    Ele/Shield Build

    I haven't played this character in a while and I am having to respec to drop fitness and the Blessing of the Zephyr's I had slotted. The goal of the build is first soft capped positionals and then as much recharge as I can get so that shield charge and Lightning Rod come back quickly. Any thoughts on optimizing the attached build? I have a feeling endurance usage may be a bit high when all of the toggles are running; however, I don't want to respec until I have the build set.

    Also any recommendations on Incarnate powers? My normal 3 are:

    Alpha - Agility; though, I could see with going with Cardiac for this character also

    Destiny: Rebirth for the heal

    Inteface: Degenerative or Reactive

    I am running a TW/INV and I just hit 37. It is a endurance hog and for the first 30 levels or so I played it like a blaster....no toggles other then Unyielding on.

    However, now that I am getting set bonuses, Numina,Mmiracle and end reduction slotted in the attacks it is becoming manageable.

    We will see if it continues; however, I am liking it a lot.

    p.s. I would have gone with WP; however, I already have 3 at level 50 and I wanted to play a set I hadn't leveled before.
  3. Originally the defender version was set to 500 while the others were set to 360 I believe. So mids might just have the old defender values.
  4. 30 seconds is the recovery portion...1 minute 30 seconds for the recharge buff. It is possible I do it on my Defender.
  5. Not from one character. If you aren't working towards perma Chrono Shift you just need enough recharge so that you can pop Forsight right before it runs out for 0 downtime.

    Now if perma Chrono Shift is a goal then you will need quite a bit of recharge.
  6. I have a Time/Beam rifle defender and Power Build Up is a very difficult option to pass up. My build is posted below it has slightly better End usage, much higher to hit, slightly more recharge, is soft capped to Psionics, Melee and AoE and has better smash lethal resistance with worse (i.e. no) Energy Reistance.

    Now I understand that for concept purposes you want to go the electric route; however, Power Build Up + Farsight is just amazing.

    Oh I was also able to go with Clarion for mez protection 95% of the time.

    Just something to think about. I can understand wanting another hold; however, Time Crawl + Time Stop will hold most bosses.

    WP/SS Tank

    So normal game play (really anything outside of incarnate content) I have no issues with endurance; however, running a LAM today there were 3 instances where my recovery rate was set to to 0 for at least 10 seconds. Depending on when I noticed my recovery was nil and on whether a rage crash occurred it was possible for my end to crash during the window.

    I am sure the added tohit that they have was a factor; however, I am unsure whether buffing defense is worth it when this is the only time I am having this issue.

    WP/SS Tank

    I guess the major issue I am seeing is having my Recovery Rate zeroed out on Incarnate Trials. Now that may be a function of the fact I am only +1 currently; however, I am having issues keeping toggles up when I have no recovery for 10+ seconds.

    If that issue goes away when I get to +3 then I probably don't need to worry about mitigation; however, currently it is very frustrating.

    I have a few questions.

    1. With Fitness being an inherent ability now is Physical Presence the epic power set I should aim for if I am mostly concerned with mitigation?

    2. Currently I have tier 3 Alpha unlocked (and slotted with Spiritual Partial Core Revamp) would Cardiac be better for layering resistance or is the regen boost from Spiritual better)?

    3. Are there any slots/powers I can drop which will give me better overall mitigation? I have debated dropping Aid Self...but there are times it is useful and I haven't made up my mind yet.

    Any assistance that could be provided would be wonderful.
  10. Ok I found the problem. Under the effect's tab for Phalanx Fighting The affects was set to Target. Changing it to None properly displayed my Defense. And now I have 5 new slots to play with...joy.
  11. I am having a problem with Mids.

    My shield scrapper build in game is right about 45% Ranged Defense with the following bonuses/powers

    Battle Agility 17.6
    Phalanx Fighting 3.75
    Weave 5.85%
    Hover 2.35%
    3 Zephyr's 9.38%
    Steadfast 3%
    Numina 3.75%

    However Mid's only calls out 42.1%. Is there a known bug with Mid's where it won't count the 3.75% Defense from Phalanx? The reason I ask is because when I toggle Phalanx Melee and AOE go down while Ranged stays the same.
  12. Well one other thing you may consider is dropping Thunderkick (since you don't need the ranged bonus) and Elude (since you are already softcapped) and pick up aid other (1 slot) and aid self (3 slotted/4 slotted if you remove the end reduction from stealth).

    I love having aid self on defense based toons.

    Somebody probably has the math lying around somewhere; however, on average +10% global recharge will probably be better than a 10% chance at a 5 second burst of +100% recharge...RNG dependent of course.

    Unless you have stealth for concept reasons I would drop stealth and Elude, pick up kick and tough and put a steadfast protection in tough. It will make the rest of your build much more flexible and last time I checked it isn't that expensive blue side.

    Thanks for the quick response.
    One thing you might want to factor in is if you want to use the power as a set mule. Kick takes Knockback sets (and damage) while Boxing takes Stun (and damage).

    Boxing allows you to slot a cheap (relatively) purple set, Stupefy (+6.5 recharge/+3.13 Ranged) or Razzle Dazzle (+2.5 AOE/Melee Defense); while, kick allows you to slot a prettty good set in Force Feedback (+3.13 AOE) or Kinetic Crash (+7.5 Recharge).

    The build works very well from what I have seen (I basically solo'd 40 - 50 and rarely had to recast pets)...I just wanted to see if anyone could see any obvious areas where I could improve it.

  21. Quick question for you:

    How much do you notice the 15% damage buff from assault? If you switch it out for Maneuvers you softcap your build.

    And then if you want to get very expensive you could drop elude, franekn slot mind link for def/rec and pick up assault (while dropping Maneuvers....end cost could be bad though....(Defenses are way to high and different enhancements may be worth looking at).

  22. I cycle between Neutrino and Cosmic Burst on single target and Neutron Bomb and Irradiate during AOE's. I know quite a few members of my SG have Proton Volley slotted heavily but I could never find the slot for it in my build. Oh and of course Atomic Blast is there for removing a lot of enemies at a time.
  23. When I am chaining AOE attacks I go Soul Drain &gt; Irradiate &gt; Neutron Bomb &gt; Dark Consumption. So I would consider Neutron Bomb to be a main attack during my AOE run.
