Mac, I'm with you on this. I also do what was mentioned above. I have an alt parked at the registrar. When rent is due, I log it in, pay it, and move on. I have one on red side and one on blue.
  2. Lots of people handle Stamina in different ways. I usually slot 2 EndRed IOs, a Performance Shifter EndRed and the proc, but if I can afford the slots, I may go with whole sets. Slot the Numina and Miracle uniques in Health. After that, there are several cheap sets that offer some bonuses, Thunderstrike, Cleaving Blow, and some others.

Blasters running several toggles can sometimes get into trouble without investing in serious IO bonuses.
  3. I could be wrong, but I think the damage component is to-hit, but the slow component is auto-hit. Don't worry about the damage. Caltrops is a damn handy slow/mitigation power.
  4. I guess there's also the feeling that if you have maxxed out on purples that you will have so much +recovery, +accuracy, and whatnot that some powers or slots may become superfluous and can be replaced by others that may actually help you survive. I would love to have enough slots to be able to 6-slot health with three uniques (Miracle, Numina, Panacea) and three standard green IOs. That would help me survive, but I can rarely justify the use of that many slots in Health. Perhaps with the right purples, you wouldn't need to slot the Kismet unique, or get Focused Accuracy.

    Just a thought.
  5. I do a little bit of everything. Occasionally, I will make a lvl 25 LotG +7.5% and sell it. Sometimes, I roll a bunch at 50 to keep the bins full for toons as they come up. And sometimes I'll buy and craft that last IO I need to complete a build.

But, lately, I haven't been doing much of anything. I'm nearing 10k unspent merits on my small batch of active TFing toons. I probably get near 100 merits a night, on average.
  6. I have the same problem on my desktop. It's intermittent, however. Sometimes it loads right up. Sometimes, I have to wait for 15 minutes for the NEXT button to appear.

    Thanks.

I have 115. How is this accumulated?
  8. I doubt I have much of a rep at all. Where do we find this information?
  9. Good run!

The English Teacher in me must remind you that it is "fewer" people, not "less" people.
  10. Sorry to hear that, Chloe. But, it's an excuse to get a new one, eh?

Now I'm nervous. I'm running an 8800 and its just chugging along, running Ultra Mode when I want it to look cool, but 90% of the time I run in the lowest settings, especially when I'm double- or triple-boxing.

    Buff vs Debuff

I see the value between buffing and debuffing easily put as such: Teams doing fast-moving general battles, moving through mobs, etc. find buffs more handy. There's a set-it-and-forget-it element to most buffs that helps to keep from slowing things down. However, whenever anything occurs to slow down the steady roll, an AV, an odd spawn of several mobs in close proximity, a death room configuration, debuffs are more valuable.

Just a general rule of thumb.
  12. I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but a Stone tank doesn't need granite all the time. A stone tank slotted for recharge and movement running all the other armors is a speed demon tank with none of the penalties of granite. And if something comes up that is going to push it, pop granite and be essentially invincible.

If you are looking for the tankiest tank, then stone is your choice.

Other sets are great fun and can be very sturdy, but stone is the toughest.

I'm having similar problems. I've downloaded it and can see it in the folder, but after I install it, it continues to run the old version, and I keep getting the prompt that there is an update available.

    That's what I thought too. Kinda like a proto-radio.

Cool, I played for about an hour and a half last night and two dropped to me, a Jet Pack and a Backup Radio.

Fair enough. I'm not confused and I'm not complaining about how you or anyone else plays. Play however you want. If you have fun doing it, by all means, do it. I don't suggest you stop. Attack all the afkers you want. I'm fine with it.
  19. Optical_Illusion, please feel free to play however you want. And if I happen to be afk when you attack me, I promise not to be upset with you. But, I surely don't have to like you for it.
  20. I'm not sure what you are getting at, Optical-Illusion.

I think people who attack afkers confuse what they "can" do with what they "should" or are "supposed" to do.

The devs never said that you must mindlessly attack everything in a PvP zone. There are plenty of times when you prep for battle and lay out boundaries and set parameters. If two PvPers preparing for battle were discussing terms and one suddenly jumped the other guy when he said he had to get a drink for a second before the fight, that wouldn't be what the player "should" do. Sure, they "can" do it, but for social reasons, they don't. Usually. And you surely wouldn't say that they guy who beat up his opponent while he was afk for a second pre-fight was "PvPing". That's griefing, in my book.

For that same reason, I don't attack afkers. If someone wants to fight me, I'm game to go at it. Or not. But, on the other hand, if I happen to be afk, I don't get angry at the guy that attacks me. The zone is set up for PvP and if I go there I'm opening myself up to all sorts of things like that.

I see PvP as Player versus Player, Not Player versus Non-Player. Attacking someone who isn't fighting back is, as I said before, "farming."

I agree that anyone in a PvP zone is fair game to be attacked. If you don't want to open yourself up for attack, then stay out. Don't get angry when someone ganks you.

But attacking someone who isn't fighting back is pleasure being had at the expense of another and if that isn't the clearest definition of "griefing" I don't know what is.

Kill afk-ers if that's what you want to do, but let's not pretend that is what you are "supposed" to do. Killing people who are afk is called "farming."
  22. The i17 Opening Day was a great day for me.

    1) I didn't think my comp could run Ultra. It can. I have a nVidia 8800. Looked great.

    2) I got a purple and got to see the new purple "recipe found" pop up. I got the Contagious Confusion proc, which is one of my favorites.

    3) I got dropped two temp powers, a Jet Pack and a Back-up Radio.

    4) I worked a DS/Therm build on Mid's. I think it's going to be pretty good.

It was the best issue Opening Day I have ever been on, even though, I was on an LGTF with some green mitos that didn't want to cooperate.
  23. I also had fun in the hour or so I got to participate.

I did have something happen I'd never seen before. It was perhaps due to the lag, but at one point I was knocked off the hill (I'm a tank), my toggles all dropped and I was held for about 11 minutes of real time. I was out of the fray so I wasn't getting attacked, but was permaheld, just standing there watching the action.
  24. I use inspirations liberally, most of the time. I do, however, keep four in my rack at all times, my Oh Crap! pile: One rez, one bf, one blue and one green. Just for those times when you need to get up and there is no other way.
