Can't beat that with a stick.

Typical "center of the Universe" attitude. "It's okay to upset lots of other people if I get what I personally want, because only I matter."

No, I was 50 and running Rooted. My point in this thread is that ot's not "complete" mezz protection.

    Here's the autopsy report.

    Animal pack II

It's niche, I know, but I would really love a "Dog Breed pack" (A "Dog Pack Pack?") with heads and tails for many different breeds. You can't make recognizable tributes to specific breeds with the current options, severely limiting my concepts for an all-dog supergroup.

Sorry to nitpick, but this sounds like theory talking instead of experience. A fully-developed SR Scrapper is essentially unaffected by the Romans' defense debuffs and doesn't experience cascading defense failure.

Before initiating the transfer? In case of what? Don't the transfers sometimes take a few hours to go through?

Yeah, after hesitating, I guessed the OP meant "swap out the T1 attack for Air Sup on my power tray," not skip it somehow in the character creation process.

The nice thing about Jab is it recycles so fast that you don't have to wait if you want to use it to soften up every target.
  9. I want to transfer a character and rename him. How can I best go about this?

I have free server transfers. I have a character named, for example, Bob on Oldserver. I have a placeholder character on Newserver named Steve. The name Bob is already claimed on Newserver.

    How I think it works:

If I transfer Bob to Newserver, he automatically becomes Bob1 and gets a rename token? Then I could delete Steve and use the rename token to turn Bob1 into Steve?

Is that the best way to go about it?
  10. Pairs of Efficacy Adapters are also useful on Willpower builds, which usually have enough spare endurance they don't regret a slight decrease in Stamina's and Quick Recovery's efficiency, but benefit very nicely from +hit point bonuses.

    Premium IO's?

This has been said several ways, but perhaps the ramifications were not explored:

...and "inducements" only work if they're something you really want.

In this case it's particularly the IOs that you want -- other stuff you could take or leave. And lo and behold, it's particularly the IOs that are gated to induce people to pay some more money.

Looks to me like a good choice by the Devs.

If they offered junk you don't want, you wouldn't pay, would you?
  12. More dogs! One of every breed!
  13. More athlete emotes:

  14. Yeah, in retrospect Granite and Fault would have been much, much safer. I was in a hurry, late at night (yeah, I know). :P
  15. Deceased: One "hardcore" (a playstyle in which a single defeat = death/deletion or at the very least, transfer to a non-hardcore SG) Stone/Stone Tanker, level 50, pre-Incarnate (has shards but had not made an Alpha power yet). Decedent had numerous set IOs.

Location: The body was found in the offices of the Paragon Caper tabloid newspaper, surrounded by level 51 Malta corpses.

Known Suspects: Marks on the body implicate Malta operatives and are consistent with the modus operandi of a rogue super known as Blast Furnace (see attached rap sheet).

Scenario: Decedent was known to be operating in the pre-granite armors -- all of them -- at the defense soft cap against smashing, lethal, energy, negative, and psi damage, although only moderate defense against Blast Furnace's fire (20%). Also known to be Tough. At the time of death, the body did not appear to have employed Earth's Embrace or Granite Armor.

A witness to the scene, a Dark Melee/Shield Scrapper, described what happened.

"[Decedent] teleported into the spawn of Malta next to Blast Furnace, and taunted. Then he attempted to use his Fault power to stun them and knock them down, but it did not work -- he appeared to be immediately held. Before realizing this, he tried to activate Earth's Embrace to heal himself, but it also did not work, and he realized he was held.

He made two attempts to "break free" from this hold, but neither seemed to "take" -- apparently he was ready to be Inspired but the Inspiration never actually took place. Instead he tried to turn into granite -- maybe he assumed he'd found the proper inspiration?*

Anyway, I lived through the whole fight myself, despite not being a Tanker."

Questions for the class: What happened here? Is a x8 spawn of +1 Malta likely to hold a Stone Tanker using Rooted with a single alpha strike? Our records do not indicate any prior experience of this happening. Was this a simple case of really bad luck causing defense to fail spectacularly? Or is there something more sinister going on? *dun dun DUHHHN*

*clicked twice on the breakfrees and then moved on to fruitlessly trying to activate Granite and some heal inspirations, not realizing that clicking on the BFs hadn't had any effect like actually USING them.

Yeah, if you're quick with your clicks and have a good system, Team Teleport can reach "Cumbersome" on the Immobile-->Too Fast scale.

I tend to view Darkest Night as defensive in nature -- at least it's (almost) as important a survivability tool of its set as RTTC is for Willpower.
  18. Great name!

(I have Titanothere on another server, specifically created for the release Titan Weapons.)

    "Invoke" Power

Thanks for moving it. Good luck with your suggestion!
  23. Another thought: It ain't a Tanker-specific problem. With a few exceptions, ALL the guides are woefully out of date.

As always, asking that someone else take the time and effort to write a guide doesn't add much value. People have asked that for years. Why don't more people write guides? It can be a LOT of work for low reward, and be quickly rendered obsolete by patches and Issues.

Where I work, I've gotten used to the idea that I leave every meeting with a list of "action items" exactly as long as the list of "suggestions" I brought in with me. :P

Not to me. My takeaway is, "People who need a guide would only copy a build from this thread and not gain the deeper understanding of why the choices were made that they might have gained from a lengthy guide discussing the powers in detail."

If I can't have all three then I like B best.
Right. And THEN I'm making a Beast Mastery Mastermind. Beast Mastery can stack "Pack Mentality" up to ten times.

And THEN I'm going to hover over enemies doing costume changes every 30 seconds while my minions perform my patented Rocket Pack Pack Stacked Pack Mentality Attack.
