Quote:Which one are you disabling? There are two that mention Pop Help.I'm not sure if this really falls in your category, but one issue that's been annoying the heck out of me is the darned Pop help interface.
Yes, I know there are already options to disable the Pop help, but all it actually does is make the interface invisible. It's still on the screen and blocks other windows that might be "under" it.
For example, I have a vertical power tray on the right side of my screen for various temp powers, but clicking the powers does asolutely nothing because the invisible pop help is actually blocking them.. until I click higher above to bring focus to that window first.
Sorry.. I guess it's actually totally unrelated.. but it's just another minor annoyance that should have been fixed long ago and bugs me daily. lol
I have only had to disable the 'Pop Help' option, and it removes the ! on the side of the screen as well. -
Well, talking to the City Rep and doing their respective missions only grants you a cape/aura, they do not unlock costume slots. You have to talk to the Icon Reps and do their missions to open the costume slots.
If you were getting slots opened just by talking the the City Rep in Atlas Park, then that is a bug. -
Quote:Don't kid yourself, Forbin. I'm pretty sure those people are a**holes no matter what character they are playing.I've always been amazed how that one buff seems to bring out the Kinetics inner a**hole. I can't count how many of them I've one starred because they think they can force me to play my characters the way they dictate.
I for one, ask people if they want SB and do my best to remember who to hand it out to and who to skip.
Quote:As a point of fact, allowing people to right-click on a buff and remove it like how we can delete temporary powers has no downside, excluding the development costs.
Now, if they could implement a system where if the receiver could select that they don't want the buff, and the caster gets "Non-targetedable" fine, you don't get your buff and I didn't just waste a buff. -
There have been quite a few sound updates since GvE. I also recommend deleting your sound.pigg file and restarting the updater. Hopefully this will solve your issue.

Quote:Welcome back, Pet77. (They always come back.)Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. This should ease the learning curve big time and prevents me from reading thousands of text! Now at least I know where to start from.
I remember CoH community being one of the best of all the MMORPGs I've played and am glad it still is! (except for Tyger42, he's a sarcastic, in a not so funny way, forum police nerd!).
As for Tyger, his response was not so bad. Compared to other forums, it was down-right jovial. Try not to read anything into it other than a minor ribbing.
And as you can see from the respondents, CoH is still a very helpful community. Join the "N P C" channel (New Player Counsel) in-game /chan_join "N P C" to get answers to questions. You can click on the link in my Sig to see what it's all about. -

Quote:You will be greatly missed around these parts, Castle. Good luck to you on your endeavors and have a wonderful holiday.Hey Everyone, I just wanted to send a note out letting you know that my last day working for Paragon Studios is this Friday, December 24.
Ive been working on City of Heroes in essentially the same role for six years now. It has been a fantastic learning experience and I have become a far better designer as a result of my time here.
Id especially like to thank all of you City of Heroes fans. I appreciate the passion that you feel for your hobby, even when that passion was, shall we say, directed towards me in a rather negative fashion? I have always tried to keep an open mind and treat your feedback fairly. Ive loved seeing what you have done with the tools we have provided you with. Some of the MA arcs Ive seen are brilliant and some of the base layouts are simply amazing. Ive seen costumes made that, quite frankly, are completely beyond my ability despite having access to the exact same tools. Then, there are the wonderful people Ive met at Hero-Con and Meet & Greets. It has definitely been my pleasure to work with this community.
In closing, Id like to thank you all for the good times and putting up with my sometimes surly nature. Going forward, Synapse and Black Scorpion are the go to guys whenever you have a powers or entity related question or problem. Feel free to direct your inquiries to them here on the boards and they will do their best to address them. Ill have PMs turned on as Castle until 12:00 Pacific, Friday, December 24. Feel free to PM me or post here Ill try and answer or comment as best I can! -
Same here, just logged into one of my often played characters, with no Holiday powers/gifts from last years event and none were awarded this time around.

I was on my Praetorian last night, and just tagging presents in between mission, I nabbed 33 CC's. It was a level appropriate zone, so clearing any spawns when I was ...naughty... <.< got me some CC's as well.

