Apparently sonic blast and rad works better the other way arround in the long run. I'm sure both the defender and cor versions are awesome though. I have personaly seen a rad/sonic def solo (with a shivie, though I dont think the critter lasted long).... I think Jack in Irons... maybe the other. Was a long time ago. Not sure how hard he is on the AV/GM difficulty scale of things.

Also seens a Traps/Sonic Defender do well. It's likely a nice cor combo too.

Try a Fortunata that has "some" of the melee skills. Your tough but not scrapper/brute/tank yawn what can kill me? tough. You get blasts, melee, aoes a pbaoe in the claws and psi scream... Confuses and holds even an immob thats a decent damage blast at the same time. They ain't shabby.

I'm enjoying my widower and my Crabs too but... a Crab is cast pets aoe melee and blasts. They dont get much for control or the fun mess the mob's AI confuse and this lack of variety might bore you.

And electric/Ninja Stalker is quite fun too... for completely different reasons. It's got fun melee for a stalker and great defence. But its all defence and caltrops and trickery. Be on the edge o your seat cause when your hit... Your HIT! That'll wake yah up alright.

Plant/Rad troller is pretty neat fit.

DP/Dark cor was a blast... but now he is a bit pale compared to the Crabman. Crabbie cant heal and rez and debuff regen so well though... He's so much glorious blasty blastin out of a not so glass cannon though... hard to say.

Experiment with crazy builds. Avoid the nigh indestructable 3 classes to eliviate boredom. (mind you i play these guys a lot. I find them fun... I just know somebody whose yawning already at repetition is going to find them a tad dull... perhaps.)

A Crime Noir Cops/Mobster/Consulting detective pack? Mainly to score another trenchcoat some nice longer skirts. One that is more classic or even rumpled detective, less Matrix I'm so cool. Cigarettes (not that I condone smoking) for all 3 body types and a fancy cig in a holder for the fem fatale look... and to make up for not getting the big fat cig for the ladies. Deerstalker and tweed cloaks for all. Detective-ish emotes like peering around with a magnifyin' glass. Baton/Nightstick/blackjack twirling emotes like some of the npc's do. Suspenders and holsters like some npc's get. Actual PPD uniforms (both realities) Including the Preatorian "Inquisitor" class shoulders. Paragon PPD pants stripes by the way... must have. ';p I dunno I like them.

Oh yes and a shotgun that looks like a shotgun that you don't have to farm bank arms deals and cross your fingers to get. ;p Really... It's America... in the game. Don't you all have a shotgun? Kidding!

It's really a piety it wasn't ready for the Victoria Day weekend. After all Victorian Era and steampunk go hand in hand.

My first was a FF/Dark Defender in Beta. I remeber being able to shoot through my own pff with reduced accuracy. It was nice. Not uber but nice.

They aught to make em 5 bucks regular and have Dollar Days once per month, on random days. If one moth's dollar day doesn't gel with yer payday, next month's might.

I think overall... they'd see a hellah lotta more money action with transfers then they do now from volume alone.

They don't have it cause the Dev's know I'd make 4-6 of them with various secondaries only to discover that theme wise, I WANT to put them with a Dark assualt and or a Pistol assualt set.

Then I would bug the hell out of them for those. hehe

Which granted... Dark would be awesome.... and Pistols would underperform but look sassy doing it.

PS: Illusion qualifies in my brain as the 2nd most thematically and THE most Classically Evil of powersets in the game. It should have been avaible to Dominators from day one of red side's launch and damn whatever issues arrose from it.

There are only two thing that TF is good for. Freak tank badge and Exp. Cause it's mostly forced on yah. Few skippables.

I am missing my extra slots from victory and virtue. Also missing some unnasigned ones. Glad your working on getting them back for us.

Text font on the new UI could be "bigger"? I do like it's options though.

I adore that a tip will drop when you complete a tip mission provided your not over your count. That saves some time there. Thank you.

I would reccomend and Illusion/Rad. By the end lots of control, debuff plus damage and all your rad powers that effect damage outputExcept AM will even help you and your you and your unbuffable pets (the Army) just as much as it helps your buffable allies.... No wait... don't... he/she will feel like their just tagging along for exp by the end... (giggle)

Tried the stuff in there for security including trying to run as admin and user. Both botched with the same lame message. Old updater worked, so i'll stick with that till they... NCsoft THEMSELVES... FIX the new updater. As I'm a monthly subcriber only I can ditch with little burn any time... if I can't play when the old updater is dumped officialy for this turd sandwich withought me having to be a computer expert to force functionality out of it then.... it's been a fun 7 years. Cheerio all!

Blast them though. They did get me for all but two " booster " packs.... Oh cept the mac one just today while I thought ieverything was tickety boo on that first ill fated updater run... So all but one booster. (shakes fist) "Fix it Dev's! What am I "partly/fractionally" payin' yer paychecks for?" hehe

Phew. Well I didn't give up. Went through the steps suggested again and made sure to rightclick open the New NC soft updater and Hit "Run as Administrator."

I don't know if I just finaly got the stuff right or they got a hotfix going (if so Good show Dev's... I take most everything I said earlier back. hehe I was only blowing time and spouting off anyway. That had to be evident.)

Anyway... Updater started updating and seemed faster doing it. It just felt different. Low and behold after about 4 minutes she was done and loading game.

