Can't post in broadcast chat?

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere but it seems a friend of mine has a problem. Both of the friends I play with are premium, both have played before and paid the monthly fee for it. Now one of them is able to post in broadcast and such, all that good stuff, while the other can't, all they're able to do is send tells. Another thing is that the one who can talk in broadcast also gets mid lvl inspirations while the other can't.

Also, she can't make a forum account, that's why I'm posting this for her.

I know there are different lvls of premium but I don't know how you figure out what lvl you actually are.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.

You must be Tier 3 to be able to use broadcast. Check out Paragon Wiki's page on Paragon Rewards. You can see where you are by clicking the 3 rising stars icon in the main game/character selection (or going to menu -> Paragon Rewards while in game).

You need a minimum of Five tokens to fully unlock chat for non-paying customers.

First token is for having an account.

Buying 1200/$15 worth of points (tracks over time, don't have to buy at once) gets you a token.

Subbing for a Month gets you a token (Currently bugged, in that it is supposed to award upfront all at once for a subbed period, currently awards 1 a month at the end of the month)

There are also two more one-off ways to get tokens.

A bonus token is awarded for having one or more "box" codes on your account.

The first time you buy points, any amount.

Your friend without broadcast, if he ever bought a "box" (from a store, or one of the full account creating editions from NCSoft's store or Steam) already has that bonus token. But if he created the account from one of the old "Don't need to a buy a box" codes (pre-2007 friend code has a chance at being this), he doesn't.

And actually simply buying $5 worth of points (400) will give you a token. Unclear if those 400 count toward the 1200 for another token or not.

They should. So basically 1st token at $5 bucks, second token at an additional $10 (for buying 1200 points total)

I was told emphatically that they do count. (Just wait 'til Kit gets here.) Thus, 5 tokens should be had for $45, or 3 months subscription.

You get the first one free. You get the second for any purchase or applying a retail code.

Tokens 3, 4, and 15 cost $15 each. Or three months subscription. That's how it works, as best as I know.

You also get one free token the first time you buy any points. Another $10 will net you an additional token.

You're both talking about the same token; the $5 token *is* the first-time token, as it doesn't reach the 1200 point threshhold for standard token grants. The first-time purchase applies regardless of how much money is spent. That $5 will count toward your running total, however - so, as SailorET said, an additional $10 purchase will grant another token.

But if you just sub for 3 months, and haven't purchased any PP, would you have 5 or just 4? I would think 4, since you haven't bought any PP nor applied a retail code.

I'm ViP so I can't be sure if it works the same for Premiums but...

When Freedom launched I had a whole mess of tokens filling me up to tier 8 but I also had something like 3 tokens left to be placed manually.

Perhaps the friend without broadcast has an unspent token?

Reward Tier Bonuses are based on tokens owned, not tokens slotted. You don't have to slot a single token to get the Tier Bonuses.

I believe it's 5. "First purchase" is anything, including a subscription. It doesn't have to be points. Then your 3 month subscription gives you 3 more tokens. Total 5, including the first one everybody gets.

Inspiration drops are tied to Reward Tier lvl as well. Reward Tier 4 grants medium inspiration drops and Reward Tier 8 grants large.

You don't get a Paragon Reward Token from purchasing subscription time, only points. General_CoH said "haven't purchased any PP" means there is no "first time purchase" PRT.

Additionally, they changed how subscriptions award Paragon Reward Tokens; you do not get any PRTs up front like they planned (it was broken). If a brand-new Free Player subs for three months, then they have one PRT - for having an account. At the end of the first month, they are granted one PRT for a total of two. At the end of the second month, they are granted one PRT for a total of three. At the end of the third month, they are granted one PRT for a total of four.
