HemilyTiger: Finished

Alright, finally, I am finished with HemilyTiger chasing those butterflies!

HemilyTiger: Chasing Butterflies

Granted, I did say I would have it done by Sunday night, but... it's still mostly dark outside and I haven't slept yet, so, for me, it's Sunday night, so I win! hah! I was a bit worried about the colors on this one for a while... the yellow always looked too damned acidic for my tastes but, for once, I stuck to it with the hope that the finally colors and heavy reds I had planed would balance it out, and I am damned pleased that it happened that way. I never have gotten along very well with yellow.

Oh, and, Jimson, to answer your question from my WIP thread, yes, this is hand done. It watercolor with a touch of ink to finish it off. I'm not too good with digital work and all I have to work with is a mouse... but I gots piles of brushes

Either way, I'd like to thank all those who are patently standing in line for their patience. Up next, I'll be warming up to take on Mystic Fire, and tackling the heavenly body of Battle-Angel (you won't believe how long I've been waiting to deliver that cheese bomb ) followed by the Imperial. Stay tuned kids, 2+2=4, and for the love of god, stay in school 'till they kick you out!

Absolutely beautiful!

Now, go get some sleep. I think you've more then earned a nap.

>> I think I'll be up a bit longer just staring at this.

That is simply amazing. I'm not sure there is much more I could say than that. Wow! I really love this piece. Truly great.

It's the butterflies. Instant cat-attractor and mood lightener.

They're just so pretty and chaseable!

The people demand a bigger version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to bask in its glory!

Wow it's an awesome work Graver. Amazing!

Congrats Hems on a great piece!

Beautiful is a great word for this. I have noticed that the pictures have a kinda 'alice in wonderland' feel to them. Maybe it is the softness of the colors. I love this.

I don't know where to even begin on commenting... it's just an absolutely fantastic piece. I'm at a loss for words.

Simply beautiful! It's the pastel-like quality I think that makes seem so storybook-like, I agree.

Oh man. Your work seriously astounds me, Graver.

With talent like that (and an obvious supply of schmucks like us who are willing to pay), I think you'd have a pretty good chance of just going freelance and doing this fulltime.

But then again, I'm not readdy up to speed on the economics of the fanart industry.

^^ Yeeaaah, that is what it feels like. Very daydreamish. I really like it! I didn't even notice the other bodies at the base of the tree during the WIP updates before.

Oooohhhh pretty!!!!! Somehow the happy expression on her face and the playing with the butterfly make you forget the dead bodies on the ground.

Put it to you this way - I'm a writer as much as visual artist - and my massive vocabulary has utterly failed in trying to describe this.

Graver I've really loved all your pieces and you keep getting better and better. I echo rowr I think who said we need a bigger piece to look at. So much detail I'd like to see it all. Plus its nice to see all kinds of artistic styles.

Such a beautiful piece. I love the colors you choose and the great scenes you come up with. Always a pleasure to watch your pictures progress also, thanks for letting us in on the process. Looking forward to your next works.
