Sold my Ragnarok for 186 million- dum bid creepers, just go to 200 like I wanted you!

Still....55 mil for the recipe, 2-ish for the salvage, 600k to craft, 10 mil or so in fees, I cleared over 100 million in pure profit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Very nice. My best intentional profit was buying a crafted Miracle +rec for 27M and selling it for 140M the next day (clearly I should have priced it higher). My best unintentional profit was buying a Aegis (I forget which - maybe resistance) for 14M and selling it for 340M. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be 34M.

  2. At 2% to proc, on average it has a decent chance to stun one enemy every 3 spawns in a full-sized team.

Oh, and it's a mag 2 stun, so it only affects minions and lower, so if you *DO* get your proc activation and it's a boss or Lt., well, too bad.

Vendor, or list on the market and hope for a sucker to buy it.

Argh. "MindForeverBurning" is 18 characters... the forum handle limit is 16.

    I am a sad panda.

  4. On my characters with hundreds of millions, I rarely involve them in items that don't profit 10M or more per transaction. I don't know about others. But for me, once I hit a couple hundred million, I don't use the market much, so work with slow moving items to get those numbers. Some of the better marketeers probably do much faster and larger transactions than I do.

    Drop Rates again

I for one would welcome a small increase, simply because that means another market shake-up, and that's when I have the easiest time making big jumps in my riches. Change = recallibration, which is where risk-takers can benefit most easily.

    8 MMs on a team?

Was in a necro/dark SG once. Had 8 of us on many missions. Was still loaded with a 6600 video card at the time, so it crushed me. I put a teammate on follow, my heal on auto, put out my pets and buffed, then let the team go on. I was getting 1-2 frames per second consistently. I only had to do anything in missions when I get stuck while trying to follow my teammate, which is good since often fights would end about 5 seconds before I could tell.

  7. Maybe power customization will let us change this. I want mine to show "nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah" every time one of my /SR toggles makes an attack miss.

Hey now, I'm not all excited about the problems either but I won't begrudge them some time off for a national holiday. I have to work on days like these so to me it seems a little unfair, but I'm glad other folks don't have to.

It will get fixed, I will gnash my teeth until it does but everyone it entitles to some time off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

i dont car about people taking holidays off....however...today was NOT a holiday..tommorrow is..and yes im working it.

with a exspansion, new issue and tons of new bugs to squash... frankly they should all be at work today. even the banks and post offices were open..give me one GOOD reason why their not at work and ill retract it.

  9. Finshed selling all my overpriced PvP IOs. The devs can now fix this. kthxbai

How about a TV series where someone sits in a bunker and pushes a button. No-one would ever watch THAT would they ?

Even if they spruced it up with like a plane crash or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Really - we have so many people playing a game involving even less than that - I'm sure *someone* would watch that show.

Its the staggered series of different rewards that draws you in, I reckon. Badge progress, recipe drops, salvage drops, coupled with the small psychological buzzes like beating the mission boss or taking on multiple groups at once.

I first became aware of this pattern playing Diablo II - you were always ten minutes from the next levelup or the next waypoint or felt like something really cool might drop. That complicated pattern of rewards is much more enticing than one big drop very infrequently, and used to keep me up till the small hours.

In CoH these days its similar - each character I have will have a number of goals of different types - badges, IO sets, level up to get a cool power or finish a set, some marketeering goal maybe so they can afford a particular item. Just enough complexity so you can sometimes level up or get a badge by surprise because your mind was on another goal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely hear you on the Diablo II style incremental rewards enticement. I believe some research was even done suggesting the small, repeated, release of endorphins made it even more addictive than it would seem on the surface.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uh...theres been tons of studies done on that. Its called Classical and operant conditioning. Sort of basic psychology concepts. Also why slot machines are so ridiculously addictive to the right sort of person.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oddly, while such baiting works perfectly on me for my computer games, I find real-money gambling so unsatisfying that I have yet to spend more the $20 on it at any given time, and typically go months or years between gambling sessions.

If I sell the 2 I have left and the over-priced LotG +rchg I have listed, I'll finally have 1B on hand for one character. Clearly, the devs need to *NOT* fix this one too quickly.

    From rags to riches?

Where is your main server, btw? Just curious.

Been on Champion redside most of the past 3 months, but 3+ years before that was primarily hero-side Freedom with a bit of Virtue and Justice thrown in. Basically, wherever TopDoc makes a superteam, and wherever Repeat Offenders play will be my primary spots, but I'm a mostly solo-focused villain right now, so I'm on Champion with my stalkers and brutes for most of my evil ebilness.

so....any word when the bug is going to be fixed?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hopefully not for a little while longer. Just sold 2 PvP IOs (which I bought for <25M each) for 100M. When I bought them, I was bidding about 60% of last-5 pricing. They have more than doubled in "Buy it na0!" price since. I have 3 more to sell before I want this bug fixed.

If I sell the 2 I have left and the over-priced LotG +rchg I have listed, I'll finally have 1B on hand for one character. Clearly, the devs need to *NOT* fix this one too quickly.

  15. As Reiraku said, but I used Mako's in AS for better enhanced numbers. Otherwise, I did exactly as above.

Less than 7 digits and no more than 10% of what I have on hand.

But a few posts in even a backwater forum will get thousands more doing the same, which then will show up in the devs datamining.

except that there isn't, because Castle sez it's a bug.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its amazing the response you get from a reasonably worded question/commnent in the right place, isn't it ?

Im happy it is noted as a bug, hope its a quick fix.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't. I still have my 100M one to sell.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This. I have several PvP IOs that were listed at about 75% of last-5 pricing weeks ago when a sudden crash occurred, leaving me with one character hold 7 slots of PvP IOs that I'm too stubborn to pull and relist at half off what they're already listed for. If the shortage lasts long enough, maybe my prices will be attractive enough for them to sell.

    Bug?

Was some common IO recipes (L30 Acc showed the pop-up, L25 did not), some BotZ, and a few Obliteration recipes. On of the BotZ (travel/end) showed about half the time the typical info window. The BotZ: KB prot never showed it. One obliteration damage showed the first time I looked, but after I went to look for the salvage I couldn't get the pop-up again unless I used right-click --> Info. Very odd.

I don't even look at costume recipes since they dropped under a few million.

Never been able to get far with a mastermind, but having just this handful of binds makes the experience much better.

  24. RagManX

    Bug?

Had this hit me tonight. The even odder thing was that sometimes a recipe would show me the pop-up I expected, and sometimes wouldn't. Some recipes never showed me that window, some always did, and some did occasionally. Very odd.

  25. [ QUOTE ]
Now, if salvage prices spike to a point where the parts of an enhancement outprice the enhancement itself, lowbies will do fine. But it could also mean that they have a more tedious road ahead of them, depending on how their server's market is playing out.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It has always been the case that a patient buyer can get crafted common IOs for less than the price of the components, thanks to badgers. When Luck Charms were going for 70-100K, I used to buy Acc IOs which were crafted with Luck Charms for 17K, typically getting 5-10 of them per night. I would often sell them the next day for 200-350K, but kept them when I could use them. That's the power of the market earning you inf while you sleep.
