Looking at the "world map" on Vidiotmaps, yes, there's a void there where you can see Kings and Perez "fitting together" initially. However, *gate* wise, they don't line up now. Galaxy city may be destroyed and inaccessible, but it's still *there.*

Unless there's a gate farther south in perez - which, if they did do a revamp, they might do - it wouldn't line up in any sensible way. Plus there's no actual GATE there. Just a checkpoint and a cement wall.

Bad enough Galaxy got destroyed. Let's not start pretending it never existed.
I remember hearing about all of this, way back in the day.

However, Galaxy was added before launch, and has been part of the game world since release (which, in-game, is forever). I agree, just because GC was destroyed isn't a reason to retcon it out of existence, although I wouldn't mind at all if it became a new level 50 hazard zone in the future, where we get to make a stand against the Shivans and the Storm, maybe even take it back.

I also agree that Perez (along with Boomtown and DA) desperately needs some new love from the devs.

Everyone has always had to accept the EULA every time. The only difference is that it used to be packaged into the old launcher, but since switching to the NCSoft launcher it was moved to right after the login was entered into the client. No change in accepting it, only when it happens.
  3. I remember it being mentioned in a ustream, I think it was the mega- 12-hour bonanza while i21 was loading. If I'm correct, good luck finding it in there.

But yes, they are currently stacking and I've been led to believe they always will (which means I'm eventually going to have a ridiculous amount just like costume tokens).
  4. The biggest hurdle I see here is that we need some new area plan editor, because the base editor is a head-desk-38-hit-combo nightmare.

Otherwise, I think it'd be a great option to grind into the Paragon Market machine.

You also get one free token the first time you buy any points. Another $10 will net you an additional token.

    Fixed that for you.

Honestly, folks... First, CoH did NOT go F2P. They've taken a hybrid business model, permitting varying degrees from free to monthly subscribed plans. Really... Read everything Paragon has put out, they don't call it F2P and (subtly) correct it in every interview. Second, for the past 7 years, if you stopped paying a subscription, you got nothing. You couldn't even log into the game. Now, if you stop paying, you receive limited access, increasing if you have stored up veteran time or if you pay a la carte for the features you want. But for some reason everyone seems to think they deserve more for nothing.

Imagine if you ran a coffee shop. Now you really don't like wasting things, so you take your old, slightly burned coffee and the pastries that didn't sell that morning and donated it to a shelter. Now imagine that the people at that shelter threw a fit and called you a greedy basterd because you gave them old coffee and pastries. That's the kind of person the vocal preemies are sounding like.
  7. I've got to put my kudos in as well. I just flashbacked the whole First Ward story arc and it's nothing short of amazing. If this is the class of story arcs we have to look forward to, I can't wait for what else is to come. Thanks for the great work!!
  8. That's possibly the most awesome cake ever.

    No more store?

Now, if you DON'T want every item from a booster pack, yes it will be cheaper in the new store since you can pick and choose.
Don't forget, however, that you also get 400 PP free for every month of VIP subscription. That can also go towards your stuff.
  10. I've been trying to remember what Pocket D looked like before the tiki room, monkey fight club, vault reserve, etc. were added over the years. Can't recall any of it. Does anyone remember what was there before all that stuff?

An ever-increasing error these days. "Epic", like "ironic", has had its original meaning chewed up and pooped out into a new pop-culture infused shadow of its former purpose. Similar mutilations of the English language include: "Radical", "Awesome", and "Exceptional". All of these, however, are nothing compared to "Irregardless".

  12. I'm getting a DBServer error from all live and both beta servers. Haven't tried test, though.

That's kind of funny, I've had the same problem in Mississippi.

    I'll be back August 12.
  14. Friendly advice from a multi-Q veteran: The best possible time to run this is a Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon. Plan for it to take about 9 hours, so you've got a good cushion in case it runs long and you'll be pleasantly surprised if it's over in 4. Despite all of the haters, Dr. Quaterfield isn't a bad TF and actually has kind of an interesting storyline. Most people just hate the fact that it's full of mez-heavy mobs, has a lot of kill-all missions on large maps, and exists within the shadow shard, which isn't conducive to fast movement. But for those willing to step up and give it a shot, it's a different breed of challenge than you find in the rest of the game.

Personally, I consider it a good thing that the rest of our game isn't like it (and I believe most would agree with that sentiment) but I also like having that option available when I do feel like it.

If you ever want to make a run on a weekend, let me know and I'll be out there!
  15. Sorry I missed it, Talia... Happy belated birthday!!

Oh, and don't worry about 30, it's really no biggie. 50's the one to worry about... Until I turn 50, that is. Then 50 will be awesome as well.
  16. In honor of this thread, can we rename the BAF to the Behavioral Adjustment Treatment Home?
  17. Not sure what the error means, but you can enable Safe Mode by right-clicking on "City Of Heroes" in the launcher, clicking "Properties", and then clicking "Launch in Safe Mode".

    Hope that helps somewhat!
  18. I'm terribly sorry, but I'm not going to be able to make it tonight due to other responsibilities. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one!

Again, I'm sorry but the military life was never a convenient one.
  19. Just enjoy yourself and do what you're told. You'll be fine and have the time of your life.

Out of curiosity, Zwillinger... in the US Navy, ETR is Estimated Time to Report, which would be the maximum time until you report if/what the results of your troubleshooting are and when the next update will come. That doesn't fit with the context of your statement. What does it mean when you say it? Time to Repair?

    Trapdoor

I solo'd him easily on my AR/Dev blaster and my Merc/Traps MM, but that was before the lava trick got nerfed. Tried him on my Dark/Sonic def and I couldn't do it until I got a lucky KB from Nemesis Staff and he ended up in a ragdoll hold. After that I used the "evil wife from hell" tactic and screamed at him until he died.

Fun fact: if he can't stand, he can't bifurcate.

Edit: Also, the Merc/Traps had an awesome epic battle on the Rikti mish following Trapdoor. I'd had trouble with the final room, not because of the EBs but because of the multiple portals filling the room with 100 or so rikti minions who whittled me down to nothing. So, I loaded up a tray full of purples and charged in, blasting everything in sight, resummoning as minions died, and dropping Trip mines mid-fight. The feel of the fight was just raw awesome.
  22. I remember requesting a change to the contact window (since the old window was nothing but a LOOONG listing of every contact you'd ever been offered a mission from). I was downright giddy when it got changed to our current window.
  23. I'm up for it... now if only I can find a marketing/farming boot camp event I'll be able to pick up pretty much every aspect of the game!
