  1. Yes I've read all the guides on how to copy the game over from my other hard drive. I always end up with it downloading Piggs for a half an hour before I give up and quit.

I copied the contents over to C:\program files\games\COH
I copied the cohupdater.exe over to desktop
I ran the updater and directed the game to install to C:\program files\games\COH
Thats when it downloads forever and never stops. It has a low file size to download and a short time, but when it gets to the Pigg files, it goes past the target file size and the time left goes to 123432423421234123:45:54 or something similar.
I can't figure out what is going on??
  2. I only slotted brawl and boxing for the set bonuses, I didn't want to sacrifice a power to get another melee power. It was easier to add three slots to brawl. Without it I'm below softcap to smash/lethal.
My attack chain will be Incinerate - Scorch - Cremate - Scorch.
Ya its expensive but I can work it a little at a time starting with the defense.
I'm curious about possible positive changes I could make.
  3. Tried to change the title to better reflect the direction thread went but it wouldn't. Oh well, still would like some feedback on the build.
  4. Here's a s/l softcapped version of the build. I also decided to go with scorch - cremate - scorch - incinerate when doing ST damage. Does it look like this would be viable? Would you make any changes?

  6. I'm working on a fire/WP Scrapper build and want to softcap her to smashing/lethal damage.
My question is, how can I factor the -tohit debuff of Rise to the Challenge into it?
Is having 42% s/l defense plus 3.75% tohit debuff the same as 45.75% def?
  7. Might want to consider Mako for Bile Spray. Its all toxic damage and Venom Grenade is -40% resist to toxic.
  8. I can't look at the build in Mids at the moment, but I did notice one thing. You're going to need 10-12% more global recharge for permanent hasten, 95% isn't going to cut it.
My DM/SR has 98.5% global recharge before hasten, and though its close, there's still a couple sec downtime.
  9. I would think it would be to your benefit to throw AS into the mix after placate and BU then return to the chain until BU is available again. Or at least placate before MG when its up.
  10. Reverence

    Solo'd GM

There's several GMs I can solo with my ill/rad/psi controller, but not sure about any of my scrappers.
My controller did a pylon in 4:50
My best with my fire/shield with AAO maxed was 5:40 so far.
Fastest I've ever seen posted for a scrapper was a DM/shield with AAO and Soul Drain maxed the whole time in 4:32, and thats far from 360 DPS. But he got a mob of 11 lvl 51s around a GM and had a tray full of Big Reds.... never know.
  11. Your build doesn't look too different then mine, but I sacrificed a little def for extra resistance, and hasten to speed up build up, LR, and Energize. Maybe switch to body mastery to take focus acc. and hasten then skip caltrops.
  12. I have had a lot of fun with my ele/ele with his focus on smash/lethal Def. I can try and post my build later, currently at 37.88% to smash/lethal and 35% to melee. Add in your armors, CJ, tough and weave. As long as you work in hasten, Energize (which has end reduce and regen added so slot for recharge and healing), and power sink and stamina, you shouldn't have endurance issues.
That's kept me in good shape with the combo of defense, resistance, knockdown and end drain.
  13. I found that as long as I had Super speed and a stealth IO in sprint, I never needed flash freeze. I just hit aim+BU+RoA and qued up Drain Psyche. Soon as they agroed, I was buffed and they were getting hit with RoA as I used PsW and Explosive Arrow.
  14. I have done +4 lvl 8 man maps with my shield/ss tank no problem. Rage makes hitting +4s accurately less of an issue. The Rage crash isn't an issue if Rage stacks at least for a couple seconds, then there's no -def factor. You just have to be prepared for the -20 end and lack of damage for a little while. Personally I use Melt Armor on that build, not huge difference but sure helps with +4s for some extra damage. Footstomp is up often and has very reliable Knock down.
DM is great with high level enemies as long as your Soul Drain hits, one suggestion is to take and slot up Focus Acc, and just toggle it on to hit Soul Drain, then turn it back off to avoid the End/sec of that toggle. DM is lacking the AoE department, but is good for survivability.
Willpower is nice if you're softcapped, just be careful of alpha strikes. Shield is easy to softcap and still have room in a good build for Aid Self if you don't take DM for that heal. Invuln is nice with its added +to-hit, high HP, self heal, high s/l resists and softcapped def potential. I think a lot of the primaries can keep you alive, even a well built electric armor, its more of a matter of being able to defeat the mobs without taking an extreme amount of time, and/or running out of end doing it.
  15. I'm thinking along the lines of +2 level 8 man set with no bosses. I already have a shield/ss that can farm the +4 lvl 8 man map no problem. I'm not sure the xp gain is worth the slower time to clear though.
  16. No ideas or comments? help me out here guys
  17. This might be biased posting on the scrapper board, but I am leaning towards a farming ele/ele scrapper or tank. My main question is, do you think the extra damage the scrapper will do, will outweigh the extra survivability of the tank?

Mind you on my scrapper build I work in about 8.5% melee def from weave and CJ and 24.3% from bonuses for 32.8% melee defense, 5 sec downtime on Energize, but only have a dismall 48% resist to s/l. I would go with spine/ele but I already have a built spine/fire and haven't ever had an electric melee toon yet.

This build is messed up on Mids, but I can still post it (once I save it, it isn't editable again it messes up).

Think its doable? What enemies could I farm that are energy based attacks, yet, are not highly resistant to energy damage? Siege AV enemies possibly?

    Farming Tanks

I've farmed with my fire/fire/pyre, SD/SS/Pyre, spine/fire/body, Fire/SD/Pyre, and my arch/mm/pyre blaster.... Blaster was probably the fastest depending on the mobs. It makes a big difference as to what mobs you do. I can even keep up with a fully IO'd fire/kin/earth in a demon farm barring few misses (the only downfall to the arch/mm is missing one of your main 3 or 4 hits, thats all you need to down the whole mob and picking off stragglers takes too much time). Once you add in Bosses, blaster has a hard time keeping up at all though.

I have to say I enjoy the SD/SS/Pyre far more farming then the fire/fire/pyre due to the survivability in almost any situation and having to heal less with all the KD.
  19. I am having the same problem. It says that I am logged in and does not give the server selection so I can pick a character to copy.

seems to me that flytrap will only attack a mob that has already attacked me. If I confuse or lock down the mob before they attack, he stands there doing nothing. Test this and see for yourself

[/ QUOTE ] There's already an issue like this in the list. Does it address your concern?

[/ QUOTE ]mostly, but I was hoping to narrow down the specific circumstances this issue occurs

Does not work with Fire Imps on Fire Control.

I slotted this and tested on the same mobs with no buffs to damage on imps and their damage never was effected over the course of fighting for over 30 minutes straight.

on the other hand, I have one in Singularity, and I see the "your attack strength has increased" sometimes when I *summon* it.

    so yeah, completely messed up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not positive but its possible it has the chance to buff you with BU when you use the power, then its supposed to only effect the pet every time it attacks after that.

  24. you can hit Conserve power right before Power Surge drops and usually this will prevent your toggles from dropping (usually did for me) and unlike Unstoppable, you can slot it for Accuracy and Disorient Duration for the EMP and have plenty of time to Power Sink and Aid Self and you're back in business
