  1. Hey you did that too? I took and merged 3 L50s for ++ in all of my defensive hami-os I'm considering doing that for Siphon Life but that might be a bit extreme lol.
  2. Here are the immediate changes I'd make to your build without seriously changing anything.

If I were to start from a clean slate, I'd sacrifice a bit of recharge and AoE in order to lower your endurance consumption, increase your regeneration and recovery as well as increase your ddr. You already have a ridiculous amount of AoE with TS, LR, SC so I swapped out Blaze for Body.

    Bob

What about bob! Sorry I couldn't resist

That looks like a very cost efficient build for farming but I'd suggest once you aquire the funds to increase your regeneration and recharge.
  4. Santorican

    Shield/Strength

Damn you brutes and your Gloom!!
  5. My PvE build and PvP were significantly different from each other. For PvP I'd suggest slotting for +hp and recharge and in PvE slot from +defense and + recharge.

    This is my PvP build

I lost my PvE build but I'll have to post it up once I remake it.

I am confused about your end numbers. I'm looking at the build right now and I have the following toggles running: deflection, battle agility, CJ, AAO, tough, weave, and grant cover. My end usage calculates to 0.97/sec. Add FA and it's 1.42/sec (sustainable for a reasonable span of time). Further adding super speed (which is really unnecessary, IMO) raises it to 1.78/sec. Add sprint in there and it's 2.07/sec, which is totally unsustainable. I don't get where your 1.7 figure comes from... I can tell you this, though: I run everything but sprint, SS and FA in combat and have exactly ZERO end woes. Occasionally I will turn on FA for hard targets, but that's not often since I have the Kismet: +Tohit. And looking at my in-game numbers (and my live build exemps to level 39, keep in mind) my end usage is 0.98/sec and gross recovery is 3.12/sec. Are we looking at the same build?

I will grant that your build is mostly better in terms of sheer raw numbers (although the extra downtime in hasten is questionable). You state that 5-slotting hasten for rech and "overslotting" tough (please note the def bonuses I am getting out of it at that slotting) is somehow wasted. I submit that getting 5% extra global recharge, some unneeded recovery and energy torrent for a mere 4 billion inf above the cost of mine is a poor return on investment. I realize the OP said money is no object, but come on...

Ultimately we are of differing opinions on this, which is totally fine. My defensiveness arises from your snarky implication that my build sucks. It objectively doesn't. I can farm the living snot out of Battle Maiden and Council Empire maps AND contribute mightily to teams. Please don't imply otherwise to folks.

    Just sayin'...
I'm not sure where Fury is getting that 1.78 either but I do agree that there is much that could be improved in that build that will make you a lot more efficient.
  7. Did anyone ever get to PvP this dood?

You're also forgetting, just because a bug allows you to cap DDR, doens't mean its supposed to, thats a fix to the HO bug, not shields. You're also forgetting, you look at sets with SOs, as that's what they balance around. Non-IOd shields is PAINFUL on a scrapper.

There are so many defense buffs, cause they're there to make sets very poor on surviving like shields and SR worth playing. Hence why positional defense buffs are much more than typed defense buffs.

The resistance bonuses however are far lacking for some time now.
Actually Positron stated that the HO bug is now a special effect of HOs and will not be changed.
  9. If this build hasn't started already I'd suggest getting a few sets at lower levels so that way you can keep your bonuses if you plan to exemp.

That is one of the most ignorant statements I've read in a while. I've seen plenty of concept builds that are wickedly good.

Anyway OP this is what I came up with for your build, it currently stands as a very good build. You have a lot of recovery almost too much recovery lol. So I took some slots from stamina and quick recovery and slotted them into boxing to give you a nice boost in recharge using absolute amazement.

I also slotted Tough with three Aegis because you only have an 8 second down time on Dull Pain so you really won't need the HP bonuses from Titanium Coating.

