Inspired by KAKTOS' steampunk cowboy, I decided to create my own version. It really is a shame you can't have robot arms with coats, but oh well. He's a DP/Traps Corr, which I felt was fitting of the concept in general. =)

Quote:One of the problems I have with the darker colors their high saturation. Is there any way we can get some of the more advanced or... more subtle... color groupings for the costume pieces? I know that's not specific to FX, but I've often found that the colors we are given just doesn't seem to be enough... especially when certain pieces apply the colors differently.Have you tried tinting one of the existing eye glows to black, or another dark color? Since the particles for most of the auras are additive, darker colors actually increase their transparency.
For example.... The new Steampunk backpack applies the colors differently than, say, one of the cyborg shoulder pieces. So if I choose the same orange color, the backpack will have a redish orange color while the shoulder will be closer to the yellow side of orange. I can't help but think if we had a wider-array of colors to choose from, I could better compensate for this. -
Might as well show mine.
Blaster Furnace, eat your heart out.
Also, photo-op with Black Scorpion in Pocket D during the Beta Test. I think my Longbow costume annoyed him because he vanished a few seconds later.

Quote:Opinion is a wonderful thing, isn't it?Light, pop tunes are like nails being driven into the ears. There's everything wrong with that.
While I wouldn't normally listen to the song, I do appreciate the sentiment behind the lyrics... for I, too, am a lazy. Yes. A Lazy.
And Nimoy dialed it to 11. -
I've seen this video twice now... and I just noticed he's pissing in the sink in the beginning.

I was thinking something more like WTF BOOM!
-
Warning, incoming rant.
I've been on the fence with 'The event' from day one. It had so much potential but never really saw it through. And... to be honest... I'm not sure why it didn't work for me.
Well, for one... the pilot didn't help it much. They had so much back-story to tell and fed it ALL to us in flashbacks. I know it's easier... but for cry'n out loud... it just got annoying after a while.
I also think the week-to-week writing was pretty bad. There's a difference between being mysterious and just being vague... and clearly this show crossed that line. We didn't even get to the title of the show until the final episode! Was 'The event' the attempted assassination of the President? The deportation of the plane? The planned virus out-break? Nope! It's something that happens after the arrival of the rest of the aliens.
The timing of their plot points was rather off too. We have to sit through most of the season (and that idiotic break in between) with the idea that these 'aliens' look exactly like us and speak English fluently from the start... only to find out they were here before us on the last few episodes. That makes sense. Why not throw that out in the middle of the season, at least?
Why did Tomas have to die? His character was MUCH more interesting than Sophias 'concerned mother' schtick. That crap got confusing. She was good as the anti-Tomas... decent as the wise alien leader... but absolutely horrible as the "I don't like it but I'll kill you all" lady. They should have killed Sophia off instead. That seems like it would have been the more natural story progression.
They should have given more story-time to the sentinels side-plot. That had much more potential, imo. I get the feeling that would have been part of season 2, though.
Such a shame... I originally thought this show could be interesting on the same level as Lost... when done right. But they never found their stride and, instead, turned into 24 with aliens, less torture and no Jack Baur anywhere in sight. -
Here is what I have for ya. It's a variation on what ultrawatt put up last. It concentrates on melee instead of sm/l defenses, although both are pretty high. Unfortunately I could no get as much recharge, but I cheapened the build by getting rid of those pesky Purples. This also has taunt... which I think could come in handy.

Feel free to laugh at it, if you like =) -

Ha haaaa.... hyperbole... -
I like Beeker as Cyclops. It seems fitting for the character... and I would love to see his eye blast back-fire/reflect back at him and he'd panic/run away Beeker-style.

Quote:Obvious to you, not so obvious to me. Impact lines would have helped me identify them as bullet trails... or... perhaps... even show a white bullet silhouette with a trail behind it in a similar fashion... I can see one fitting between the top bullet trail and the line that defines the ground/sky.. and right in the middle between the shield and the soldier.Yeah the arm is a too "stylized". I think it's the hand/wrist that looks a little too unrealistic. On the other hand (no pun intended) the "lines" you're talking about are obviously meant to be bullets being deflected by the shield. I don't really have a problem with that.
I know, I know... I'm picky. I'm an artist too... Every detail counts. And, for what it's worth... I'm just as hard on my pieces as I am on this one. lol. -
The arm is bugging the crap out of me. Every other silhouette has great detail to it, but that arm is so horrible...
I also don't like have the lines above and below the movie title go over the shield and down at an angle. That's just weird. -
I actually thought of Gladiator first... because of the whole 'You have to fight in an arena' deal. Then Clark did the jumping slow-motion punch... He might as well have yelled 'For Sparta!' while doing it.
-
Well, I can say one thing... Clark looked awesome in that cape. Hopefully they were using that as a test for the way the real cape shots. Also, Lex commercial = awesome. I sincerely hope they Lex's return as open ended so they don't have a chance to screw it up and make it look stupid. Because if there's one thing I've learned from watching Smallville these last few seasons... it's that they've gotten really good at building up the story... but have absolutely no idea on how to conclude it.
Watched Supernatural as well to get the bad '300'-ish and sappy-love-bird (seriously, I know they're together... but they really need to stop the gushy crap) taste out of my mouth.
I particularly enjoyed the 'Jefferson Starships'. lol. -
Moooooooooon Baaaaaaaaaaaase.
*cough*
All that I ask is that you continue to consider the pressing matters that effect the playerbase in addition to all that other good stuff. For example... I just did a BAF with a full league... and the lag was nearly unbearable (So much so that it was preventing me from doing my role effectively because of the major button lag... which I'm certain exceeded the recharge times on many of my powers). Seriously, I had my graphics turned all the way down... and I'm reasonably certain it's not my machine.
Anyway, looking forward to the new content and all. =) -

Yeah, I remember the attack pretty well and it happens for a split second. Later, when Eli is by the gate trying to figure out how to send a signal to Destiny, you see a large chunk missing from the upper right hand section of the gate.
-
Oh, okay. Perhaps I've watched Lost too many times.... because I'm fine with having some things unexplained. lol.
-
Okay, here's my build. It's not pretty... I did it right after the game went auto-stamina and never really gave it a second look. Feel free to provide any advice if you happen to think of anything.

Eli and the 'other' destiny crew wouldn't have reason to know of the drones being able to detect open Gates.
However, I do believe there could be a reason why the drones never found their civilization. We never saw the drones power up until Destiny got close enough to them. It's possible that... while powered down (and in stand-by mode?)... the drones have a limited proximity to which they can detect technology.
After all, they didn't know what the drones are and we know the drones were following the Destiny Crew. It's possible they followed Destiny into a region where there were no drones. Or there were drones, but they were powered down and their gates were far enough away to not be detected. -
This is my Crab/Bane, Agent Nobody. His Cloaking Device allows him to bend light and create any disguise he wants.
Here is Nobody without his disguises. I was going for a look similar to the scorpinoids.
Here he is as a Longbow.
Here is is as a Wolf Spider. Ha! Get it?
And here his device is on the fritz...

I have a 50 Stone Melee/Elec Armor brute I'm wanting to run through the trails.
Back before Incarnates were around, Elec Armor Brutes got a small boost in the form of Energize. I tried to create an IO build that would minimize the powers downtime, but I ended up having to sacrifice a lot more than I would have liked in order to get the most out of the power.
Well, Incarnates have rolled around and we now have more ways to improve recharge time.
So, I guess the question is: Is it worth not increasing my resists using incarnates in order to get better recharge?
