Aim or TT:Assault
Assault is better in all cases, except for when you're solo ... or when you need to spike damage something RIGHT NOW. Then again, Aim requires active attention (and clicking!), whereas Assault does not, meaning that you're not realistically going to be getting the uptime you were calculating anyway ... in which case, over infinite time, Assault is even better when solo.
Assault. Always assault.
As you mentioned, to hit isn't too terribly important as most people get that all figured out on their own. Damage boost, however, is always in demand. You're not only helping me, but also all my pets. Spiders are badasses on their own, but their biggest strength to me is 'power in numbers'.
I used to be in an all spider supergroup and with everyone running double assault and double maneuvers the level of domination was insaaane.

I will join the chorus: Assault.
As a damage buff, assault is better in almost every respect. Aim's tohit buff is not useless, however, particularly if you're talking about a fortunata rather than a crab. Nothing much has special defense against energy, smashing and lethal aoes, but a fair few enemies have such bizarrely potent psionic defense that holding onto aim may not be unreasonable. Of course, it sounds like the reason you asked is that your build is tight in the first place so in that sense this is a rather open and shut case.
I was on an all VEAT ITF.
1 bane, 5 crabs, 2 fortunas.
So we had about 25 or so pets running around, perma mind link, multiple TT:Man and TT:*** and it was amazing.
OK so now I'm having to respec again for Assualt :P YAY!
If you can fit Aim in by dropping something else, I'd recommend it. I mean, Aim does give a sizable damage boost (+50% if I recall) but TT:Assault is better in that it's constant.
Aim, only if you can find a spot for it.
Neph runs dual assault, dual tactics and dual maneuvers.
I have no pets, so that is the power choice for aim for me.

Don't you find dual tactics pretty wasteful? Have you monitored your hit rolls w/out it to see if you notice a difference? I can see running it with pets since they're lower level and may need it, but don't really see the need aside from that... And PvP if you're in to that. Since crabs are tight builds, just curious to hear why you decided on picking up power pool Tactics.

I studied my build on Mids for hours, i saw the option, and i stied the changes on Mids. So far, i seldom miss my target, and i'm happy i did that.
The reason i think it is very useful?
I run iTrails a lot, and by a lot i mean... A LOT.
No pets, only the Lore pets, and i can still solo a door on BAF, which is what the leaders tell me to do while everyone else has to stick to a choke point.
Dual leadership pools helps not only me, but my team... and i love being on a team.
Aim is a nice extra boost when i need it.
oh, PvP.. yeah, i do that. Solo i'm ok, in a team, i'll thrive.
See the pattern? Team, team and TEAM.
Teams love dual leadership pools. :P

Dual Tactics powers makes a difference when fighting +4 Foes and you don't have Incarnate Level Shifts to make life "easy" for you.
I'm pondering dropping Aim (at 30 seconds recharge), for assault.
The maths tells me that (and if I am wrong, please do correct me) that with Aim if compared to assault, over a minute I have a 16.66% damage bonus (that is 50 damage bonus divided by 60 seconds, the result then times by 20 seconds) where as assault gives me a flat 15% permanently, and has no cast time, compared to the cast time of assault.
Assault also buffs the team with 15% damage bonus, so my gut feeling tells me it is better, and I don't think I need the to hit buff, as I am sitting on 95% To Hit without Aim and all my attacks have 300%+ accuracy. So what do you guys think?
