Wow. That concept art is beautiful. I wish they had bigger size and resolution so I could use one of them as my wallpaper.
In regards to the clip... 'Star Wars of the DC Universe'? Sounds *very* promising. If the movie is even close to that kind of a comparison... I won't care how crappy the art design is... I'm THERE. -
Quote:lol, brilliant.Don't mean to necro-post but this parody clip is just too funny not to share.

At the very least, this seems to offer more than the friggen emote pack.
Although I am a bit disappointed with the association between 'Natural' and 'Nature'. All Soldiers of Arachnos are Natural... But have powers that have nothing to do with Nature. Granted... I could see it being difficult to find an aura that yells 'Natural' when you see it... which is pretty much the purpose of this pack (for people to be able to identify your origin by the specific cape/aura). And while I do believe some 'storm' based characters could benefit from the aura... I also think it should have been packaged in a different booster.
All in all, I think I'll buy this when I manage to renew my subscription. -
I haven't been playing a Bane for very long, but it seems to me Defense Soft cap and Recharge is your best friend. The more Crowd Control is up, the more they're on their butts. It's practically a guaranteed knockdown, even on bosses. Knock'm down, hit'm with the 2 low mace attacks (also the fastest animating attacks) then knock'm down again.
From what I can tell, you won't be able to compete all that well with Widows in terms of defenses... but you get something they don't: Damage mitigation. It just means you have to play a little smarter.
I'll post my build when I get back home, to see if it helps. Although, I'm not entirely sure if it's all that much better than yours.
*edit*
Okay, clearly I don't know what I'm talking about. I just both your builds and even though I didn't put any purples in mine... they are significantly better in terms of stats. lol
I'll just be on my way now. -
I'm not letting it ruin the movie for me. I'm still going to see the movie. I hope I'm wrong and it actually looks good on screen and in motion...
I'm just saying, I think it sucks and doesn't bode well for the artistic direction the movie is taking. You can make things look alien without making them organic and Alien™. It really shows the art departments lack of creativity. It actually reminds me of Special FX in the movie Spawn. You remember that? It had a very gritty look to it. At least then it made sense because... well... It's friggen Spawn.
I tell you what, though... I can overlook all this if they manage to animate the rings constructs decently. -
This permanently takes Weezer off my 'you suck' list. I put them on the list after hearing that one song for the bajillionth time. Can't remember the name of it... but it was particularly annoying...
*edit* Beverly Hills! That's the one. God I hated that song. -

I never took Venom Grenade on my Bane. IMO, Surveillance and Shatter Armor are enough.
-
I was just thinking this. Personally, I think it could use a bit more base resist. I'd rather like making it the resist equivalent to SR... The only problem with that is the fear of making it over-powered thanks to easily gained Defense through IO bonuses.

Quote:Okay, then perhaps it could be done like the Fitness Pool is being done in I19. No changes will be made until after you respec. No harm, no foul. But that would be assuming that you would get another power at that level that will accept Resistance sets.....in a powerset that ALREADY gets higher resistance numbers than the others.
What you describe here is pretty much the definition of a violation of the Cottage Rule.
Yes, Electric Armor DID get Conserve Power changed to Energize....but it still functions the same as Conserve Power, just for less of a discount and for a shorter duration.
If you change a passive resistance power to a self rez it is completely changing the function of the power....even if you can slot resistance sets in it.
Edit: I find it somewhat amusing that the OP is suggesting that a set be given a self rez, when most other players would rather the rez be removed in sets that already have them....in favor of something more useful.
Also.... I'm pretty sure Elec Armor doesn't have the highest resist numbers. In Energy, definitely. All around? Hardly. Unless for some strange reason you're counting Power Surge. Otherwise... Hell, I've got a Crab that has better resist numbers. -
Maybe it will look better in motion, I don't know. All I know is the thing in that picture is hideous. As an artist, I want to punch whoever created that monstrosity of 'hip' and 'grunge'.
Yes, I'm aware that... because this is alien tech... it shouldn't look like our version of a lantern. But for Christs sake, at least make it look good. That thing looks like an alien eyeball with ears that was left in the friggen sewers and got chewed on by radioactive rats.
Nobody designed this. This came from their toilets. They molded it around a glass bowl and did a 3D scan for the artists to touch up and make all glowy.
*sigh*
Sorry, that was probably uncalled for. I got a little worked up. -
Quote:You forgot Brutes. They were affected by the change. All they have to do is go into the Elec armors power, change what it is and what it does... and poof: The changes are made. It's not like Elec Armor Tanks/Scrappers/Brutes are going to be missing Grounded and have to fill the hole. Devs will replace that power with something and then *that* power assumes the same spot and slotting that Grounded had.But....what about all the characters that would suddenly become broken because they still have a power that doesn't exist anymore?
If you take away Grounded, suddenly you have a whole lot of characters with a power that they aren't supposed to have. You can see an example of something similar by looking at Electric Armor itself. I refer to the fact that Scrappers and Tanks get Energize earlier than Brutes and Stalkers do. They could do that because when they made that change, Electric Armor was brand new to scrappers and tanks and there were no characters in existence to be affected by the change. If they had moved Energize up in the set for the pre-existing characters it would likely have broken them in various ways when they suddenly had powers they couldn't possibly have at that level. -
Whoever the hell is doing the art direction in this movie... needs to be shot in the foot.
Just because it's alien... it doesn't mean it has to be this bio-organic-glowy crap.
Also... I'd like to know whose advertising department bought that award for them. Seriously, not all that many people even *know what a Green Lantern is*. It can't seriously be the most anticipated movie. -
Quote:This. I think my final build for my Bane gives me an average of 10 to 12 percent.Banes get resistance, but even when fully slotted the armors don't offer that much resistance.
I do agree that DDR shouldn't be allowed to most class types. Who's ever going to pick poor ol' Super Reflexes if every friggen set has DDR and a good chance at softcap? -
I like this idea... but... might I also add a suggestion of my own?
The exclamation points can get annoying... in terms of turning them off. I don't like having to dig through the list-o-stuff to get to the option... so perhaps there can be a little X just above them? Don't like the popups? Boom, exclamations gone. -

