Who are the Elemental Order?

The Elemental Order costume set screams lore. who are they and how do they fit into the CoX realm? it's obvious to me that they are good guys since there were at least 2 of them at Statesman's funeral. this also suggests that they are connected to the lore of CoX since there were only signature heroes and groups at the funeral. does any one have some cannon lore on them? or perhaps this is a new group (with historical ties to the signature heroes) that we havent been introduced to yet.

Just wanted to point out that the "random" people attending the funeral were all purchasable costume sets, not necessarily anything to do with lore.

Which explains why the Praetorian clockwork were there, since those are purchased separately without GR.

Actually, there were some Council War Wolves present too, together with a few in CoT outfits and War Works. So to say only good guys were there is incorrect.
Yes, i understand that all those outfits could be recreated by players, however, this was a non live event.

Could be sponsoring that item pack. Not sure if that's still on the market.

I think a few years ago back when the Devs were first starting to talk about some kind of "post-50" content they came up a new faction type that was supposed to be specifically meant for it. It was going to drop special kinds of drops that would be geared for post-50 players.

I think that nugget of an idea evolved into the Incarnate content we have today. But perhaps they still want to give us some kind of special faction that only applies to Incarnates - this Elemental Order thing could turn out to be that.

Sure. All I'm saying is that they may just be reworking some of their older ideas to fit into the realities of the game as it is today.

Ah yeah I agree 100%. Never meant for that to sound like a correction or anything. I originally thought Elemental Order was another part of the tier 9 VIP set.

Isn't that the Battalion? I think they're still scheduled for deployment soon.

The Battalion need some scarier looking armor then. The helmet and mask are perfect but an invasion of sophisticated gentlemen in tuxedos seems a bit anticlimatic for something built up for this long. Maybe I'm just thinking about a certain 50,000 year old race looking as intimidating as I hoped.

Oh, sorry. I'm not saying that the Battalion wear the Elemental Order outfits, just that they were the "post-50 enemy group." Basically, I was saying that the Elemental Order are more likely not the post-50 group, because that group is going to be the Battalion.

"Ok, we got the plan, the weaponry, the leadership and the will to succeed. Only one thing is missing... TO THE MEN'S WEARHOUSE!"

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

As Aett mentioned, that was the Battalion they were referring to.

ok so I didnt notice those other random NPCs (they had to be since the event was staged and not live) with the other costume sets, still this does not mean they werent actual ally NPCs. Even so, the design and nature of their costume parts acquisition seems to say they have something more to the game than mearly a different way to market costume parts.

There are some CoT at Statesman's funeral draw, so probably just different costume sets nothing to do with lore.

Elementar was a famous hero from the Golden age. He was one of the co-founders of The Freedom Phalanx which was founded on July 4, 1932.

Conducting weather balloon tests in stormy weather Raymond George Washington was struck by a bolt of lightning. The blast launched him into the air, where he was struck four more times.
Hospitalized with comparatively minor wounds, which healed quickly without scarring, Raymond found he could sense the weather, and eventually discovered how to control it.

According to the City of Heroes novel The Freedom Phalanx, Elementar became one with the storm in 1978 while saving the city from the Broodcloud. (p. 108)

It takes a long time for him to die. If anything happens, it'll be in I23.
