Who honestly cares if people make Freak farms in MA. It's not like you can't get them outside of the MA. There is no "exploitation" involved.
[/ QUOTE ]
And the MA doesn't give you Day Job rewards, mission complete bonuses, or purples. You may as well just run paper mishes, or even *gasp* story arcs. -
I remember joining one farming team that all got themselves killed in a few minutes. Nobody disagreed that the Meow farming attitude was to blame.
-
I think it's just that freaks are *relatively* easier to fight than most high-level mobs.
They should mix them up in the high levels more. I wanna see more of the unique mobs, like Sonic Freaks and Sneaky Freaks. -

I refer you to a word that is very popular among "gangstas" a word that is used to describe their best friend, which was once used only to keep them down. A word that I know would be censored, and even if it wasn't I would get modsmacked and possibly banned because I am white and used it.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is, of course, a difference here. The N-word you alluded to has been embraced as a way to remove its stigma. If I were a black man, I might feel that me using the N-word is empowering, as now it is MY word, not the word of silly racist white people. The same goes for the other F-word and the gay community (though that one offends me regardless).
[/ QUOTE ]
All this does is end up with people of all races all over the world using the word unironically because they think it's cool. -
I think the title is pretty good. Most of the suggestions I've read here are either awkward or generic.

You mean "oh yeah no more nerfs" followed by ED was telling folks what they didn't wanted to hear?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. He never said no more nerfs.
He said they were done with massive changes to the /powers/ (GDN being the massive changes to various defensive powers and aoe holds for the big items).
Then went and changed/nerfed the enhancement system.
They are separate systems. Like like a wife and husband are separate people of the same (hopefully) functional married couple
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a technicality and still a dick move, ED did effectively nerf a lot of powers, even if it levelled the playing field. From what I hear anyway, this was before my time. -
This is the reason farming is bad for the game- people start thinking that the game's all about farming, and have trouble being convinced otherwise.

"Moment of Glory" is that scene in a fighting anime series like 'Bleach', 'Dragonball Z', 'Yu Yu Hakusho', etc. where one side unleashes some horrible instant kill/total annihilation attack that hits the target with a massive sky rending explosion. The smoke clears only to reveal that the target not only survived but is only slightly singed, hair mussed with a little blood out of the corner of their mouth.
THAT is "Moment of Glory".
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure superhero comics did stuff like that first.
But yeah, that about sums it up. -
...well, I've seen large mobs, they seem to stand about an in-game foot away from each other...

*Facepalm* Seems it really is gonna take the wrath of the devs to get it through people's heads rather than just threats.
[/ QUOTE ]
do you really expect anything less?
[/ QUOTE ]
No all it takes is them making MA the way they want people to use it.
[/ QUOTE ]
And which people's way would that be?
[/ QUOTE ]
Positron's way. It's his toy and I don't want him to have another hissy fit.
So if he has some way he wants it used (and he does) he should be absolutely clear about that. The only way to be absolutely clear is to actually build it that way.
The devs keep beating around the bush and making everyone jump through hoops. It is boring at best. Cut to the end where you force MA to behave the way that he wants it by coding it in place.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, it's so HARD not to farm! It's not as if there's hundreds of perfectly good missions against challenging enemies that have been available for five years! What's a player to do, it's as if the devs don't want the game to be an effortless grindfest... -
[ QUOTE ]
Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback. I started an Axe/WP Brute and am enjoying him, but, I also have a corrupter and stalker to try out as well. This game makes making alts too easy!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, you ain't seen nothin' yet...
Pretty much all villains solo well, though some do better than others. Corruptors are the most team-oriented AT, while Dominators require a bit of mob micromanagement and luck to solo. I think Soldiers of Arachnos of all kinds also solo pretty well, though they add a lot to a team... -

probably have a look at the edits they have made on there builds, when other powersets have been nerfed like hell!

Statesman was some sort of Invuln/SS tanker- and he took Invuln tankers down in strength by a factor of about THIRTY. Yes, they used to be 3000% as hard to kill as they are right now.
[/ QUOTE ]
They actually gave it some buffs recently.
Point is, they're not the kind of devs who buff the heck outta their favourite class. By the way, are there any actual examples of that happening in ANY MMO? I just can't imagine anyone would get away with that. -
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The amount of people who quit because the AE farms were fixed is absolutely minuscule compared to the amount who would have quit if the exploits were not fixed. When the game becomes a mindless, effortless grindfest and nobody has any idea how to do the high-level content, the game just isn't any fun anymore. The devs don't want that to happen, and neither do I.
And anyone who quit because they were afraid of being caught cheating is probably someone who wouldn't be fun to have around anyway. -
I can only imagine what that drug is meant to actually treat.
Y'know, if you read the backstory to the Trolls, nobody actually knows where Superadine came from, how it was discovered or what its original purpose was... -

if you go off of kill count i think bush won

The point still stands. *zing* -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure why it's happening, but I've noticed lots of people just quitting with no notice too lately. I always make sure to tell people before we start what level it's capped at and how long I expect it to take. And yet people still quit due to not getting xp or it taking too long. Just don't get it.

Meow farms. -

Yes, people group outside of AE all the time.
If you're having trouble, you can do a few things:
1) Set your LFT comment to "No AE missions"
2) Form your own teams
3) Looking into Freedom's forum, and advertise for groups there (either by forming your own, or looking to join a group that is non AE-focused).
4) Get out of Atlas Park and look for teams elsewhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
5) Get off of Freedom. It seems to be the server that hasn't got the memo that farms were nerfed. -

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't envy their position. They can either allow MA to be abused horrendously or bring down the wrath of heaven on its misuse, progressively alienating more and more players with each exploitative loophole they close. I suppose I'd go with "stop the abuse and suffer the consequences" myself, and I think the devs will do the same, but that combined with all the other angst and threats to the game out there means the servers may be pretty quiet places a year from now.

The amount of people who quit because exploits were closed is minuscule compared to the amount of people who would have quit if the exploits remained open.

Of course, the good guys don't often make a lasting effect either... Croatoa's still infested with supernatural horrors.

In an old TV series called Blakes 7, the "bad guys" were actually the good guys and the "good guys", the government, were the evil doers.

Done before - Robin Hood comes to mind.

When was the last time the government were the GOOD guys? -

Day 2, evening: the Fire/kin is level 12.
I can unequivocably state the following: I have played many ATs and many sets. I'm experienced as a player. Been around.
I AM IN ENDURANCE-ISSUES HELL!!
I have never, and I do mean never, ever seen anything with endurance issues like this, and this includes all AoE-sportin' Brutes and Scrappers I've owned.
I can't believe so many people think End. issues don't need adjusting. This is beyond stupid, its beyond inconvenient, its beyond any dream of logical balance. I can see that the next eight levels are gonna be honey bunches o'fun. [sigh] After a while I was like "**** this" and I went and ran a TF with friends on a level 50.
And people wonder why others want to PL past these levels! Its like a dentist visit with no Novocaine.
To be continued...

This is why everyone loves Speed Boost in the lower levels. -
#4? Wow, that's pretty high up there. I'd be proud if I were Jack, even if it's just one website's list.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that Supa Trolls usually don't survive long, as the Superadine overdose burns out their bodies.
