While we're at it, I can't wear the shiny Pocket D dress underneath a jacket. Not cool.

What makes it particularly annoying is the fact that even if you did want catalysts on that character, the most you will ever need is six. Once you use six on that character, any more you get will be just about useless (I guess you could unslot already improved ATO's and slot new ones from the same set to improve, but that seems silly).

I think this is the point he was making. I suppose it was a little vague, but that's what I took from it.

Quote:Just gonna leave this here.Synapse certainly hoped so, and considering they BOTH wanted to spend valentines with him. If anyone has time for two girls at once it's a super speedster. I don't think that's one of the young faces on mandy/candy in the screen shot either. Looks like the one my main used to have. Doesn't come up so well in that screenie though. With that cleavage who's looking at the face

Ah I see - the "too many villains" problem that tends to plague big time superhero movies. Yes that's certainly something to be concerned about, but I'm optimistic that Joss can handle it, if it comes up. He's pretty good at managing a large cast of characters.

Quote:I dunno, screentime for Tom Hiddleston is never a bad thing. He's awesome.I'm thinking alien robot. Doesn't seem big enough or serpentine enough to be the Midgard Serpent.
The only thing that worries me about this movie is how Loki's army comes into play. I doubt Whedon's just going to have Loki show up with an army without giving them any kind of motivation or background, so there may be some degree of shoe-horning involved and whatever time spent delving into that is going to take away from Stark one-liners and Hulk smashy smashy. -

Quote:I'm about to defend Durakken. Or maybe just translate a bit.Yeah but being bothered by the "unlikely" parts of a science fiction story is borderline ridiculous. Do you get bothered by the warp drives and transporters in Star Trek? Sure they are probably the most "unlikely" parts of that franchise but if you didn't have those kinds of things you wouldn't have a science fiction story.
He's not saying those things are unlikely, and/or complaining about that. He's saying those things are NOT unlikely at all, but if you had to pick the MOST unlikely things, those are the two things you would pick.
In other words, everything in there sounds entirely plausible.
Edit to add: Also, that was a geat clip and I am really looking forward to this movie. Like a lot. -

Quote:As Aett mentioned, that was the Battalion they were referring to.I think a few years ago back when the Devs were first starting to talk about some kind of "post-50" content they came up a new faction type that was supposed to be specifically meant for it. It was going to drop special kinds of drops that would be geared for post-50 players.
I think that nugget of an idea evolved into the Incarnate content we have today. But perhaps they still want to give us some kind of special faction that only applies to Incarnates - this Elemental Order thing could turn out to be that. -

Quote:I don't know that that is true at all. That opinion is voiced very loudly by some folks here on the forums, and I'm sure it holds true for some not on the forums as well. But I don't think that that proves where the odds really lie.Odds are, if a player is playing the solo and small team content, they do not want to transition into the trial scene.
Quote:The other thing to consider is story line. This is a continuation of the Praetorian War story line... -

Quote:Just so your daughter's not too disappointed when it does go live... Beast Mastery is NOT part of I-22. It'll come later (but probably before I-23)^^^
This.
Plus I've been DYING to play a Dark/ Controller since I-2, and I've got a nine year old daughter that really REALLY wants to play a Beast Summoning MM. I've been very happy with the stability on Beta for awhile now, can't roll to live too soon IMO. :-)

I still think they are passing up a fantastic opportunity with this trial by making it +3 instead of +0.
At +0 and with BAF-like rewards, its simplicity and small league size would make it the perfect gateway trial to bring new Incarnates from the solo and small team content into the trial scene.
At +3 with amped up rewards, it's just going to be an Emp farm for the folks who already have their T4's.
The latter is something we need FAR less than the former.
Huge mistake, in my opinion. -
I'm having a little trouble with why we're caring about this...

Quote:No, actually that's not true. You can't get the VIP/Destined One badge, Cape of the Four Winds, or Arachnos Cape either. Like the Power Slide, those were all part of a Collector's Edition that people paid extra for, and they were told those items were exclusive, so that exclusivity is part of what they paid for.Is there some sort of contractual reason the power slide can not be bought? Every other example of a pre order or collector bonus can be bought or is a veteran reward.
The pre-order items, Good vs Evil items, and GR: Complete Collection items did not carry with them an added cost. And in the case of the GvE and GR:CC items, those were available to buy separately from the box at the same time or very shortly after the box release.
Whether that's a valid justification or not for keeping them exclusive now is something I have no opinion on. -
Quote:When you use one you are instantly transported to Mercy or Atlas, as appropriate.Yeah I have to assume they made it so that you can't be in a mission or a PvP zone while using one of these Tokens. You probably can't be in Ouroboros or a SG base either. But like I said before it might be worth experimenting regardless - I'm sure someone will try all these things soon enough.

Quote:This about sums it up - I agree that these are not valuable enough to me to pay real money for (or use my stipend points which are comparable to real money anyway). However, I love using them when I have them from my rewards. But the value (such as it is) in these is not in the increased chance for high end drops. It's the increase in inf and more common drops. Pointing out that you got more additional commons than additional very rares when using one isn't really saying anything. It does boost the good drops, you just didn't notice them because your sample size is too small. Alternatively another person could come here and get 5 purple drops while under windfall, but chances are if those purples were going to drop, they would have dropped anyways.
Windfall affects the drop rate of very rare recipies by 50%. Let's say Purples have a 0.1% chance to drop. Under windfall you would have a 0.15% chance to get a purple drop. Let's also say common recipies have a 50% chance to drop. Under windfall your chance for a common to drop would be 75%. The increase to common recipies is greater than the increase to very rare recipies, but it's still proportionally larger.
This is the same thing all over again when you complained that you were getting more commons/uncommons than rares/very rares in Keyes. Keyes did get a boost to it's rare/very rare drop rate but that didn't make those rare/vr drops more common than commons, which is fine.
Is the windfall boost to drops too small to be worth buying? Yeah probably. Is windfall worth using if you get it from a paragon reward? Yeah, absolutely, especially if you use it in the right environment. It's not going to make very rares drop any more than commons, uncommons, or rares, but the OVERALL amount of drops you get will increase by about 50% as it is stated subject to RNG and outliers.