Blue Ribbit: Isn't that the point of a decoy, though?
In all honesty... I hadn't thought of PvP applications. Do the decoys names show up to the enemy? I mean, if it shows 'Phantom Decoy' to everyone, I don't see much of a problem in terms of PvP confusion anyway.
Red Valkyrja: That does seem like a better way to do it. I could see how some people wouldn't like their Decoy Army pets to change either. Adding it as an option makes everyone happy. =) -
With the inclusion (and almost downright obsession) of doppleganger type enemies... I was wonder if it were possible to alter the Decoy Army power so that they looked like your character?
It's possible it would require quite a bit of an investment, but I think it would be a rather interesting alteration. Especially if you could choose which costume number they use in the tailor. -
As with everyone else... I loved this episode. It's so *nice* to finally have progress in the show.
One thing that bugs me... and it's a bit nit-picky, time-travel-paradoxy stuff...
If Brainiac 5 felt like he needed to go to the past to help Clark... Well... the future we saw didn't look all that bleak. I suppose the future changed to a more positive one as soon as Clark jumped forward in time (being self-caused... as this future provided him with the moment which allowed him to move on and become that future self)....
Then again, maybe I missed something. I didn't read the headlines on a few of the newspaper articles they showed. Maybe this future had a horrible war (hence the nuke) and forced Superman to step up... and Brainiac 5 traveled back to get him to 'mature' sooner so to prevent the war all together.
I'm going to have to watch the episode again. I'm starting to realize I wasn't watching with a clear head. I guess being hit with storyline progress after having gone so long without it really hinders my ability to pay attention to the details. -
Interestingly enough, Will Power has a self rez and that's the set that seems to need it the least. I don't think Elec Armor needs a self rez, it just needs to... ya know... die less.
Personally, I'm in favor of adding a more interesting component to the set. Either adding Conductive Aura to the arsenal...I wouldn't even mind if they watered down the -end or simply just took the +regen effect and added it to Lightning Field.
Or (if the devs want to keep Conductive Aura unique to Elec Control) come up with some sort of targeted toggle that slows the targets regen a bit, while improving your own. You could even have this cool effect of a lightning stream flowing between yourself and the target... -
He's listed in the batman villains wiki page... but I guess that doesn't mean much...
-
I don't know if this has been said, but I would like to have alternate animations for Super Reflexes. Less 'bob and weave'...on activation... Perhaps a more straight-laced 'I am faster than you and I know it'. Ya know... A zen kinda of deal. Standing straight up, yet relaxed.
-
Quote:Holy crap... That's crazy stuffNo idea who he'll be playing but I'd say he's definitely up to the task of playing a Batman villain.
Also... Clock King?
Kill the mustache, add a suit and bowler... I could see it. -
At the very least, I think Peter knows. He's very observant (as shown in the scene with Fauxlivia in the restaurant, sizing people up from a distance). I think he's running a long con, to see if he can get info from her.
Or if I'm wrong... at the very least... they'll find out from the security camera at the jail cell, showing her giving Newton that 'pill' to kill himself... or Peter finding the backup memory while he's at her place.
Walter may have a feeling that something is off... but I'm not sure if he's able to put it together... simply because his level of social awareness doesn't seem to be as high as Peters. -
You know what drives me insane? Random ladies underwear ads that pop up while I'm trying to look at this video on my college's computer. You know what drives me even more insane? When the 'video' is actually nothing but audio.
