Task Force Tuesday: Quaterfield For Your Thoughts

Well I posted these in the wrong sequence. Oh well. As I said in my other task force thread, I've come down to only two task forces in the game which I have never run: Justin Augustine and Dr. Quaterfield. I have some time off on Tuesday (4/19) as well and would like to run Dr. Quaterfield. I know this is a weekday but hope there are 7 brave souls out there willing to jump on board with me.

Please respond if you would like to join me on what I've heard is a ridiculously long adventure, complete with Incarnate Shard earning potential now! We'll begin at 12:45pm EST, meeting in the Shadow Shard at the Dr. beginning at 12:30pm EST.

1. Me: Level 50 Ice/Storm/Ice Controller

Mainly commenting because you say you have never run a Doc Q before.

Unless you have an experienced team that knows exactly what they're doing, how to cut corners and speed... Doc Q is about 7.5 hours of sheer torment. Otherwise it can be done in 3 if you have a speed team of vets who know the TF inside and out.

I've never done it under 7.5 hours before. Painful TF...for me anyways. >.> I'd love to be on one of those 3 hour teams one of these days.

Posting late but didn't get any turn out for this one, so ended up canceling it as well.

No one turned out to do a Doc Q on a Tuesday afternoon? This is my shocked face.

Now c'mon, was that really necessary? I made no allusions in my post about expecting a full turnout immediately. I knew it was the middle of the day on a weekday, but considering I had the time off I figured it didn't hurt to try and organize one.

Please forgive Arwen, Flipside. She is not in a happy place at the moment, and the anger seems to be spilling onto some people's posts. She's a nice lady. I'm sure she didn't mean to come across so caustic.

The suggestion someone posted on your Monday one was a good idea - broadcast on Justice United or JFA2010 and see who's around and willing in the middle of the day. I got on a Doc Q at a really strange time on an afternoon I had vacation because someone (I believe it was Heroette) did just that. Hope you get to run your TFs soon! Good luck!

Knowing Arwen as I do, I would suspect the response was not so much caustic as Callie suggested, but instead was just her normal humor and sarcasm. That's fairly normal for many of us on the Justice forums, especially the sarcasm. Several of us are that way in person as well, which is likely why they can put up with me ... er ... why we get along so well.

Several of us aren't in a happy place right now, but that doesn't stop us from using humor and sarcasm in our posts. Sometimes, that's the only way we can respond on the forums without breaking any forum rulez. Even then, we have to be careful of the topics we are replying to with humor and sarcasm. As long as they aren't topics that are poking the bear, we are generally safe.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

It was total sarcasm. I'm sorry you took offense.

Just have to remember that not everyone finds sarcasm humerous. To some people it is rude and offensive. Generally a good rule of thumb is not to use it on people that you don't know very well. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

If people find my sarcasm humorless, rude or offensive, they are more than welcome to put me on ignore. Also, be sure to voice that opinion about me and the fact you've put me on ignore so that I won't bother wasting my time replying to any of your posts.

This thread is more entertaining than Dr. Q.

Have to be who you are. Not everyone will like it, hopefully most will respect it.

As for the Quaterfield, don't be discouraged. Many people are not fond of it, atleast in my circles of play. The best way to get people to do that TF, is to either find people who need the badge and/or advertise it in JFA and JU. Someone will go either out of curiosity, necessity or they are masochistic. Either one works

Friendly advice from a multi-Q veteran: The best possible time to run this is a Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon. Plan for it to take about 9 hours, so you've got a good cushion in case it runs long and you'll be pleasantly surprised if it's over in 4. Despite all of the haters, Dr. Quaterfield isn't a bad TF and actually has kind of an interesting storyline. Most people just hate the fact that it's full of mez-heavy mobs, has a lot of kill-all missions on large maps, and exists within the shadow shard, which isn't conducive to fast movement. But for those willing to step up and give it a shot, it's a different breed of challenge than you find in the rest of the game.

Personally, I consider it a good thing that the rest of our game isn't like it (and I believe most would agree with that sentiment) but I also like having that option available when I do feel like it.

If you ever want to make a run on a weekend, let me know and I'll be out there!

Good to clear that up, thank you. No stranger to sarcasm, but I didn't get that from your post. Sometimes the interwebs do not convey sarcasm well.

I would love to be able to do this, but I'm a parent and trying to get that kind of time on a weekend has pretty much a 0% chance of occurring. I'll keep at it though, and keep you in mind when I get the opportunity to set one up.

Sadly I found this was true at one hotel

Enjoy your day please.

There was a Doc Q run last night at about 9pm EST. I believe it only took them a little over 3 hours. (An experienced group who knew how to do it quickly.) Very late evening, when the AU folks are generally on, is also a good time for this TF.

Sorry to have to ask, but who are the "AU folks"?
