  1. Oh I've got a Storm/Dual Pistols Defender myself, and I know all about being in the eye of the Hurricane! And as far as safety goes, it can either be achieved with "lockdown" of mobs (via hard and soft controls) or by "disruption" of mobs (knockdown/up/back, debuffing, etc.) ... but "control" should not be confused with "disruption" since although the net result is effectively the same (you and your team stay alive and fighting longer/better), the means of achieving that goal is radically different in terms of skillset(s) of the player as well as tactics an strategy. Both ways can yield "safety" but do so through totally dissimilar means ... which has very important applications to gameplay.

I play using the Mac Client and the NC Soft Launcher for Mac is still advertising the Winter Event as well as the December Subscription Offer (for getting extra subscribed time) as well as several other things that haven't been updated since ... well ... December. Things like the "new" Gunslinger Costume Pack.

I would phrase this a little differently.

Positron's Blast "overspends" on Damage, meaning that a full set results in "wasted" enhancement value thanks to Enhancement Diversification. Kheldian's Grace is better "balanced" on the strength of its combined values on the enhancements themselves, because it isn't overrunning the ED cap to the same degree. Note that this analysis is merely looking at the straight up enhancement values on the enhancements themselves and is not taking into consideration the "worth" of the set bonuses as a point of cross-comparison.

Storm is not so much a "control" powerset as it is a CHAOS powerset. Storm achieves its "control" functions less by locking things down so much as disrupting them with Gale, Freezing Rain, Herdicane, Tornado and Lightning Storm ... and a lot of that disruption potential involves knockback/knockdown/knockup/repel with a lot of To-hit Debuff thrown in from Hurricane. Storm doesn't "lockdown" Foes in the way that other powersets can with their powers, but it can perma-disrupt groups of hostiles in ways that neutralize their offensive potential.
  5. At the last Player Summit, I "cornered" Dark Watcher (programming guy) and pointed out to him that the REAL problem with the Base Editor essentially amounts to a case of "Do Not Back Up, Severe Tire Damage" and that until the entire legacy base editing system gets replaced, it's never going to amount to more than it currently does (ie. 6 years old and creaky as all get out). I then pointed out to him that what would be Really Useful is a dual use "Map Editor" which would be cross-compatible with both SG Bases and Mission Architect so as to allow for more broadly defined User Created Environments.

YES ... it would be tremendous undertaking (think easily a year or two once a commitment is made to go ahead) ... but at the same time, the rewards of actually overhauling (and documenting?) the game code that makes these things possible would at the same time be an excellent opportunity to streamline and update Developer Tools for creating environments as well, not just Player Accessible Tools for doing the same thing. My point being that the Developers could "get as much out of" such an effort as the Players, and the end result would be a far more stable, and expansionable part of the game allowing User Created Content.

So if you do it *RIGHT* you achieve the all important Two Birds With One Stone aspect (or even Three, depending on how you tie everything together and code it all on the back end).
  6. Cyborg Aura: A.C.C.A.H.U.D.

Could this "sort of thing" be ... extended ... into being a Full Body Hologram "armor" using the body layer tech that Victorian Decor is made from? Basically making a "high tech" sort of Victorian Decor that holographically projects "body armor" around the entire body, when In Combat?

The simplest possible thing to do would be to allow ALL Mastermind Primary Pet Powers to slot Recharge Intensive Pets.

    No fuss ... no muss.
    Problem SOLVED.
It's a simple database edit ... which makes you wonder why it hasn't been done yet.

Serum for Mercs is just another one of those Monument To BAD GAME DESIGN legacy bits of coding that really just need to be completely overhauled. First thing I'd do to it would be to turn it into a 60 ft PBAoE (ie. Supremacy radius) Click that affects all Mercs, not just one ... and then go about improving the details of the power.

A friend of mine plays a Robotics Mastermind, and he *swears* by Repair (in a good way) as a Fast Heal for a Bot. Or were you thinking of a different Repair power?

Smoke Flash is ... kludgy. It's basically a Pet Placate (ala Stalkers), but the Hide (and double damage) doesn't wear off for 10 seconds, so it's a bit more like Build Up in that respect. My main problem with the power is the extreme Endurance Cost of it (even when reduced by slotting) and the fact that it affects only ONE Ninja, which you have to Target ... rather than being a 60 ft PBAoE Click which affects ALL of your Ninjas simultaneously. I'd much rather have a PBAoE Smoke Flash that lasted 5 seconds, than a Single Target Smoke Flash that lasted for 10 seconds (and required me to switch targets to use, most of the time). Use of Smoke Flash requires a lot more "Flying the Gauges" in the workload of your attention span, which is a familiar experience to any Empath, World Of Pain or Time Manipulation driver. Without Smoke Flash, you can keep your attention centered on the "action" happening on screen where the enemy is, without needing to be (as) constantly aware of your Pet Status window (and if you have any of them selected as your Target within it).

Of course, one of the ways around that problem is the Target Of Target system ... where you Target a Foe, and whatever THEY are targeting becomes the beneficiary of Smoke Flash (and so long as that's a Ninja Pet, it works).
  8. I wish the PToD were visible beyond melee range when the $Target isn't being attacked (and the entire area FLOODED with FX).
  9. As bad off as Ninjas are ... Mercs definitely have it worse.
And I say that as a Ninja Mastermind ...

  11. Broken PvP requires broken Powers. Nothing to see here ...
  12. I've got a Ninja/TA Mastermind, and when I run SSA 2 and have to take out the Final Boss, I use Oil Slick Arrow. It lights every time, and my Ninjas are (reliably) terrified of standing in it while it's on fire.

  15. Assault is better in all cases, except for when you're solo ... or when you need to spike damage something RIGHT NOW. Then again, Aim requires active attention (and clicking!), whereas Assault does not, meaning that you're not realistically going to be getting the uptime you were calculating anyway ... in which case, over infinite time, Assault is even better when solo.
  16. Now that you mention it ... there is a certain resemblance ...

Allow that animated ring glow FX to be the secondary color of those versions of the weapons, in addition to serving as the "highlight" styling color on other parts of the weapon model.

Any chance our awesome Art Team can do that, Clockwork O1?

    Promises neither required, nor expected.

The fact that you LIKE the idea (and are willing to express to any and all in this forum that you do), is reward enough.

Saying that you WILL investigate to see if it can be done (or not) ... PRICELESS.
