Any plan that requires you to run your buddy through with a sword may not have been the best thought out plan, but hey, if it works go with it.

I am disappointed however that once again it's a filler episode that has only superficial connections to a Darkseid confrontation.

Well, I can say one thing... Clark looked awesome in that cape. Hopefully they were using that as a test for the way the real cape shots. Also, Lex commercial = awesome. I sincerely hope they Lex's return as open ended so they don't have a chance to screw it up and make it look stupid. Because if there's one thing I've learned from watching Smallville these last few seasons... it's that they've gotten really good at building up the story... but have absolutely no idea on how to conclude it.

Watched Supernatural as well to get the bad '300'-ish and sappy-love-bird (seriously, I know they're together... but they really need to stop the gushy crap) taste out of my mouth.
I particularly enjoyed the 'Jefferson Starships'. lol.

300? Really? I was reminded more of Gladiator. Even the music sounded similar to Gladiator's even down to the "ooooo-ah-ah-aaaaahhh-uuuhhhhh" it had.

I actually thought of Gladiator first... because of the whole 'You have to fight in an arena' deal. Then Clark did the jumping slow-motion punch... He might as well have yelled 'For Sparta!' while doing it.

Yeah, the director/editor seemed to really, really like slow-mo shots.

And Supernatural was great, although next week's episode looks amazing. Thankfully the Supernatural crew is actually good at pulling off great stories, and not just building them up to let them crash.

The combination of which is why I thought of the Spartacus miniseries rather than either Gladiator or 300. Indeed, I even called it 'Spartacusville' when discussing it with a friend (yes, I have a few of those, hard as it may be to believe ).

Havent you learned anything over 10 years. Every episode is filler for this show. They introduce a baddie within about 10 minutes of the season, maybe an entire 25 minutes of the next 20 episodes is relevent, and about the last 20 minutes of the season finale. So really next week, and the first 90 minutes of the season finale i am betting will be clark going emo over having to wear glasses and be considered a fool in public.

My expectations for the finale is something like this...

90 minutes of crap.

Then Ollie is going to go dark sied and be granted some type of powers and have to fight clark again. This fight will take maybe 30 seconds of screen time tops and will probably end with no real punchs being thrown and clark probably just breaking Ollies bow. Then Ollie comes around to his senses, Dark Sied punishes him for him, Clark takes one shot to put him away end of the conflict.

Afterward of course Metropolis will have been covered in dark clouds and a lightning storm or something dumb that will clear away, and of course there will be a tv camera there taking a picture of clark...or better yet young Jimmy Olsen (the younger brother) catching a pic of the blur. It will end with Clark in superman costume getting the key to the city or something like that at a press conference and we will get some crappy pull back through a TV shot and see Lex watching it on TV who will do some snickering and the credits will roll.

But that said im really at this point only watching to see how bad they can end it. I mean if great writers like BSG had can write that pile of ****, just imagine how much more stink a team or terrible writers like smallvilles can do.
