Assuming no Resists, all Blaster snipes at the damage cap should be able to one shot an LT.

Quote:All Energy damage will do it.However, the Divining Rod I got from Croatoa is listed as an energy attack and does ignite the slick. That won't do the OP any good, obviously, but at least some energy attacks do ignite it.
Let me make it clear to everyone: ONLY Fire or Energy damage will ignite the Oil Slick. To all other forms of damage, the pseudopet has 10,000% Resistance.
As for MM pets that have some way to ignite it, only Zombies does not have a pet which can deal some amount of either Energy or Fire damage. -

Quote:If you'd prefer, I can insult you instead. I'd prefer not to, but I'm willing to oblige.Wow I typo ONE letter and you all get up in my computer screen Seriously is there something wrong with you?
Like Strato said, laugh at yourself. If you can't, there's bound to be plenty others who will. Everybody makes typos. It comes with the territory. Whether you get all uppity about it or join in the silliness is up to you. -
Technically, we already have something a little like this. Occasionally NPCs walking by you on the streets will say something relating to what your character has previously done. By extending that to an emote as well as the comment, one could pull this sort of thing off.
Now if the NPCs could actually be taught to do that is beyond my ken, of course. -
Quote:I believe OSA is the live testing. It's clear the power combining (at least as done with OSA) is buggy and overall unreliable. It's a great idea and should be further explored, but I would not wish the mechanic on anyone as it currently is.What I was thinking was that if immob 2 is applied to the same target as immob 2, there is a chance that it will trigger immob 3 which is a new attack all together. Im no coder and I have seen first-hand how troublesome Oilslick can be, but I would suggest starting with only a few pairs of attacks for live testing and then go from there.
Also, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking for so I'll give examples of what I think you asking and you can kinda pick.
A) Player A uses Stone Prison on Enemy 1. Player B uses Stone Prison on Enemy 1 after Player A has. The 2x Stone Prisons combine and Immob3 is activated on Enemy 1.
B) Player A uses Stone Prison on Enemy 1. Player B uses Fire Cages on Enemy 1 after Player A uses Stone Prison. Stone Prison and Fire Cages combine and Immob3 is activated on Enemy 1.
Either one poses a whole lot of problems but I'd just like to know which page we're on. -
Quote:This.I suspect that given the never-ending problems that Oil Slick Arrow seems to have, this is very unlikely to be put in. Oil Slick Arrow's oil patch is supposed to ignite with any fire/energy damage. In practice, however, it only lights some of the time, a bug that drives Castle crazy.
I really like the idea, but I just don't think it's likely to go through because of all the troubles that their first endeavours have given them.
The coding nightmares are just way too big.
To give a look at what you're suggesting, A_P...
Immob1 would need to be retrofitted to add a check for Immob2 (or damage type X) which would then silent kill Immob1 and summon pseudopet A.
Because that's how Oil Slick Arrow works. It's a trainwreck. For those unaware, OSA works like so:
Caster fires OSA, which summons 2 pseudopets: Oil Slick Oil and Oil Slick Target.
OSO is the knockdown, -DEF patch. OST is the targetable, enemy conning pseudopet that is used to ignite the slick.
If/When OST is defeated (ONLY Fire or Energy damage can do so), OST then summons OSBurn, which is the fire patch.
Does it look really awesome? Yes.
It is really cool when it all works? Yes.
Is it finicky as hell and almost constantly breaking? Oh yeah. -
I believe the goal was second quarter 2010. Closed Beta was to begin in first quarter 2010.
-
Well, really, you shouldn't be meating them that fast.
Seriously. What ever happened to dinner and a movie first? -
Quote:You are aware you do not need to be in-game in order to respond to your support ticket, yes?No, not really. I actually haven't even logged into the game today and when I do, I'm not sure if I really want to take the time to wait around for someone to finally respond to a petition.
Sign in, /petition, sign out, finish rest via email.
Really, in all the time you've come here to tell us why you're not going to work to resolve your problem, you could've been done resolving it in the first place. -
Lately, I've taken to walking in AP whenever I'm just wasting time. Usually it's back and forth from the SG Portal to Wentworths, but it's kinda funny to use Walk.

