Welcome to City of X, Malak.
For more information than you ever though you would need, head to Paragon Wiki.
And for New/New-ish/Returning players poke your head into the Mentor Project, and once you've subscribed join the "N P C" (New Players Council) chat channel to get your questions answered in-game. Just type /chan_join "N P C" (spaces and quotes required.)
I don't think anyone's mentioned it so I will. Unlike other MMO's CoX is not about endgame, you will hear it repeated over and over that "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey." There's a lot of interesting stories in the missions and tonnes of game lore. Take your time and enjoy the ride. -
Here is the current rent cost.
As for other changes, collision has been nerfed, so stacking is a much less tedious task. No more 'majic desks'.
Leadership has been altered slightly. There is now a super leader.
And depending on how long you've been gone, enrollment space has been expanded. 150 member limit instead of 75(?) -
Good luck to you on your new adventures, Ocho. May you and your family enjoy the change.
Take care.

Thanks for clearing up what steps you took, Rial. Much appreciated.
Quote:Once I brought my Praetorian over, I've had a heck of a time getting Tip drops although I mentioned this to a friend and he confirmed that he was able to open all his costume slots prior to level 30.This is where the possible bug is. Now I figured that either the contact would tell me that I already did their mission or give me the mission and not grant the reward because I already had the reward for that level. This was not the case as both Lauren and Glenda unlocked new costume slots for me by completing their missions.
The reason I think this not working as intended is because of how the Aura missions work and the fact that there is nothing preventing a player from simply unlocking all their costume slots at level 10. It seems like the Tailor contacts should work the same as the cape/aura contacts and tell you they don't talk to heroes or villains depending on what side you're on and your alignment.
If the devs don't really care about people being able to unlock all 5 costume slots at level 20 then this is working as intended and there is no bug. However I believe this to be an unintended exploit.
I'd think it would definitely be a bug, as to how high on the totem pole it would be for a fix, I'd think not very. People would have to go through the rigmarole of side swapping or at least heading into the grey area and see it as "too much hassle" to go through that for the extra slots. Though I'd think it'd be easier to run tip mission for two days than to gain 10 levels. <shrug> I'm going to continue with my Praetorian infiltrator to see if I can produce the same results.
I have no idea how simple or difficult this would be for the Devs to fix, but I agree, it should be looked at. -
If you have a concept in mind, read all of the powers descriptions in the Creator and pick the one that suites it best, then give it a whirl.
1. Just remember, you will not be über out of the gate, that comes with time. Don't skip the tutorial, and read everything rather than just clicking 'Okay". There is a great deal of useful information in there.
2. The tutorial whether Primal or praetorian side, gives you the basics for learning how to fight. So pick your fights, pull you enemies if need be to give yourself some breathing room.
3. Eat your inspirations. These things. The tutorial will give you two Tier 3 insps, sell them at the market.
4. The Tram can now take you to almost any zone blueside, Ferry/Black Coptor for redside, it lists the appropriate levels for the zones. Hitting 'M' will bring up your mini-map, look for the(Monorail)
(Ferry) hmm no icon on Paragon Wiki for the Black Helicopter Line. Might be
but with a black 'H'.
5. Enjoy the game. -