That's a PBAoE, it affects everyone withing range. You would be requiring everyone who didn't want the buff to stay out of range. What happens then when your team is in, say a Council base?
-
Quote:When I'm playing my Kin/Arch on a team that's constantly on the move, I find that my secondary gets limited use. Matter of fact, I think I use my APP (Psychic Mastery) more than my secondary on steamrolling teams. If you like making sure everyone has their SB buff (consistently), if you take pride in timing a transference buff because you saw the blaster nuking you filled his/her end bar without having their toggles drop, if you like being able to damage cap that brute, then kinetics is for you. Just don't count on doing a whole lot of direct damage while on a full team that is constantly on the move.
If you don't like that type of activity then kinetics will be a 'meh' set for you, or worse, a set that drives you mad. -

Nevermind, I forgot that these now apply buffs depending on enemies in range.

Quote:Morality missions are not "awarded" when you complete your 10th Tip mission, you have to continue hunting, they drop just like the Tip missions.I have tip missions available and have done some both ways since I upgraded but have not received a morality mission.
The morality mission tip is awarded when you complete your 10th alignment mission, if you don't have GR this tip is not awarded and isn't awarded when you complete subsequent tip missions.
Now, if you are saying that you filled your alignment bar (without GR,) then upgraded to GR, and all you are continue to get are Tip missions, that would be a bug. And you should post it up in the Tech Issues & Bugs forum.
Edit: Another possibility is that your Tip mission counter was reset to 0/10 when you upgraded, but the bar itself still shows 10/10. Try doing another set of 10 tip missions and see if you get a Morality mission to drop. -
Some of the purples had that description long before the doors to Fort Trident and The Crucible we opened. I got a purple drop back before GR went live and it had that in the description.

That was vary nice, GA.
Happy Holidays! -
Quote:And by clicking on the Alpha Commons and Uncommons you can see what it will require to craft. Click on the Convert tab to convert Incarnate Shards into the Incarnate Components you need to build your desired Alpha Common.Click on the powers tab and next to where it says combat attributes you will see the Incarnate tab, within there you can craft and convert. Hope this helps =)
The Alpha Uncommon will 'consume' the Alpha Common when you craft it.
After crafting your Alpha, you still have to slot it into your Alpha Slot. When you look at your Alpha 'tree', double-click the crafted Alpha, or rt-click and select to slot it. -
You're best bet for an answer is to go to the NCsoft Support page and search the Knowledge base for an answer, or click on the Ask a Question tab, and submit a question to support that way.

Only one account here, six 50's and about 80 more characters (levels 1- 46) spread out across 11 servers.
I'm not understanding the problem...
<.<
>.>
I know of players that have multiple accounts, and characters numbering in the hundreds.
Perhaps if you picked two or three, or six characters, and alternated between them. Also what kind of playing do you like to do?
There are a handful of my characters I play more often than the others because I RP them with a groups of people, so it adds a depth to your character other than just button mashing. When you start getting into the heads of your characters, you gain a whole other level of play with them. -
Well, I think the update on Tuesday? was for the winter Event, then they had the patch yesterday. I'm thinking that the patch broke something.
-
Quote:So it appears to be an issue with Lord Winter's Realm as a whole. Is the same happening redside?I just did another test.
Hero, Controller, solo the entire time, no other teams, Winter Lord droned in King's Row.
Kicked To Atlas. -
Quote:Were you trying to enter the same Realm? Or did you spawn another Realm and try to enter that one?I quit my team and tried to enter solo, and the same thing happened, so it;s not a problem of mixed teams.
I only ask because there may be some hidden flag attached to the spawn based on the team that spawned the Winter Lord that was defeated to get access to Lord Winter's Realm.
I'm at work and cannot try any of this, but if people could get together teams, in separate zones would probably be best to have a better idea as to which team spawned the WL.
Blueside AT's all Hero alignment
Redside AT's all Villain
Mix of blueside and redside AT's all Hero alignment.
Blueside AT's mixed Hero/Rogue
etc...
etc...
Hopefully it can be narrowed down as to whether this is an Alignment issue or AT issue.
