Don't have kids... Think a wife slows down your online time? Try a couple of kids.
And I do mean this in the most "I love my kids and would never trade them for anything" way. -

Refine PvP?
They cant even make freakshow tanks have arms 100% of the time...

All your arms are belong to us... -
I have done one safeguard at level 14. I superspeeded to the bank, went in, managed to recall 2 team mates and was attacked by the robbers before I could get the rest of the team. We got wiped. Rezzed. I ran to the escape point and recalled enough of the team to defeat the robbers there.
So, fun-ish, but the time crunch really kills any desire to experience the map before the robbery. And after the robbery is foiled it feels anti-climactic to stay and battle random vandals.
Compared to mayhem missions, safeguards seem harder and less cool. Temp travel powers are always cool tho... -
Or, gee, perhaps you could have lowered the mission difficulty to something more appropriate for TO equiped characters. And you called the Corr a NOOB! Sheesh!
-
Super Jump is the most fun for me, followed by super speed. Fly is handy, slow, better in CoX. Tp is very effective, but clunky and not much fun.
I do like to play the SJ game of crossing zones without ever touching street level...
-
OK, lame as it is, but it's my first level 50 after being an on and off CoH player for 2 1/2 years...
Congrats to Ms Chernobyl from Ms Chernobyl!
Finally I have my new baby Peacebringer and I plan on sticking around CoH for the forseeable future. -
I would like Bodyguard more if the pet AI wasn't bugged, so they wouldn't:
A. Refuse to return fire even though I am taking damage.
B. Run off leaving BG range even though they are set to Defensive/Follow. -
I think one thing to keep in mind, I feel that Bodyguard was designed specifically to reduce MMs being one/two shotted in PvP without the MM having a chance to defend or return fire.
With respect to this, I feel that Bodyguard will be very helpful. There would be no reason not to be in Def/Follow until right before you attack.
I don't think anyone really feels that MM as an AT need a buff for PvE. If you can make use of Bodyguard in PvE, then good for you. If not, then oh well. -
I liked the CoH RPG demo. I got to be Luminary and BLAST stuff!
Best con event is a while for me. Decent game, great GM, great players, good adventure. Had fun. We did keep track of end. Not much an issue.

Ah HA! Now I know where you will be Statesman, myself and my army of shoulder kittys and shoulder pandas will make you finally see the light...
Shoulder Pets (tm) unite! -
Just found this. Nice guide cforce! I have recently started an Illusion controller (now lvl 20) and am having a blast with Decieve. I don't know why anyone would not take it. Not only is it very useful, it's so darned fun! It turns very dangerous fights into much less dangerous fights. I'll gladly give up a little exp for that. Finally a power that makes me look forward to Sappers!

I have a 37 Fire/Rad and have been toying with my imp slotting. I have perma hasten and perma AM. I do not have tactics. I had been running 1 acc+3 dmg+2 recharge. All green gave me 3 sets for 1 min and 2 sets for 30 seconds alternatingly. I am now trying 1 acc+2 dmg+3 recharge. I can get 3 sets all the time. Visually it's more fun. Nice for door missions since I get a set out sooner after the elevator. Better for aggro control, but probally a little lower damage overall. Crowding can be an issue.
-
you may be right. we have a bunch of Rad/Rads in our SG. The HAMBOTS. Concept group, all hamsters in mecha. They are amazing en masse. The only problem with your power picks/slotting is no one on your team could solo or contribute to a different team. They are utterly dependent on the rad/rad synergy.
So if you can find 8 people to play together exclusively as rad/rads, great. If not then you are SOL. -
Well my lvl 26 controller is candy popping 6 rages to kill -4 con mobs for kill X missions. Works great for my pathetic attacks! HA!
-
well I have been playing since April and never thought of this... Must be just dumb!
Great post!
Hmmm, I wonder if filling my tray with rages would let my non-pet controller solo... Interesting....
naw, + 300% of crap damage is still crap damage!
-
Ditto to the two man 5th Column ambush. Was doing a 5th Column story arc, so just assummed...
Hmmmmm.... -
Band of Brothers does Rock! Halfway thru the DVD set.
Lets go arrest some 5th Column!!! -
Never invade Russia in Winter...
Seriously, all good ideas.
11. Stealth/Invis is also your friend. Scout the room before you engage & draw less aggro. -
I just moved all my bind files to the CoH dir. Everything works fine now.
Thanks Blue_Volt & Kalen!!! -
Blue_Volt,
Thanks much for the response. People like you make these boards great. As opposed to the trolls, whiners and flamers.
I currently have three files on my c:\ drive root dir.
keybinds.txt
sfcmercy.txt
misscelcius.txt.
I copy the correct one for the toon I am playing onto the keybinds.txt before I log in and change it as I change toons. I use /bind_load to load the keybinds.txt file in game. Always worked before. Not now.
I will try /bind_load_file c:/sfcmercy.txt next time.
Another poster thought that at Update 2, the keybinds.txt file is now in the CoH dir and not root dir.
We'll see.
Thanks again! -
"If you want to load the keybinds.txt file, use the slash command /bind_load. As long as the keybinds.txt file is still in the root directory of your c: drive, it will load automatically. "
Hey, has anyone notuced since update 2, this doesn't work. I can't load my keybinds.txt file to my current toon. Stuck with the binds of an alt. Help! -

Great idea!
Unfortunately my internet connection has been oddly bad of late and the thought of missing the first live event, post beta, is killing me. I may have to drag my laggy a** there anyway and give it a shot. We're heroes after all, right?!
Good Luck All! -
I understand your unhappiness, Nagical, but when was the last time the game was actually challenging for you? I play */Devs too and while the bugged SG was extemely useful, it did not make the game more fun. My only complaint is: why did it take this long to fix it. If it's that bugged, it should have been caught in beta, avoiding all this aggravation now.
I am looking forward to the challenge of post SG blasting! -

you didn't even point out the best thing about fly, which makes it hands down far above the rest
you can just put the thing on auto-pilot and alt-tab out and read the web, browse the forum, whatever you wanna do .... just point your nose up and towards the yellow dot... bingo... you dont have to do any work and you dont have to watch it just check back in a bit you'll probably be there... if not just alt-tab again... its so painless
fly is just too good to pass up

Agree with your post. I use the time to chat with the supergroup. But, the slow speed still drives me nuts now (lvl 27). I will probably switch to superspeed on a respec (if we ever get one). Plus Fly is useless indoors (I only run anyway). I agree with the original poster, in that, hovering out of melee range is a non-issue. Blasters do so much damage, no one gets close to me. Esp. with caltrops (which I rarely need to use).