Well, I ported my Praetorian over to Hero side and Annah would not allow me to purchase a slot with Halloween Salvage.
Now to start him on Tip missions. -
The current rise is due to the last AE exploit. Where vast number of people were PL'ing their character, without gaining drops that could then be added to the market.
So there were characters making vast amounts of inf, that only took from the market, but never contributed anything but inf. No salvage drops, no recipe drops, vacant shelves at the market. -
Quote:It'd be nice if it did that, Tony. In it's current state the repetition of the same snippet of music is so annoying that now in Pocket D all I hear is this.Personally, I think they should program some heuristics to generate a soundtrack on the fly. Every time you go in, the music would be different. It's not only possible, but I saw such a thing being done in a game back in the early 1990s, though which one escapes me right now. Over the course of time, have the programmers add heuristic variances instead of just plopping a new track that will get boring after the tenth time you've heard it.
That would kick the collective a** of pretty much any soundtrack suggested or posted here.
Edit: Although the original linked-to article is gone, a description of the technique I'm describing hit Slashdot back in 1998. -
So if the City Rep has nothing to do with Costume slots and nothing to do with the bug, then why mention her?
Yes, I read the entire post.
Yes most of the post deals with Costume Slots.
Yes, your inclusion of irrelevant information leads to confusion.
Not trying to win any argument here, you may think your post is clear but if for a Dev to look at it, a post should not contain any information that is not required to reproduce said bug.
Quote:This first part of that comment could have been left out, it is unnecessary. As it turns out when I go to Atlas Park on a Rouge the city rep says she doesn't talk to villains. Lauren however did talk to me.
Quote:This seems fine except getting more curious I ran back to Cap after unlocking my level 30 costume slot and now I have all 5 costume slots. (One slot was unlocked by Halloween salvage.)
Again, unclear.
All that aside, it is an interesting issue. I happen to have a Praetorian with a Halloween Salvage slot unlocked, I'll have to check this out.
<heh>
I'm really trying to understand the steps Rial actually went through. So my apologies to Rial if he feels that I am being argumentative, it's not my intention. -
It's a known issue with Win7's Aero Peek, for whatever reason it becomes disabled, and the only way to re-enable it is to set a standard windows theme for your desktop.
Rt-click on the taskbar>Properties and check 'Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop'. That tends to solve the problem. -
Welcome back, Mofeta.
While this game runs on instances, that was just as true two years ago as it is today.
What has changed since then is that there has been the introduction of Going Rogue, with a new starting zone going all the way to level 20. So when players finally leave Praetoria, they will be in the range of Talos/Independence Port.
Also, with the addition of Incarnate in i19 a lot of players on on their 50's and running the Incarnate arc, and then more higher level TF's to gather shards.
The addition of AE sent many players scrambling from Atlas/Mercy to get away from the "lf AE team" spam in broadcast.
I recommend joining some global channels. -
Quote:Apparently, clicking on that radio button is too much effort. I think that when recipes have all their components for being crafted, they should auto-craft. That'll remove the effort in having to find a crafting table, expanding the recipe types, slogging down to the 'Do no show recipes missing components' button, and having to waste precious time clicking on yet another button. <sheesh>Well you can sort of do this already if you hide 'recipes missing ingredients' and 'unowned recipes' but the highlighting only comes in when you open the tabs since they're closed by default.
An extra layer of ready-to-craft indication would be a nice addition though. -
Quote:As it turns out when I go to Atlas Park on a Rouge the city rep says she doesn't talk to villains. Lauren however did talk to me.
This seems fine except getting more curious I ran back to Cap after unlocking my level 30 costume slot and now I have all 5 costume slots. (One slot was unlocked by Halloween salvage.)
I don't know if this is really even a bug but it would seem someone could unlock all 5 costume slots by level 20 simply by doubling up on Halloween Salvage and turning it in for both the Croatoa and Nerva contacts and then doing both hero and villain level 20 contacts. And you could still do the other missions as well but wouldn't get anything for them as the slots are already open.
On the other hand even if you made this so they wouldn't talk to you either you could still go all the way to the other side to grab the other mission unless they contact gave you the "you've already done this" text no matter which version of the mission you've actually done.Quote:What the heck are you talking about? I never said anything about the city rep giving costume slots.
Quote:I said my level 30 Rouge can't do the Aura mission with the City Rep but can do costume slot mission with Lauren. That's two different thoughts. :P

I've had slots readjust the sliders on my characters before, and this is for a character where her sliders shouldn't be different no matter what costume she is wearing.
-
Well, when you have all the components to craft a recipe it's already highlighted in bold. I find that that distinction is enough for me.

If it is an inactive player, the email and inf will be returned in 60 days as long as it's not been claimed.
