Quote:You can harvest Coralax in the Hollows (along the Red River). This was added with the revamp in Issue 12Coral club and Elder knife...not sure if both sides have access to those villain groups. They're too signature to no have as unlockables.

Quote:Realistically? Not likely. Wrappers and virtualization have almost always been expensive, resource-wise.To begin, I want to point out that I have no freaking idea what the "mousebug" is. I've had no trouble at all. Then again, I diskwarrior and repair my permissions frequently and/or before every install, so...
But the thing that's bothering me with the mac client right now (and this is huge. HUGE) is the amount of CPU and memory the current cider wrapper is gulping down whenever I start CoX. I'm running at 80% CPU on bad days, and 60% on good. I can barely run any app on the side apart from iChat, and asking Safari to work usually takes an act of god.
Now yes, the new client wrapper is way better. Smooth, easier loading, etc., but at the cost of making my machine an utter piece of crap (which it very much is not).
Are we going to see an end to this? Will the mac playerbase see a more efficient cider patch that doesn't take away the new performance?
What specs are you running? CPU,Memory,Video, etc?
I found that upgrading my Unibody Macbook's memory from 2 to 4 gigs added a noticeable difference in performance. -
Not all of them, but damn close...

Quote:Menu->Personal Info->Badges tabSo, is there someplace that I can view the total numbers of badges I've earned?
(This is probably a stupid question, but not as stupid as me counting them out one by one. :P ) -
Quote:Your 23" iMac likely has a higher native resolution than your Macbook Pro, hence the issue. I would suggest running at a lower resolution and in windowed mode. Windowed mode for macs is accessed by hitting Command+enter while in game.OK, I've got a 23" iMac at home with a 500 MB video card and 4 GB of ram and my video runs like crap. I have it set for performance, but I suspect I might have the resolution too high for it to be happy. I'm wondering what resolution people generally run on their Macs. The game is simply very unstable on that iMac in addition to the performance not being particularly good. I end up with a lot more stable game on my Macbook Pro which is over a year older and has half the RAM.
At least, I think it is. It's been a while since I'be actually played on the Mac
client. I've 'only' got a 1st gen unibody macbook and prefer to play on my PC desktop. -
Quote:Except that lore wise, they are magicBut they're not magical. All event critters and GMs are just animatronic robots designed to give superpowered individuals somthing to do. By periodically releasing these entities upon Paragon City and the Isles it draws all the heroes and villains to a central location, thus leaving the rest of the world free to go about its business.

Quote:There have been others.Chrome, I totally hear what you are saying. However, that has never been my experience with any CoX event.
Every time a new event kicks off it seems to go live when the servers are brought up. This includes my experience with the Halloween event over the last few years and the double XP event that happened this month.
And if this is the case, should it not be listed in the GMOTD?
I remember the badge (Heart of Light/Darkness) awarding at Midnight according to the server time. This caused confusion since the servers are split on the two coasts. -
Did you look at the ingame help from one of the arena contacts?
Quote:That's also available on ParagonWiki at the Arenas page, specifically under the Games Information Agent's paragraph.Swiss Draw Tournament - This new arena match type is a two-phase tournament that returns you to the Battle Terminal between matches. During the first phase, each player who enters this tournament will square off against another player. Once a 'Top 8' has been determined, the tournament enters its second phase. The second phase is a single elimination style tournament where only the 'Top 8' can continue. Those who do not qualify are removed from the tournament. The single elimination tournament continues until the last player is standing and that player is declared the winner.
There is also the original patch notes (archived here)
Quote:Swiss Draw: An 8 to 64 player tournament that will have players duking it out 1 vs 1 until the top 8 combatants are chosen. After this point there will be three rounds of single elimination to determine the winner of the tournament. -
Quote:Well, this seems to be the first I've heard about it, but I can take a look once the sites are back up.Hey while you guys are at it, maybe you could fix the issue that if you forget your password, you are out of luck?
I have not been able to access my faces account, @Lunar Veil, and it is irritating because there is no way for me to retrieve my password. Anyway, HUGE suggestion, please at least let me know if I am missing something? I have requests waiting that have been sitting for oh, a good long time 0_0 Thanks -
Quote:It's decent. For reasonably cheap, you can upgrade the ram to 4 gigs on NewEgge. I put this set in my 1stgen 13 Unibody Macbook.hi.. just wondering if the basic 13" macbook pro (2.23 duo core, 2 gb ram) will run coh well? and maybe even to coh's at once, wont be running 2 much.. but just the odd time i want to PL myself or maybe level a buddys toon while he is away.. thanks for any replys
Also, unless run the App bundle from the command line (and I don't remember how do do that specifically), you'll need to copy the City of Heroes APP bundle for the second copy. There are a few tips and tricks, such as /MaxInactiveFps -
Yeah, I had one award late about 7 or 8 months ago. You need to file a petition with support to have them look at it and award it.

