*Ahem* Speaking of ICQ, I just got it DJ and I have no clue how it works lol. So hit me up with your number handle thingie because I think your PM box is still full too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I got a PM from Lush asking me to pass my ICQ number to you. I'll do that tonight when I'm on my home machine. Whomever decided to limit our PM storage is a horrible, horrible person.

I have stuff to talk to you about as well, so it'll be good to open up that channel.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What I don't understand is how people fill up their PM boxes... I think I have *maybe* 50... o_รด

[edit: Creepy. I have 32 recieved and 18 sent. 50 on the dot...]

I see the name Epoch and all I think of is Chrono Trigger...... now you're taking me back. Ahh memories...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, that's not the first time I've heard someone say that. One of these days I'm gonna have to check this 'Chrono Trigger' out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats an old SNES game, a very good one at that. Come to think of it, it was the first RPG I really played to any signifigant degree. Really fun game. Ahh, the 'good ol days.'
  3. Your 'experiments' look aweseome to me. It's not fair I say! (Okay, it's perfectly fair because of all the time you put into art, but it doesn't mean I can't look at your skill with a touch of envy. ) Glad that you were able to figure out a work-around to the problem and that you're, once again, back on track.

If you happen to get the time, could you explain exactly what you need these boards for, and why they expire/wear out (since you can't use the old ones you loved so much)? I've never done much water coloring, so I don't don't know the process.

[edit: By the way, considering you're "looking for your fingers," I'd go so far as to say that's godly work without them. ]

Ok everyone, after I post this please do not swarm me with art requests...

    CuppaJo

Ok, so I have no art skills, but I wanted to do something so I did the best I could with good old Paint

Run... hide... get a distraction... because TA is coming your way. Lookout!!

Either way, things are going to be delayed, but, hopefully I'll have some forward movement very soon... or kill my self, which ever *pounds head into the wall several more times*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Noo! Don't kill yourself... kill them... or just give me a name...

Kidding aside, that sucks man! Hope you can get something worked out soon. Wish I could be of more help, alas, my art foo is weak.
  6. Open a new browser window, copy the image url, paste it into the new window, hit go. Viola! Anti-anti-image-linking goodness!
  7. Hey Juggertha, theres one thing about the piece that just doesn't seem right to me. Britannia's back just seems to be bent back a bit more than what seems natural. It very well may be (natural/possible), but that's just the vibe I'm getting. Cool piece otherwise.
  8. *stops eating*
    *looks at plate*
    *realizes they're grapes*
    *looks both directions*
    *backs away, slooowly*

[edit: No, I'm not lying, that's what I'm eating at this very moment...]
  9. Nothing wrong with photoshop. Remember, people like DarkJedi touch up pieces with it.

It also doesn't matter if you make a mistake once, or a thousand times. What matters is the thousand and first time when you get it right. Thats when things just click, and that error slowly slinks into the past.

I was feeling a little lazy (aka: avoiding other work), so I did a quick little mod to your drawing. Here you can see what you drew, and what Yuriko would look like with a slightly shorter neck.

[edit: I hope you don't mind the mod. I don't think you would, since you started that "circle and comment" suggestion, but if you do, just let me know and I'll yank it.]

    Aieeeee!!! <T_T>

My best friend noticed the neck thing too >.>; It looked ok to me... but being 2 for one I'm gonna say "My eyes are off" <,<

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just a question for ya Squirrel, did you do this all in one sitting, or did you break it up? Reason I ask is there have been many drawings I've done that looks great (in my eyes for my skill level), only to come back the next day and think, "Ah crap! How did I miss that?!" It happens sometimes when you spend too long on one piece in one sitting.

That said, I still haven't fully learned from that mistake. (Granted I haven't drawn in weeks. Bleh! )

No, I am the worthless unproductive one here lately.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're unproductive? I haven't picked up a pencil since I finished the TA Chibie!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I still think I lay claim to Slowest Artist on the Board. I'm still working on a piece for TA that's taken me almost 2 months. But it's almost done! Yay!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't know about that. That may be slow and all.. But I hadn't painted/drawn or anything for 4 years until just recently... which actually makes it closer to 5.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, especially since I was wrong. It's only been one month.

