Is there a reason some Time powers are so gutted in PvP?

I've been playing with a Time/Dark Dueling build for a couple of months now, and it's good, but I'm just wondering - why are some of the powers gutted so much from their PvE numbers? Rad/Poison/Etc. doesn't suffer from this.

Temporal Mending - Does not have a heal over time effect in PvP, with no larger initial heal to compensate. The "compensation" is a slight regeneration boost, but I have crunched the numbers, and the regeneration boost is nowhere near powerful enough to rival the heal over time.

Chrono Shift - Not only does this not have a heal over time effect in PvP, it has no initial heal. Now I understand that the devs must've tried to compensate for the heal over time with a weak regeneration boost (that needs to be buffed if not changed back to heal over time), but no feasible regeneration boost can make up for the power being gutted of a 300+ pt heal (that's without my Incandescence on, which is on all the time).

Time Stop - I only just noticed that this power doesn't have the -heal component in PvP? In PvP, a -heal component would actually make this power worthwhile, but now I see it's been gutted of this, I'll just stick Glad. Nets in it and remove it from my tray.

Again, these changes don't necessarily make my Time duelist bad, but I don't understand why the nerfs to PvP numbers when Rad, Dark, Poison, etc. remain as is.

First, I would be happy that Time is so good in PvE. Play Poison, Trick Arrow, or Sonics in PvE and then give Time a whirl. One of these things is not like the other, and brokenly powerful in comparison.

Heal decay does weird things in PvP, which is why those skills were changed to regeneration rather than a heal-over-time component. The same was done to Pain Domination's healing aura that ticks for heals in PvE but provides regeneration in PvP.

Broken PvP requires broken Powers. Nothing to see here ...

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

The point is that if they're going to exchange a heal over time for a regeneration boost to prevent the thing from being messed up by heal decay, the regeneration boost should be high enough to be comparable to the heal over time. The current regeneration boost is too weak. My Temporal Mending essentially heals less than Radiant Aura/Healing Aura for double the recharge (though occasionally the slow res is nice, but hardly worth double the recharge).

Fixed the thread title for you.

Sorry, buddy, that's not even accurate

You are thinking WAAAAAAY to logically for PVP. Its your misconception that PVP is supposed to be balanced. Its not. The devs gave up on the mess of PVP code a long time ago and aren't even trying any longer. Just deal with it as it is and don't bring a Time character into the zone if you don't like how the powers are working. Complaining about it is futile as nobody is listening and it will never be addressed other than in a haphazard way that only ends up nerfing the set even MORE.

I'm not being cynical....I'm quoting history here. Seriously. Move on. Make something else, your borked powers are going to remain borked as the PVP game represents an absolute non-issue for the dev community.

Yes, this is so true, all jokes aside.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

+1

It'd drive me nuts to go to work every day and not do something to the horrible mess that is PvP in this game if I worked for Paragon studios.

What's especially sad is that the reason it hasn't been touched and probably never will be is purely bottom line: super packs pay bills, PvP doesn't.

Short term yes but I expect the game population would be much higher now if PVP existed.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

Didn't the last Dev to delve into the PvP area of the game with a "I'll fix it grin" on his face get burned at the stake and his body thrown down a cliff?
