Interesting Historical Trivia

I've been reading this book on the history of the Roman empire and I found something rather interesting.

The last emperor of the Western Roman empire was named Romulus Augustulus. (Ruled 475-476 AD)

Hmm... Where have I heard a name name like that before? Oh.

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

I don't know offhand when the Cimerora storyline was plotted, but will note that Jack Emmert was teaching Classics before he was hired by Cryptic.

My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.

As further note, I don't think the two are related in anyway.

P.S. Praetorian is another example of a Classical reference. Oh hell, just read up on the Easter Egg/In-Game References page on the Wiki. Signs that the Devs Did Their Research.

BTW - don't use the "Wikia" version of the Paragonwiki. It has not been routinely updated by anyone other than the RMT sites that adverstise on it. It was abandoned by the folks who do our Wiki over a year ago (IIRC).

Not to rain on your parade about your discovery, but there are tons and tons of Classical references throughout the game.

Romulus Augustus is first mentioned in the arc "A Path into Darkness", which was present when the game went live. It it specifically mentioned that he is the Romulus Augustus.

The story kind of went downhill from there....

So this isn't exactly "news".

The devs have explicitly stated that the Nictus Romulus Agustus, and the Warshade Romulus are NOT the same person.

EDIT: Also, "The Path Into Darkness" is a Villain arc, therefore, it could NOT have been in the game when it went live.

hmm... There's an arc called "A Path Into Darkness", given by Colleen Nelson, who is a HERO contact in BRICKSTOWN.

The latter has nothing at all to do with the former, being as how the latter did not even exist when the former was created.

Furthermore, the devs have said at various times that there is and is not a relationship between the two. I have no idea if this one is on flip or flop at the moment, and I doubt they do either.

It is a 35-40 hero arc, actually. I am not aware of any villain arcs by that name.

So, when I said that the two had nothing to do with each other, you felt the need to correct me and tell me they had nothing to do with each other... why?

Yeah, I screwed up here. No idea what I was thinking, obviously some wires got crossed somewhere.

Venture was probably just wondering why you bothered to bring up the Warshade Romulus in the first place, since the discussion at hand had nothing to do with him. The question wasn't whether or not the Nictus Romulus Augustus and the Warshade Romulus are one and the same... it was whether or not the Nictus Romulus Augustus and the historical Romulus Augustus are...
