For those who are new to PvP and want to learn:

Boot Camp 2 will be starting on Victory soon. I had the pleasure of assisting in pt 1 which was only open to Victory. This time around we are trying it on a larger scale and opening it to other servers.

I always wanted to do something like this for Justice but never had the knowledge. There are many mentors who have volunteered to assist and teach arena team PvP. This will be done in a style and pace to best suit players new to PvP.

The fact that it is on Victory may seem like a deterrent but if you are low on slots on Justice it may be beneficial to you. There will be assistance with lvl'ing and accolade'ing toons so there shouldn't be worries of not knowing people or getting teams.

It would be nice to get some Justice people into arena PvP in an organized learning atmosphere. It would increase our PvP population maybe enough to get our own league going. If you have interest in joining see this thread:

Looking over the post in the other thread, I didn't see anything on this (I could just fail at reading), but is there going to be a section of the Camp where they will explain the most effective powers to use and the best slotting/enhancements to maximize your character?

Talia I'm not sure if it was in the post but in the previous boot camp powersets and slotting where discussed. Help with builds was given as well.

I'd be interested in participating/learning, but I think I'm way too casual with it to level/slot a toon just for it, in 2 weeks, and then commit to 16 more weeks, plus the vent thing.

Does any pvp occur on this server any more? I'm so far out of the loop these days. I kind of miss it, even though it was mostly with my gimp claws/inv scrapper.

We are actually asking you not to roll anything till we start, we will be demostrating the various roles in PvP: Healing; Damage; Distruption; and Debuff. Then asking new players to PvP to sign up what they would like to play (we will be 'limiting' their choices to ATs and Powersets that work well in team PvP to allow them the best opportunity to learn and play something effective in this setting).

As far as leveling- There will be various mimimal threat levels to achieve for the first 6 weeks and we will be offering acclerated experience obtainment teams for players to get to these target levels.

The vent thing is kind of mandatory- most communication on team based PvP happens way to fast to type. If you have a strong objection to 'talking' on vent you can use preset macros to do most of your talking however, it would be necessary to still listen in to hear who the target is and such.

The purpose of this event is to allow the casual player or someone who doesn't want to invest 10's of billions into a build just to try PvP. PvP does have a steep learning curve and that is what we are here for, to teach this aspect of the game at a minimal time investment and resource investment to the players.

I'm am participating, and helping with the Boot Camp. I encourage anyone that wants to participate, to sign up. This will be a learning experience, and its alot of fun.

This might be fun and a break from my unethical pvp practices.

Hell, Philly shows at all the events I run... so, I'll give this a shot... But really, this is something I've been looking for, an intro to PvP.

My experience with PvP is very limited, but I'd like to see if it's something I'd like and could get into.

Currnetly my schedule is pretty busy, but I'll do my best to make it.
