The Elemental Order costume set screams lore. who are they and how do they fit into the CoX realm? it's obvious to me that they are good guys since there were at least 2 of them at Statesman's funeral. this also suggests that they are connected to the lore of CoX since there were only signature heroes and groups at the funeral.

Yes, i understand that all those outfits could be recreated by players, however, this was a non live event.

Actually, there were some Council War Wolves present too, together with a few in CoT outfits and War Works. So to say only good guys were there is incorrect.

I think a few years ago back when the Devs were first starting to talk about some kind of "post-50" content they came up a new faction type that was supposed to be specifically meant for it. It was going to drop special kinds of drops that would be geared for post-50 players.
I think that nugget of an idea evolved into the Incarnate content we have today. But perhaps they still want to give us some kind of special faction that only applies to Incarnates - this Elemental Order thing could turn out to be that.

The Battalion need some scarier looking armor then. The helmet and mask are perfect but an invasion of sophisticated gentlemen in tuxedos seems a bit anticlimatic for something built up for this long. Maybe I'm just thinking about a certain 50,000 year old race looking as intimidating as I hoped.

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

ok so I didnt notice those other random NPCs (they had to be since the event was staged and not live) with the other costume sets, still this does not mean they werent actual ally NPCs. Even so, the design and nature of their costume parts acquisition seems to say they have something more to the game than mearly a different way to market costume parts.

My WAG: Concept art that was originally either for an updated Nemesis, or, for a faction that got nixed in the early planning stages and they realized it was too good not to make it.

Elementar was a famous hero from the Golden age. He was one of the co-founders of The Freedom Phalanx which was founded on July 4, 1932.
Conducting weather balloon tests in stormy weather Raymond George Washington was struck by a bolt of lightning. The blast launched him into the air, where he was struck four more times.
Hospitalized with comparatively minor wounds, which healed quickly without scarring, Raymond found he could sense the weather, and eventually discovered how to control it.
According to the City of Heroes novel The Freedom Phalanx, Elementar became one with the storm in 1978 while saving the city from the Broodcloud. (p. 108)
Isn't that the Battalion? I think they're still scheduled for deployment soon.

This just in from Ustream: "Elemental Order" was just a name for the costume set. Although they Content Writers can always come up with something if they chose to.
