  1. What is this challenge? This sounds like something I would like to try. I need to read more of the boards I guess.
  2. I've seen a rock tank get dropped by soul storm. Your best bet is to stack up on break frees or purples and make that attack miss. Then zap her with the crey freeze gun to slow the recharge a little. Although I'm not too sure how much it will help vs an AV.
  3. Maybe I should have added in the fact that I also have those acc bonuses from lotg and CI. And the kinset IO is a higher to hit then foc acc but foc acc is still a good power all around. The end drain can be fixed by hitting conserve power at half end. At that level you have pretty much taken all the needed powers. The res to hit is almost worth it in itself. Yellows increase acc and perception not to hit. Do you know how many yellows you would need to overpower a to hit debuff toggle tacked on to you? I don't. Not enough inspiration slots available to find out. I put this to the test already in my AE arc vs a ill/dark miasma EB with an alt with the to hit buff IO and acc bonuses and an alt with the same acc bonuses but with foc acc instead of kimset. The kimset alt spent its time swinging at air with the darkness night toggled on him. I switched to the alt with foc acc and had no problems. Res to tohit debuffs is as important as the actual to hit buff %. I am suddenly reminded of the grant cover argument. But that's another thread lol.
Edit: Now that I think about it, the alt with foc acc had less acc bonuses. But its a BS/regen so it gets more acc anyway so it was still close to the same.

MG need to recharge in 4.488
SL need to recharge in 4.62
Smite need to recharge in 2.112

    [/ QUOTE ]

The actual amount of required +recharge for each of them is...

    ((base recharge)/(required recharge)) - 1

    Smite: 6/2.112 - 1 = 184%
    MG: 15/4.488 - 1 = 234%
    Siphon: 10/4.62 - 1 = 116%

You can generally get 95% from slotting and 70% from Hasten (when it's up), so you'd need 19% global recharge for Smite, 69% for MG, and none for Siphon Life.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Making the switch to this chain from the buzz saw shouldn't be an issue, correct? Or will I need to adjust my global. I have all of the single target attacks 5 slotted with CI only leaving out the acc/dmg/end, 3 lotgs and 2 DW sets in recon and DP. And hasten of course. This is on my dark/regen. I figured it would be easier to figure out on this one first then I'd work on my dark/wp scrapper and invul/dark tank. I think the tank would be the trickiest.

In short, you will die more then you miss. Lol but seriously, foc acc will allow you to hit high def mobs with ease. Like those annoying rikti drones, cot demons, nemesis with veng, and those cim traitors. You can even hit mako threw elude easier. Not only that, its res to tohit debuffs is strong. Great in pvp for spotting stalkers since the perception buff stacks with heighen senses. I think it caps it though I'm not sure. I'm not into remembering the numbers as much as I remember what I was able to do with the power. I must warn you that its a real end hog so be ready to slot it. I normaly six slot it with gussians fire control for the def to all bonus and the build up proc. BU + BU proc + critical = a beautiful 4 digit orange number and then some.

thats old focused accuracy, its value is now minimal, especially with IO set bonuses offering more.

It used to be 20% tohit base, now its 5, sure it has some accuracy but nothing awesome. What is does retain however is the massive endurance cost which is akin to running 3 secondary toggles.

The only thing FA brings now is a way to empty your blue bar faster, any other benifits are better found elsewhere, like tactics and set bonuses. the res to -tohit is nice but hell, pop a yellow when you need to.

It WAS a great power with end costs to balance it, now its junk.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its true that its not what it was but I did all those things in its nerfed state. As far as going for leadership over focc acc, I'd rather take conserve power to help with the long fights and the endurance problem. Those leadership toggles can be just as bothersome stacked on to wp. That's 6 toggles not including sprint. 8, if you have tough and weave. Two more end hog toggles. I don't need to pop yellows with foc acc. I was fighting nemesis in that rwz mish with manti and posi on it and I had no problems hitting them even with stacked on veng. (I don't think its fair they can do that but still) well, when that third stack came on, I had problems then. Granted, old foc acc would have hit threw the third stack too. But I think its still worth taking if you have room to slot it right.
  6. Fire scrappers rule. I was gonna make a fire/regen or fire/wp but that would have been way too easy. You have 3 attacks that do two types of dmg and if you take fire armor as a 2ndary, you can get two build up powers. Damage, damage, and more damage. That's what scrappers do.

  8. I have a dark/regen, BS/regen, dark/WP, and a BS/WP. All four are 50 and IOed out. I can't say who was better out of my dark/regen and wp/regen because my dark/regen was my first alt and I pretty much didn't know what I was doing. (I didn't get a travel of any kind till 22 just show you how little I knew). And its too close to call with the BS/regen and the BS/WP. To me, it comes down to if you want to work or not. Hitting the right clicks at the right time on a /regen will keep you in the game just as long as a /WP. If you get hit slows on a regen, you are in trouble. You get hit with -res and or -regen on a /WP, you are in trouble. The clicks of a /regen can help you survive that. Just like with any set, know your weakness. But if I had to pick what to play over the other, the idea of getting quick recovery before level 10 on a /regen would have sold me.