I suppose this is something they will investigate and I wish them luck. Especially for the Win XP users. 2 weeks ago... that would been me. Outta luck and hope unless they make an option for the older systems that can't/wont upgrade that SP3 or whatever thing.

Well Goodnight Forum friends... Off to play hour... then bed... then work. ;p No rest for the wicked.

Gosh it's hard to remeber all the soapboxes I've stood on.

Repulsion Bomb not needing an ally for target.... answered. And they gave it some damage.

*Shadowfall and Stealth not slowing you.

Decent damage for Defenders solo. I still like cors for scourge though my defendes are less painful. Recent Defenders have all been Sonic blast... for a reason. Which by the way... Sonic blast! thanks Dev's.

Fix the sleep hole in Dispersion bubble... kinda fixed that but not in the way I expected. they lowered the defense numbers in it but added psi... didn't ask for that. They could have at least kept defender Manuvers high enough to reach the old values but IO set bonuses will help if I ever bother to level a bubbler again that doesn't have pets... or sonic blast.

Dark armor armors not being exclusive. (didn't suggest that but agreeed with the suggestion.. didn't even know it was so when I read about it. Was stunned it was even set up so awkwardly )

Knockback protection for elec armor and willpower. Was tired of seeing folks forced to take leaping all the time for the sets that already didn't have it. Moot point now with knockback protect IO's. Still it seemed unjust for them to come out without them.

*Mobile Dark Servant. By the time I had my first Dark Miasma using toon high enough this was fixed so I neverhad to personaly suffer it.

Change power colours and weapon looks....

Pistols in any way shape or form as a powerset. Oddly enough the rogue Demonhunter alt I envisioned for this is no longer a priority mentaly but it was still nice to get them. I made a magic wielding cowboy. Hexslinger. Yeehaw... Who also enjoys the improved over the years dark miasma. *see above.

Oh Trenchcoats and more specificly... OPEN coats! Yes long ago there was but one suit then slowly coats but save for the vesty, busboy type one with rolled up or no sleeves there were no OPEN coats... as if Paragon was always chilly or there was some dress code where opening a jacket was forbidden. ;p thankfully this isn't the case... hovever... Suggestions for a CLOSED buttoned up ala Gumshoe detective style Trenchcoat have yet to be answered.

Temp powers we can buy at gun/supply shop or from the 4 Origin starter contacts. MAGI, DATA, and the other various others from their vaults. They didn't do this but Craftable Temps are a fine Version of the same idea.

Reduce PFF base def numbers to 15% ish and let us SHOOT thriugh it. Even with reduced acc like in beta.

Match the Mezzes in the two PB attacsk that have Mez component. Stun and Stun or Hold and Hold. Not the useless stun and hold combo they are now.


Vehicle/Flying or Leaping, racing, tporting mount/costume overlay like a moterbike, mecha or winged horse, jet pack (kinda have them but not with player's own fast flight) Costume overwrite/cover for character's when activating travel powers... at least while outside. I could see a large steam powered horse being obtrusive in a office or cave map. heheh so yah... indoors not a chance.

That's all I can really think...

Wait! I kinda want Beta Ice Melee back for Brutes... and I guess scrappers. The version did loose Ice patch but had the very pretty to behold (if not function) Ice Sword Circle. Yes.. .some times we want powersets that may be subpar but look LOVELY. See Dual Pistols.. (giggle)

Stop making every new mob nearly ignore to-hit debuff.
That's not bloody fair. ;p I have never had to rely so much on the heal vs the darkest night debuff on my most recent Miasmaist as I did leveling that toon through Preatoria.

Fire/Dark Cor

Fire or Illu/Rad Controller I know some argue Kin but I like my pets even the unbuffable ones to get the most out of my other powers as possible. Debuffing the foe helps Phantom Army.

Plant/Rad or Kin Controller. So much fun... Course Fire/Rad or Kin likely eats mobs faster but is not as much fun on the trip up to 32. You did say awesome as early as possible so seeds wins again for making early stuff laughable fun.

DP/Dark Brute. I know... I haven't seen this combo mentioned myself about the boards so much. Who knows, perhaps it falls appart in later levels.... but I've been having fun with it into the teens, and it seems very strong. With my luck though it does fall appart into a steaming mess later. ;p

Oh and I made a Elec/Nin stalker. It takes a while to get fun... about into the teens/20's but once there... It isn't shabby at all.

It's not your fault they screem and howl. There is no "Shut the heck up you stupid demons!" command. I think all the other pets are pretty hush hush except for backgroung beeping from robots till the action starts but those deamons (I have one) just do their howl and snort and gibber and growl stuff all the time.

I suppose if she/he was currently having a borderline migraine we can forgive them but otherwise it's probably full on Mastermind hate. ;p

I have trouble sometimes graphic wise when there's a lot of stuff on the screen but that's my fault for playing with a comp that was new in 2004. lol

Oh When I'm leveling a toon I usualy toss any odd funky numbered genericly useful DO's and SO's I get up till about the 30's on the the market. Pretty darn low. Anything DO that is pre 15 and any lucky SO that's before 20 or just after. sometimes the ones tween 26-29 but often forget. I just rember that getting past basic's and then DO's as soon as possible is a blessing to anyone lucky enough to have them drop... If I can't use mine or theyre comming off in some teen freespec why not?

Never care what they sell for as long as somebody uses them.
