terrible horns. But there was one thing that set him apart from the rest of his brothers.
Sc0rn was a mutant, though the powers gained weren't that of most mutants. He couldn't hurl great Fire-Balls, and as much as he wished he could, he couldn't levitate and propel his enemies. What Sc0rn did have, was a resistance. Resistance to the negative side-effects of Superadine. With Superadine, he gained the same massive strength of the Trolls, but he didn't become dim-witted or speech-impaired like every other Trolls member. Due to this, he was considered a valuable asset to the Trolls. He was often charged with the Tactical work behind their raids against the outcasts, and always made sure his brothers had the
best advantage in battle with their hated rivals.
It was a calm day in the caverns, which is rare when you live with the Trolls. Many of his brethren were rough-housing with eachother, while some were showing off their might by smashing boulders into pebbles. Sc0rn just sat there on a stone, thinking of his past. He was always bullied in school, and his parents were of no help to him. Never supportive and never caring, always fighting with each other. While still sitting and thinking, he was approached by one of his most trusted friends in the Trolls, Muggnor.
Muggnor was a usual of the Trolls. He was a tall fellow, with tattered jeans and a tanktop. "What you doing, thinkin', when you can come fight with Muggnor!" His friend said as he stuck out his chest and did a Tarzan sort of gesture. "Not today, Muggnor." Sc0rn replied, his voice was silent, he was clearly wishing to be alone. Muggnor walked over and sat next to him, disappointed at the lack of activity. "What you thinkin' 'bout?" Muggnor asked. "My childhood..." Sc0rn sighed. He didn't really enjoy thinking about such things, but doing so made him more angry at normal society, and made his strength much more powerful when fighting the so-called "heroes" of Paragon City. "Ahh, me know how you feel. When you done thinkin', we can go out and smash stuff. That will make Sc0rn feel better." Replied Muggnor, and with that he patted Sc0rn on the back and left.
Nightfall was approaching, and at this pace, this would set a record for the longest time without any major conflicts. Sc0rn had gotten up, and was about to head towards his own little clearing for him to sleep, when suddenly, he heard a great crash in the distance that echoed throughout the caverns. After that it was inevitable that the sounds of battle were heard. Sc0rn quickly gathered some fellow Trolls, and ran towards the sound of the crash.
-------------------------------------------
Ok, so theres the Prologue. Just to introduce the Characters and set the tone for the Story. Yes I know its short, but again, its just the Prologue. The First chapter is coming next, and it should be much longer and in-depth. So be patient! I have a busy life, and writing stories is not as important compared to other things. -