IMO, most sets for any AT have two skippable powers in both the prime and the secondary. For scrappers, that is normally the first tier and confront in the prime. In shields (the 2ndary), those powers would be PF and GC. Powers are normally skipped to make room for the fitness, travel, and what other pool one may want to add to best fit their fighting style. In some cases, concept comes into play and changes the selection. If the scrapper's playstyle is one that moves around dropping one mob guy after the other, then GC would be as beneficial as steamy mist is to the team on a storm troller that stays at the back to see everything and cast holds and other mezzes. And that power has a wider range. Some of the post I've read are treating shield scrappers with out GC like an emp that didn't that didn't take fort or RA. The buff is good but a team isn't gonna wipe because the scrapper didn't pick up a power that grants an arms length def buff. I know its longer then that but you get the idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You completely missed my point. It actually grants the scrapper some bonuses. That's why I took it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I understand that. I was just answering the OP's question and pointing out how some people treated /shield scrappers for not taking the power. When I first saw that power as an option, I knew that this would happen. Scrappers have survived w/o buff other powers for over 4 years. Why is it an issue not to take the one (1) that is out? I never said not take it. I was just saying why people don't take and why it shouldn't be a big deal if they don't. Its not a big deal if you do take for that matter. I know it has some uses for the user. Let that scrapper decide if they want those debuff res or not. A scrapper is now getting grief for not taking a buff other power. Seriously, how laughable is that?

Will do. I'm lazy, though, so I'm just going to copy and paste.

Daolong, you rock. If it wasn't for your advice about minions and Invincibility, I might still be struggling against easy AVs like Battle Maiden instead of doing that stuff. Also used your idea to use Council minions against Rommie, as you can see.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lazy? You just spent 6 hours soloing a task force. That's far from lazy. I don't like doing the TV trial because of the wait at the end. The thought of sitting there pounding away at AV level mobs all day makes me bored. Maybe I just have a short attention span. Being able to do that is beyond awsome. Btw, what is the RWZ challenge. I've soloed a pylon with my BS/regen before but don't think that's the same thing.

    Question on /Wp

Both of those builds have given me some ideas for my new project, my BS/WP scrapper. I have to admit that getting positional def was far from my mind with the wp set. I knew there was good reason to start reading the boards
  13. I've tried several things seeing that I prttey much respec my dark/regen every new issue just for kicks. I've found you can slot for recharge and def with no problems. You can also get your regen up to 800% before IH and have about 15 to 20% def to all all while having prema dull pain that will cap your HP while its up. This is without any purple sets. I'm sure if I put together a build with purples, I will most likely be able to get perma hasten as well.
  14. You can't go wrong with any /regen. That set is the best out the gate, imo. Though, I did have an easy time with /wp as well. The best part about /regen is that two of the powers (revive and resilance) can be skipped or taken later after you have the powers you want. Before they changed MOG, I would have said 3 can be skipped and MOG could be left alone all together. So yeah, any set with /regen. Take it. Love it. Get to 50 and keep loving it. Seriously, you get a power that's better then stamina (quick recovery) well before lvl 20. How can anyone dispute about that?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I've been leveling an Elec Brute. He's currently at 33 and it's just horrid right now. He can't take alphas to save his life.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I feel your pain. My axe/ela brute is stuck at 33. Same problem along with end drain issues due to axe being an end hog and running 4 toggles and sprint. So basicly 5 toggles. The knock downs help a little, though. Another problem I have is I can't build furry to save my life. I feel more like a weak tauntless tank then like the beast of a brute I was expecting. Now my DB/WP/Soul brute is a monster. I need to get my axe/ela to that status as well.

The other powerset that you could "revamp" into a "new" powerset is the Dark set. This is a very underused power, IMHO, and one that should be modified to be available to a number of other ATs.

Of course, the order of the powers could be adjusted as needed, or even a couple of substitutions made, if necessary to balance. But I tried to keep them balanced to the other sets in each AT. Some possibilities I've come up with include:

[u]Dark Control[u] (For Controller and Dominator Primary)

    1) Petrifying Gaze
    2) Tar Patch
    3) Tenebrous Tentacles
    4) Life Drain
    5) Cloak of Darkness
    6) Dark Pit
    7) Fearsome Stare
    8) Black Hole
    9) Dark servant

    [u]Dark Assault[u] (For Dominator Secondary)

    1) Dark Blast
    2) Smite
    3) Gloom
    4) Shadow Maul
    5) Soul Drain
    6) Nightfall
    7) Dark Regeneration
    8) Moonbeam
    9) Blackstar

    [u]Dark Blast[u] (Blaster Primary)

    1) Dark Blast
    2) Gloom
    3) Moonbeam
    4) Dark Thoughts (Aim-type power)
    5) Nightfall
    6) Torrent
    7) Touch of Fear
    8) Dark Obliteration
    9) Blackstar

    and

    [u]Dark Manipulation[u] (Blaster Secondary)

    1) Shadow Punch
    2) Tar Patch
    3) Smite
    4) Cloak of Darkness
    5) Soul Drain
    6) Dark Regeneration
    7) Dark Consumption
    8) Oppressive Gloom
    9) Midnight Grasp

Sometimes you don't have to re-create the wheel....or design a new wheel altogether....to come up with something that could bring new interest to a variety of ATs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Except blackstar on a dom is a bit much and instead of turning dark miasma into a prime set, make adjustments to the mezzes and make it a troller secondary and create a brand new shadow/dark control set. Those shadow imps Black Swan has would be perfect for lvl 32. And add shadow meld to the scrapper dark epic set.

    ...farming that is.

It's simple. Farming is producing crops for harvest. Before the Mission Architect, players couldn't produce ANYTHING in the game. Thus, farming did not exist.

So, what were they doing? Ranching. They were herding pre-existing cattle into fenced in areas for eventual slaughter. That's right, all they were doing was ranching.

Farming did not exist before the Mission Architect. Now, by the implementation of the Mission Architect system where you can make your own enemy groups, farming now exits.

The developers, with Issue 14, finally created farming. For realz.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, by this logic, can you say illusionist farming is really a form of breeding?
