hmm, most painful? Besides the three bulging disks in my back...
That would have to be the time I stepped on a wooden toothpick, barefoot. It embedded itself into the arch of my foot right in front of the heel, until there was less than a 1/4" (6mm) was left visible.
Funny thing is, that wasn't the painful part. The pain didn't start happening until my dad had my foot between his legs and was pulling on that toothpick with a pair of pliers like it was a nail in a horseshoe.
I think the screaming eventually convinced them to take me to emergency.
As for the stubbed toes, I have a cure for that. Stand on the stubbed toe with the heel of your other foot. -
Quote:To be honest Quint, he never said it until he mentioned Defiant above and his location is empty as well.i think it's hilarious that half the people didn't realize he was on the EU servers instead of the NA servers. made my day so far that did. anyways. M_B, if you try the North American servers you will find a whole lot more people to play with. it will require you to download the trial again, but you will find more people to play with.
One of us should have been smart enough to ask in the first place rather than assume.
If mad brair were willing to test the NA waters, is there a way he can replace the updater/exe with the NA version, as opposed to downloading the whole thing all over again? -
*yoinks*
Scooter, as for poses or stock images I'm always saving images in magazine, newspapers, etc. It might be for the eyes, shadowing on the face, how their hand is placed, whatever that happens to catch my attention. If you haven't already, take a look at SenshiStock over on DA. She's got a huge gallery of stock poses that she's created. -
Those are all very nice, Twizded.
I really like Faenya and Valara.
Welcome the the Art Forums. -
You can do like I did, and have a friend take the screenie for you. We had our characters back to back, so that when he zoomed in towards his character, he was able to get a really good head shot of my main Angel Red. (You can even see a little bit of his costume to the right of her face.)
I really need to get a new one though, I have since fixed the artifact between the two face pieces. -
Very nice Juggertha, it took a second look to notice what was around her knees.

Congratulations to the medal winners!
And well done to everyone who posted! -
I would head up to the Tech forums, not sure how much help you would get down here.
I had the same issue after the move to the new forums. I used a separate app to clean out all the cookies, and rather than using my bookmarked page for the forums, I started fresh. -
Running Win7?
I had this problem, and come to find out Aero had been disables. If you are on Win7 rt-click on your taskbar, select Preferences. If Aero is greyed out, then go to your desktop Preferences and change the theme. That should re-enable Aero, and Alt+Tab should work again. -

Quote:I already had.Yup. 8 mins. later, the character showed up just fine.
You might have to queue up your character(s) again, Red. Usually, you have to. I was rather surprised when that one I had queued up made it through.
But I PM'd Avatea the info she asked for anyway because some were unable to get on to test at all. -
Quote:Dagnabbit, Zombie Man! Now I'm going to go to bed with the sounds of that video game in my head.If you jump when you enter that geyser you go high enough to hit your head on a small invisible island which causes a large mushroom to sprout and fall off that island. If you catch it, you then unlock the secret Growth Power.

Quote:Well, I have a level 50 Kin/Arch/Psy, she's not all that quick at farming, though she can do it in relative safety, but she's far from being IO'd out.If yall don't mind...I would like to see someone set up a Kin/arch/psi def and try one of these builds out. If i had money or something, i would set a reward for the best and most effecient defender farmer build. For any of you who have a lot of inf, I challenge you to see what build can do the best (whether or not you include purples, doesnt matter,i can not afford them). Find a AE or farm type mission that anyone can access, set it to +0/8 and either make a video or post the build with the stats on completion time.
We all know just about every AT but us has the ways and means, but i would love to someone try and eek out the best defender farming killing machine possible.
BTW, the question of this thread was that IF DEF's could farm, what build would be the absolute best. I will also set in and make a DEF just for this purpose. I will post another thread sometime as I get close to lvl 50. For all of you with more time on your hands and who consider yourselves a step above the rest in playing ability, consider this a challenge. no rewards to be won, just bragging rights.
Let the games begin! -
Quote:So you're offering to store the avatars of 100k+ members on your HD? Sweet! That's pretty nice of you.True, but in addition to the 100x100 pixel dimension limit, they could also easily impose a file size limit. Off the top of my head, I would think that a meg is sufficient for an avatar, yet still small enough so that the space usage isn't excessive. Especially considering that Terabyte hard drives are now inexpensive. Currently there are 165053 members on the CoH Forums. 2 megs each for an avatar would mean about 350 GB of storage (or about 700 GB in a [1] mirrored array). Not really a break-the-bank one-time expenditure.

Depending on the firewall, sometimes just turning it off doesn't always work. When I had Norton on my old system, I actually had to go into it's settings, 'Allow' both CoX.exe and the updater.exe before disabling Norton.

Quote:As if I'd listen to anything WoW had to say...Actually that's a backronym developed later (in WoW according to Paragon Wiki), the origin of the term proc dates back to the old MUDs where it was shorthand for "procedure" or "process" as Humility said.
It seems that all three of them are in equal use today.
Then again we could all be wrong and it's just a village in eastern Slovakia. -
Quote:Actually, I believe it stands for Programmed Random Occurrence. Thanks all for the clarification!
EDIT: Here's a bit of useless information. Proc was originally dev talk shorthand for Process back in the early days of MMO development. So if a weapon had a chance for extra damage on attack, that damage was a Process which would trigger when certain conditions were met (In most cases, and attack was made and the random number generator cam up over/under a specific target).
So technically, this is not a global effect but rather a Process which is triggered by specific conditions (in this case, the use of the relevant power, or a 10 second interval for always on/toggle powers).
Useless info/technicality over, thanks for the info -
So enthusiastic, she posted twice.
I am currently at work and cannot give you those details, Avatea. I'll pass them along as soon as I do. MY problem is that the character I selecter to copy to test (Thermocouple lvl 50 from Justice) isn't showing up on test. -
I agree with you there. Below level 6 is not going to net much. Lets hope they use a scaling approach as has been suggested in one of the umpteen thread about this.

Once again I will mention that during HeroCon, the Devs hinted at possibly running the name purge before GR goes live.

I've always called the Hospital Express myself. It was nice of them to add the 'triage station' in The Hollows when they added the trainer. No more hoofing it back from AP.

Glad you're doing better, Johnnykat.
I've think I've seen that orange add somewhere. Poor apple. The horror!