Largely I assume Travel is a subject of personal preference, theme and style:

What did you pick and why?
Personally I wish I didn't have to take a travel power, they're all so ugly looking. I can't wait till we can personalize pool powers and I can eliminate that dumb glow underneath my character's feet from Super Speed.

NOT ALL SUPER SPEEDERS CAUSE SPARKS YOU KNOW!!!!

  14. You could always slot your Soul Drain for Acc/End/Rech

Is there a scrapper out there that is practically invincible? One that can sit in the middle of the Cyst mission in the ITF and not flinch? One that puts out damage of monster proportions without hindering his defenses, all while maintaining his endurance to a reasonable level? I ask because I need a battleship that can stand and never fall on "Master Ofs" and can change the flow of an AV battle with a solid attack chain. If one of these mythical beasts exist, please, do tell. Thanks.
Two that come to mind are Katana/Regeneration and Dark/Shield. A Dark/Shield with billions of influence poured into it will be nigh unstoppable. Umbral made a Katana/Regeneration that is capable of soloing 4 AVs at once.
  16. For PvP

    1. Regeneration
    2. Fire
    3. SR

    For PvE

    1. Shields

Mine isn't anywhere near the cap for ranged defense. I stated that I fixed their slotting without moving any slots around and just focused on what enhancements they were slotting. I'd significantly change this build if it were mine to focus on having near 30% defense to every position.

    Good deal, thank you!

IO's change everything and what happens is you can softcap and then leverage against all odds without the softcap saturated against all odds just gets you killed. So you take the ridiculous amounts of global recharge, softcap and leverage large amounts of damage buffs and you have a winner. With IO's on my Fie/sd I am pushing 39% damage (thanks to IO +damage and AAO) with one enemy in range then if I can saturate I am pushing 100% damage buff and if I rework my build again to add Assault I can do 49% with one enemy. In case of dark melee they are going to leverage multiple enemies from soul drain which is an ok power most the time but on this one particular build jacks it to another level. Fire/Kin's where doing similar with Fulcrum shift the only thing they can really do to shield is scale down AAO then they will need to buff something else on the set because on a normal SO build shield is down right mediocre. I am working on my second shield from level 1 no power leveling it and it is down right painful at times compared to other builds I have done. My DB/Elec is performing much better at the level 25+ so far than either my shield did but at the top end my Fire/SD and elec/sd with a high end IO build will out perform it.
That is the reason why shields is so over powered is because of inventions. There are two major things wrong with this game currently, there are way too many defense bonuses and there is way too much influence floating around in this game. Combine the two and you have a lot of people with a lot of ridiculously good characters.

Dull Pain and Accolades gets you very close to the cap all you need is a few +hp bonuses
  22. No I am saying that passive regeneration(meaning without clicking any of your heals or using inspirations and just allowing your health bar to fill up on its own) will not help you nearly as much as regeneration + defense + recharge. Recharge and regeneration will help some but not nearly as much. Regeneration the set is arguably one of the best secondaries for scrappers.
  23. Here is a new concept build, I'm not entirely sold on it though. It has a Soul Drain that is slotted for only accuracy and recharge, but by doing so my recharge gets nuked by 37.5% which translate to a slower recharging everything lol meaning Siphon life isn't up as often as I'd like it to be and hasten has a 17 second down time which is no bueno. Anyway if you can see anyway of keeping the soft cap with keeping the same slotting for siphon life as well as soul drain I will give you a whopping 1 influence .

Yeah, toggle IH needed a hardcore nerfing. Of course, you had to slot the hell out of it just to make it even remotely usable because it cost so friggin' much.
Not to mention six slotting stamina as well because it was a huge endurance hog.
  25. What I'm saying is that passive regeneration alone will not help your survivability all that much without some positional defense.

The reason why a lot of people focus on recharge and defense is because it works, but you can play your character how you like which is the beauty of this game.

But with that said if you are looking toward improving your character in specific aspects I'd suggest mentioning that in your first post because 95% of people on the scrapper boards will give you suggestions that will give you the best performance possible minus everything else.
