  1. Thanks a bunch you even got some usefull stuff I didnt ask in there, I can see only 1 more question.

Can bodyguard mode effectively put you over the 75% resist cap or does it count towards the cap? If I have capped my resist with tough, world of pain and a patron shield so that when I get attacked with a 100 damage attack I only take 25 damage, if I am in bodyguard mode will I only take 8.333 damage, 2/6ths of that 25% giving me effectively better resists than a tank or will it hit the cap and just hurt my pets needlessly unless it is a damage type that I have low resists for?
  2. Team teleport is more offencive than defencive in that situation, you have to be near your petsd then you can all TP together to another location, it sounds like what you need it the veteran power assemble the team, which will bring your temmates and pets to you from wherever they happen to be (within the zone/map) unfortunatlely its recharge is extremely long.

I am not aware of blasters getting any self -TP buffs, could it be thet they have defence and your TP foe does not have enough ACC to hit them reliably (My scrapper has 3acc IOs in it and has to pop build up before TP for a fairly reliable TPfoe, yeah I do less damage when they get there but at least they do normally get there) or they are teamed with a Kinetic? May I sugest you use these tactics to your advantage?
  3. Does anyone know what the score with MM bodyguard mode is? I know the henchmen share my damage but is it the damage that comes toward me or the damage i take? If I have defence and the foe misses me i guess they dont take any damage...

But if I have say 50% resist and a 100damage attack hits me do they get a share of the original 100damage or the 50 damage that is left after my resist?

If the henchmen have defence or resist themselves can they evade or resist their share of the damage or does that only effect the damage they are taking from the foe directly?
  4. oops, I hadn't noticed that phalanx fighting's defence is un-enhanceable, I totally get why no one slots it now and I've respeced now so have two more slots to play with.
  5. Forgive my noobiness to shields but I have a couple of questions.

What do the 3 membranes in Active Defence give you that 3 recharge SOs wouldn't?

Why does nobody slot Phalanx Fighting for defence?

For a tank maybe, but for a blaster the 3% to all from the power & enhancers, boosted up to 6% ranged from the 6th red fortune is kinda a big deal.
  7. "Anyone Running into a Defiance Issue?"

Yes I have, when I get low on health now I cant kill all the foes quickly to save my skin.

    Uber veterans

I've been playing from the start.

what toons have you been playing for all this time?

I've played loads of toons and have 50s for all circumstances and rolls within each AT heroside so if I get asked to help with something I can allways switch to the perfect toon for the job with the existing team make up, I have a fair few merged ATs too like tankfender scraptroller blanker, blapper and scraster although most of these are just for fun and non optimal there are some exceptions, my dark/rad/presence tankfender is WAY more tanky than any tank at low levels and will forever have an exemping build, the fire/fire blapper with a FF and a Kin its just the most stupid amount of damage possible. I haven't counted my toons across the servers, apart from Virtue and Justice most of them are just 1 or 2 day server outage toons of low level but I would guess under 100, 23x 50 heroes so far and only 1 50 villain I really don't like being evil much at all.

have you played one from when you started till now?

The first toon I made was PuffCat a claws/regen and I played her through to the level cap at 40, when I hit 40 I made a second toon a katana/Inv modelled after myself with my own name but I didn't play it much before I switched back to PuffCat who I played exclusively untill the third batch of regen nerfs made me so squishy comparitively that I couldnt stomach playing her any more and I changed her build to a flying scraster build which made her reasonably tough again but limited the damage somewhat, I think I played about another issue like that before I shelved her around i5 maybe. I then made a fire/ff controller and played her until at lvl 43 I got in an argument with a team member who told me off for letting his bubble drop during a mish, I was on point and too busy controlling at the time to rebubble but despite not getting hit he made a big deal of it, so told the team I would make sure they were OK and would bubble anyone that got hit but I would not be bubbling otherwise, there was more argument but we went on and during that mish and the next one not only did nobody get hit but none even got shot at apart from me such was my control, realising that at high lvl FF was just dead weight I re-rolled into fire/kin and had a real bad time leveling back up, I rarely had a problem getting a team as FF but nobody knew what Kin dark or storm could do back then and if you weren't an emp healer or FF you were solo, I eventually made it to 32 though and with my gaggle of imps 38 was not far behind then 6 slotted for recharge and FSed my swarm of imps herded me to 50 just before the great controller nerf, when that hit I couldn't face playing that toon either and contracted altitus which I don't believe there is a cure for. When IOs came out I respeced PuffCat back into a scrapper build and slotted her for defence, with 30%+ positional defence she is tough enough again and back in regular play.

    whats your favourite build?

My favorite build is spines/DA you can be scrapper, blaster, controller and tank, but unlike Khelds you get to do it all at the same time without having to switch forms and even better you don't even have to think about it too much its more or less just flipping out and killing stuff in scrapperlock but you can do it from range too and with stun/fear side effects to anyone in mele and with those side effects and your AoE damage and damage auras the only things that will out agro you are rain powers and tanks, its a smiley happy build for sure and the only one good enough for me to make it twice, I have a HO build on justice and an IO build on Virtue.
My favourite powersets deserve a mention too and is Dark Miasma for a primary and Kinetic as a secondary. I believe the Most underrated set is sonic resonance, I wish there were more sonic about and that hope like with kin after a while people will twig and start rolling them.

    Liquefy Slotting

Speaking of HOs working for both positive and negative values and enhancing things they shouldn't, if you slot sonic siphon or disruption field with Ribos which fit in for the end reduction will they enhance the -resist as well?

    Help with /Sonic

On the subject, is there a cap to -resist? If so what is it?
  11. I wouldn't accepted a invite TF with an unslotted build either.

If as you say the team was all over the place to the extent that you weren't within range of any of them to bubble them within 4 minutes of last bubbling them, then I think the real answer is that you need a travel power or the combat jumping/hurdle combo on your team build so you can keep up with the team.

The bubbles have a range of 80' but dispersion bubble is only 25' and leadership 60' so if as you say they didn't stay together enough or moved too fast for you to bubble them they would have been getting absolutely nothing from your solo build apart from gimped blaster damage, but your secondary, Energy blasts are split with 80' and some 40' range apart from the snipe which means (if you were fighting) you were at least in bubble range of the tank some of the time, and if the tank is doing its job and agroing well bubbling just the tank is a huge benefit to the team's survival nobody else really NEEDS a bubble. Although of course with the full team bubbled and scrappers not having to worry about AoEs, blasters free to blapp and defenders attacking instead of healing any stray agro the team will roll better.

As to your original question, it would depend on the team, and in this one which was rolling along quite nicely without the bubbles and you adding either gimped bubbler or gimped blaster to that I would have to say "What I would rather have" would be a blaster or scrapper.

Now stop wasting your time reading the forum and go respec into some movement then slot out your team build.

  14. The +end proc in dark regen is the most important IO you will slot, it you have ED capped end reduction in dark regen and fire it to recover health from the alpha while there are still plenty of foes around, on average you will get the heal for free gaining as much end as it costs which makes a HUGE difference.
  15. Here's mine, pretty much all end bonus and no defence but its fine for 6 man Dreck or 8man with some sort of buffer present, you could be much tougher if you slot for defence and are prepared to munch blues, but I just wanted an end to my end worries when IOs came out and it did the trick.
hasten is great if you can fit it in, more throw spines and spine burst with less single target filler cant be a bad thing, I couldn't fit it in though, maybe if your a pure MA farmer you could ditch SJ for it.