And if any thread deserved hijacking, it's this one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As such, it deserves a warning.
  12. *opens mouth to say something intelligent, then closes it, and simply nods at the piece*

I don't know where to even begin on commenting... it's just an absolutely fantastic piece. I'm at a loss for words.
  13. Nightwish is teh awesome. My favorite albums from them are Once, Over the Hill and Far Away, and Century Child, in that order.

I admit, I don't have a lot of cds / music. I need to branch out more and try different groups more than I currently do.
  14. I'm currently listening to the Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack. Yes, I'm weird.

Sounds more like a forum game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yeah it does, ahh well.
  15. Wow, thats awesome. I especially love the dragon and how you drew her hands. Looking at it, I really can't come up with anything critical to say about it. How about I just say "I can't wait to see it when it's done."

Btw, I learned something new today, how to draw the "wrapped" look that you have on her hands. Mine always end up looking a bit flat.
  16. Hahaahah!!!!

Oh man, I knew there was going to be a 5th Element reference just by reading the title, but this is awesome! Got a hearty chuckle out of me for sure.

Everyone else here has beat me to the punch and mentioned the two things that are off with it, so I won't bother rehashing it.

I'm still cracking up over this.
  17. I can't help you in the coloring regard (I've only colored one piece back in high school, so at least 5-6 years ago), but I do have one critique on the line-art for ya. I think that she should have an ear visible somewhere around her hair line.

Keep at it! Practice makes perfect. Though I'm one to talk, you can see how much I've been practicing since my last post. D'oh.

    A1 (Attempt one)

I'm not sure what kind of scanner you use, but I'm willing to bet theres an option in it somewhere to change the scan type from B/W to B/W Photograph or something similar. Try scanning it that way, it'll look a lot better when scanned to the computer.
  19. Keep your art faar away from me Graver. I'd be afraid of drooling over them and washing out the color.

This is progressing along so well. I loved your previous pictures (though I can't find the one of Fallen Skye), and this does not dissapoint (even though it's not done yet)! Marvelous!

I ALSO hate those big metal arms!!!! *shakes fist* Whenever I would see those in the character creator I'd always think "Who in the hell would use THOSE?" Well apparently half the people on the art forums!!! Die giant football arms! DIE!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't suppose you got along with Popeye at all, huh? :P
  21. That turned out splendidly! If I wasn't told it was photo manipulation, I probably would've never guessed it was. The electricity and sparks in the background for some reason really tickle my fancy. Ditto on the shine on his armor.

I have to warn you to run now though. My regenner is getting sick of all these TA induced nerfs.

    quick sketchbook idea

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quick... sketchbook... I don't believe you sir!

Honestly though, that's a really splendid piece. The little toy robot in the lower right got a good chuckle out of me. You do such an excelent job when shading things, it's really stylish and feels like it has mass to it. Just out of idle curiousity, what do you use to draw / shade with? (I've just been using a mechanical pencil, I used to hate 'real things' for some reason.)

The detail you put into his hands boggles me too. I can't visualize them half as well. I'll have to study how you drew them when I get out of work...

Makes me really curious about how well done the real pieces you're working on will turn out.
  23. As far as I know, the channel got nuked. I've been trying to rejoin it every few days, but it was skill dead as of last night.

    Sanguine: WIP

I was a little hesitant to post (not terribly good at critiquing), but I'm glad I could help in this case. Can't wait to see the finished piece!
  25. Okay, instead of trying to make everything I draw something to post here, I decided I'd smarten up and just start sketching things with no intention of a final piece. I decided I'd do some 'focus studies'drawing a lot of the same thing. I drew some legs just for experimentation. After a little bit of those (still hate feet btw ), I decided I'd draw a few torsos. Mine are 'okay,' but are always off somehow (especially the connection to the hips.

Out of the middle of no-where the piece evolves into a nice little sketch of my scrapper Atillita. I even got daring and tried shading in her leather pants / chest.

It's very, very rough, but it's really growing on me. I can't decide if I like random doodling or hate it. On one hand, it's very liberating and allows for a lot of experimentation (and poses I wouldn't have just thought of)... on the other hand, the output is rough, and not very complete. Gah!

(Oh, this is drawn pretty small too, it's about the size of my hand. Zero eraser usage, but that part really shows. :P)
