A simple question from a new player.
It never too late to change a costume, all you need to do is goto a tailor(Steel Canyon, Independence Port, Founder's Falls, and Rikti War Zone).
Click on the tailor select your costume slot(at level 20, 30, and 40 you can do a mission for the head tailor to open a new costume slot).
then change away, but it will cost you influence (the in game currency).

I am wondering if I get a booster after i create my character if it is too late to change it. For example I make my speedster, then buy the mutant booster pack is it too late to go back and edit him with the new costume? If not is the simple solution to just buy superscience booster first? |
cool, thanks for helping me out. This games community seems awesome.
Do new players get the PocketD teleporter? I'm a redsider and I find the tailors in Cap and Martial to be too far out of the way so I always use Pocket D.
If you're going to play in Praetoria the tailor is in Imperial City.
cool, thanks for helping me out. This games community seems awesome.

No, I believe that that perk was if you purchased the Good vs. Evil pack that contained the code on the Pocket D card inside.

Also, you can get an additional costume at any level by turning in Halloween salvage; shoot me a tell at @quinch and I can mail you a set.
PS: If you want to tweak your costume, the tailor in the RWZ {if you're blueside, look for the V icon on the Atlas Park map} is most accessible to a low-level character.
I don't think new players get the PD porter. Vanguard has a tailor (facemaker surgeon I think...) in their base. You can edit costumes there too.

Welcome to the game, Malak. A surprising amount of things about a character can be changed or updated later; there are only four things that can't be changed, really. Those unchangeable things are Origin, Archetype, Primary Powerset, Secondary Powerset.

The Pocket D teleporter (and access to the Tiki Lounge where the tailor is), along with the GvE costume parts, is part of the Good vs Evil edition.
A new player is most likely going to be using the Going Rogue code to activate and so won't have the GvE codes.
The GvE goodie pack is available for purchase seperately though, just like any of the other boosters, if one really wants it.

Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.
Welcome to City of X, Malak.
For more information than you ever though you would need, head to Paragon Wiki.
And for New/New-ish/Returning players poke your head into the Mentor Project, and once you've subscribed join the "N P C" (New Players Council) chat channel to get your questions answered in-game. Just type /chan_join "N P C" (spaces and quotes required.)
I don't think anyone's mentioned it so I will. Unlike other MMO's CoX is not about endgame, you will hear it repeated over and over that "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey." There's a lot of interesting stories in the missions and tonnes of game lore. Take your time and enjoy the ride.
Another note if you buy the Going Rogue version your very first character created will be started in Praetoria but any subsequent characters can be started as a Hero or Villain in the appropriate areas. You don't have to wait to start a second character just make the first one enter Praetoria log out and create a new character to start in the other areas.
And welcome to the game

Thanks for the info and the websites! I played for about 2 years when CoH came out and finally came back recently after 3-4 years away. Gives me a start to relearn what's new since i've been gone.
My biggest surprise is not that i still had my old toons, but they still had all my old names.
Heard that they went away after awhile.
Would die without "The Remarkable Red Lobster" toon
So much to relearn but a lot is still familiar but confident i'll be long-term this go..
The name-freeing script hasn't been run in a while, but it wasn't simply "Inactive for X days"
Also, it didn't automatically make one lose the name, just made it so if someone else went after it, then you would.

I haven't paid for coh/cov yet, but im 98% sure I will. The only thing left for me to do is run the demo and if it works fine im gonna be all over this game. But quick question, I was reading all the different booster packs. I am wondering if I get a booster after i create my character if it is too late to change it. For example I make my speedster, then buy the mutant booster pack is it too late to go back and edit him with the new costume? If not is the simple solution to just buy superscience booster first?