Re-edit tl:dr version
My base eats your blood, sweat and tears and craps out shiny stuff for me to put on my wall.
This is the finest, funniest, most awesomely outlandish thing I've seen in quite a while. I salute you, good sir/madam! -
Quote:You are mistaken.I guess I have no chance to being involved in the 'Going Rogue' Beta.
According to the official Loyalty Program announcement, you will also have a chance to take part in the Going Rogue beta testing if you pre-order the expansion.
Also, I urge you to contact support to resolve this issue. It seems to me that it was a slight error and you should have been eligible for the Vigilant/Determined badge. -

Quote:That's probably adding the the problem you're seeing. Early game Tanks are pretty squishy since you haven't gotten a chance to let your defenses mature. Things get much better as you progress.I've done mostly solo so far as a Tank and I've found that if I don't take the time to pull one or two at a time I end up at hospital or needing to take extended periods of resting and waiting before I more on or end up at hospital.
Maybe it's me, I'm new and just trying to figure things out. I've also only been on small teams, 2 or 3 and have not had any experience with larger teams.
Small teams also present more for the issue at hand since it leaves a smaller safety net. Once you add in more players to the team, the aggro can be spread around more, the damage flows more and more mitigation is present. If you have a Defender/Controller or two on the team as well, things will speed up dramatically. -
Well, it depends.
Much of the gameplay in CoH deviates from what might be called "the norm" in MMO tactics.
We have specialized ATs Hero-side that do their roles exceptionally well... but they can also spread out to fill int the gaps teammates might bright to light. On Villain-side, the ATs are generalists who are designed specifically not to have those specific roles. They lean toward them, yeah, but can easily branch out into different sections.
It's fine to want heavily tactical teamplay, but in the way the ATs, powers, and enemies are designed in CoH, pulling a single foe out to bash on it isn't all that necessary (or wanted in many cases). Often times it's faster to do that run in and smash routine. That's just how the game is.

Also, the given example from the OP is an untargetable pseudo-pet that wouldn't be targetable (and thus portable) even if other stationary pets were changed back to being portable.

Quote:As with the previous "expanshalone," City of Villains, as well as the Super Boosters, I expect the GR content to be part of the standard client for everyone. Purchasing the code, whether it be via physical box or online NCShop, is what unlocks the ability to interact with the rest of the content.Quick question as I was unable to find the answer elsewhere. Once GR expansion becomes available, does anyone know if this will this be a "downloadable" expansion for those that already have CoX or does one have to physically go out and buy the CD to download?
We already know that at least some of GR's assets will be visible to non-purchasers (Praetorian villains will be getting visual revamps). It's just that non-purchasers will not be able to utilize the GR system or visit Praetoria to take part in all the new content.
Quote:And, with that being said, does anyone have an approximate cost for this expansion pack? -

I'm not taking either of my current Khelds to the redside, but I fully plan on rolling up a PB to go rogue and then full villain.
I fully expect to see quite a few Warshades go Nictus, so it'll be fun being the odd PB out. -
Eng/Eng is my main Blaster, so I'll stick to him to answer.
Quote:BU+Aim, E.Torrent the furthest one, and follow up with Power Burst to the Yellow Ink. Bolt and Blast to the Green then charge in with Bone Smasher and blasts on the Sorc.Quiz question #1:
In the following group, who would you attack first?
a) Tsoo Sorcerer (healer, hurricane, foe hold)
b) Tsoo Green Ink Man (melee stun)
c) Tsoo Yellow Ink Man (ranged sleep)
Quote:Quiz question #2:
In the following group, who would you attack first and why?
a) Vahzilok Mortificator (ranged -slow, revive fallen cadavers, hard hitting melee attack)
b) Vahzilok Embalmed Cadaver (explodes, dumb AI)
c) Vahzilok Murk Eidolon (downgraded from a boss to a Lt, Midnight Grasp, Opressive Gloom)
Assume you're a level 11 blaster, and have build up but not aim. The Lts con yellow while the Embalmed cons white. -
First off, great work putting this all together, Dark.
Quote:I'll address the ones I can:Now, the one thing I could ask of the viewers is to see if my categorization of the various series are correct. Also, if one could give me an idea of what to put the 'Not Sure' series in, I would be grateful. I believe that I got everything correctly +/-'d, but with this many items, there's bound to be a mistake or two.
Kino's Journey - Listed twice (Drama and Not Sure). Is also +1 in Drama, +2 in NS.
Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars - Same thing. Crest is season 1, Banner is season 2. And Banner of the Stars II is season 3. Also, should be in Drama (Sci-Fi/Space Opera to be exact).
Jin-Roh - Move to Action/Drama
Lost Universe - Toss up between Drama and Comedy (made by same guy who did Slayers series after all).
Gundam UC - This is a full timeline of individual series and OVAs and not really an individual show that can be rated as such. I recommend either removing or adding the +1 to each individual show.
Macross - Same as Gundam UC. There's too many individual shows comprising the metaseries to make the rating remotely useful.
