So, the Scream Awards just ended...

...and the final award was for Most Anticipated Movie. The winner: Green Lantern.

Ryan Reynolds came out behind a giant GL ring. The best part was that before he appeared, the whole stage turned green, and they broadcast him giving the classic GL speech. It gave me chills. :O

EDIT: And it's online already http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJxnsblGIkE

Yeah, that was hokey.

Why give an award for being anticipated? What does it prove, except that the marketing department is doing a good job?

yeah, the whole show is kind of pointless. I originally only watched to see the BttF reunion, which only consisted of Fox and Walken.

Lloyd.

Walken would have been... interesting.

The GEICO commercial made me grin.

Aren't all awards shows sorta pointless? And I notice they're just calling it "Scream" now instead of the "Scream Awards," speaking of marketing.

I'm still surprised at all the names they get for the show. For crying out loud, it's freaking Spike TV. When did Spike TV get any pull?!

But the advance movie/TV clips and comic book appreciation are nice. Could have lived without seeing anything from the Human Centipede though. >.<

Yeah, I looked away from the TV when that part came up. I don't need that kind of image in my head.

It's weird, the show is like the MTV Awards 2.0 or something.

Haha. Same here for the Best Mutilation bit.

There was another clip snuck in there though too. Saw that full on, sadly >.<

Yea....the Human Centipede.....ugh, try not to think about it, however when it pops in my head I shiver....

Personally though I could have lived without seeing anything from Twihard.....

Hearing Reynolds recite the Green Lantern oath on the clip seems off to me. To me it seems to lack the "ompfh" that I kind of imagine in my head. Hopefully it's just me, and hearing it on the big screen will make it sound better.

It's just the calm way he did it over the clip that was odd.

Personally, I'm fond of the public speaker method they usually used on JLU, where it got louder as they went, ending with the biiig GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT! For that matter, I think of Phil LaMarr's voice as John Stewart when I read the oath in the comics.