*Shrugs* works for me. I have it as a Live Bookmark folder in Firefox. I tell what I have read on it by the board's favicon appearing in next to the post title

Did your team have the specific challenge settings in place? Cause I'm fairly sure that's how they track the 'Master of' badges

Quote:I'm torn. My /stone brute really enjoys the height change aspect of the current granite armor. I've set him up for Min legs and min height on his slidersFor those of you with Stone Armor characters, how attached are you to the current appearance of "Granite Armor"? There are a number of issues with Granite Armor that could be elegantly solved by changing the VFX of the power into something more akin to the other armor toggles in the set. IE, your player model and costume wouldn't go away, there would just be a new set of 'Granite' armor pieces overlaid.
I haven't made any decision to do this, it's just one of the options for dealing with the multiple issues we have with Granite Armor and I wanted to get a sense of how many of you guys wouldn't be able to adapt to a change like this.
Before anyone asks, no...we couldn't have it both ways."Who are you calling short?" *pops Granite* RAWR!
Of course, with the science booster, there is a bit more lenience towards this aspect.
One thing I'm concerned with is the justification of the penalties of granite. It was pretty easy to see that this hulking golem wouldn't move very fast or jump.
Another thought: could we have it both ways? Hear me out: do your new rock pieces for granite. Then, have whomever create a temporary power similar to the halloween costume change stuff and have this power unlock as an inherit when granite is selected (similar to Khelds forms). Now, I would have the costume cost 0 endurance and have no other effects, aside from changing your character model. Would this be prohibitive? -
Nah, that would be fixedsys

Not anymore :-/ back in the day I remember the big trainers having the info blurbs. That was before they added all of the "help" text to the boxes

Quote:CIT is accurate as of the latest live patch, and we've got our eye on Issue 16's changes to the /settitle listThe same numbers might not point to the same badges after new ones are released.
New badges squeezed into the middle of the list changes the value of the rest of them.
You'd have to get an updated list every time there are new badges.
On a side note, you can always click on the badge you want to set as your badge title, but for Gladiator badges.. you can find the current list of the Gladiator settitle values on badge-hunter.com - Gladiator Badges and I believe City Info Tracker Badge List shows the settitle for every badge as well. I'm assuming the numbers are current, but keep in mind they could change Soon™ with i16 around the corner. -
Quote:How much RAM do you have?I did run netgraph today and it looks good, no spikes or dropped packets. Load times are roughly a minute today so slightly better but still not good especially when it was a lot faster before. Support has been no help yet, only suggestion was 'try windowed mode'.

Quote:http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Chat_Window#Active_NamesAlso, keep in mind that unlike e-mails, tells don't have a "Spam" button. In order to petition someone who sends you an e-mail, you have to actually fill out a pop-up form, and it goes through a different process that gets the petitions mixed in with everyone who is reporting drama, stuck in a mission, reporting a bug, etc. I guarantee you that people are much less likely to file a RMT spam /petition than they are to click that Spam button on their e-mail. One nice thing about spam e-mail (what? there's a good thing?) is that spammers were much more quickly reported and much more quickly dealt with.
Right-click on the character name and hit "Report Spammer". Character is ignored (now globally), and marked as a spammer. The higher ups advised a /petition, but it wasn't required.
EDIT: Part of me is giggling that I sent TonyV a link to his own site -
Quote:This. There are options at the top of the columns called "None". Use those and you won't have the titles.Well as ParagonWiki points out, you will also have the chance to change them at level 35 and 45.
You will need to set it for both the Common and Origin titles
