You bought Going Rogue, so you have access to all things DIRECTLY RELATED to Going Rogue itself- Allignment, Praetoria, the power sets, the zones. Incarnates are not related to Going Rogue in that way, the closest you could have had was a sneak peak at FUTURE content, which the Alpha Slot was intended to be. That was also removed before the launch of the game and was never stated as 100% going to happen. Alpha Slot is not part of Going Rogue.
And on the same coin, it never should be. There'd be no point to being a VIP if you could have everything VIPs do on a Premium account. Premium is not intended for you to drop from VIP and have the same gameplay. It's intended for you to be able to play, at a loss, without needing to pay. You will never get the same level of gameplay and ALL the functions that VIPs do. The Incarnate system is VIP only. That is a benefit of paying the fee. -
Apart from using a Crowbar or Gravity? ;P
Well, I'd say avoid the Twinshot and Dr. Graves arcs like the plague, but I know you already planned to do that for at least one of them. Essentially, if the dialogue options matter that much to you that you want to avoid the ones that can't be handwaved as simple hand motions like yes, no, I don't know, where to, that sort of thing, you just need to avoid Praetorian content and the first couple of new arcs introduced with i21.
Most of the content before Going Rogue gives a fairly good vague response from your side that could easily be achieved by a nod, a wave, a point, that sort of thing. The Tip and Morality missions, at least the ones put in first, are fairly good about that too. I haven't had a chance to do them recently.
It's a shame you're not going villain, or else I'd say Stardiver and the Radio would get along nicely- One side of the conversation can't say a word, and the other side doesn't shut up. -
Why do his nipples have flaps?
And, more on topic- They aren't doing maintenance at certain times to purposefully or ignorantly inconvenience Oceanic players. Their studio is in North America, most of their customer base is in North America, their servers are in North America. One way or another, they WILL inconvenience people with down time, but inconveniencing the MAJORITY of the customer base at prime time is just a very stupid idea in general. If it's a choice between that or having the server hopefully up and running by the time the majority of players generally get online, it only makes sense to pick the latter. -

I'm a big fan of the new tutorial, but it really doesn't teach more than the old one. It teaches far less. I played through it a few times in beta and I could just tell, compared to Outbreak and Breakout, it was lacking a lot of fairly important functions.
Compared to Outbreak though, this tutorial is so much more entertaining for me. No needless wandering around, no hopping back and forth to old contacts, no wandering a long street for a randomly picked door which could be a needlessly long distance from Coyote, etc. Breakout on the other hand somewhat remedied those issues while still keeping the informative state of things, and I ran Breakout on almost every character, and not just for the badge. Outbreak, I ran once every few months, and usually only by accident. -
Quote:That's my thought. Generally, Bane seems like he has the most 'normal' ideas of crime- Drug trafficking, robberies, that sort. He doesn't really have any gimmicks either besides the mexican wrestler sort of deal, so you wouldn't have to dress up as a clown, in question marks or a suit built to withstand extreme cold to go to work, just put on a mask and some clothes you can punch people in the face while wearing. Only downside might be if you have to take Venom and you get addicted.Bane.
Why? I don't know. Seems a 'tad' more stable than a lot of them and a little more straightforward rather than off-the-wall wacko.
Plus, hey, you're siding with the guy who has literally broken Batman before. That should give you some street cred. -
I'm hoping it's consistently used, even if it's only in specific cases such as this- According to the article, they solved this problem in 10 days when 'scientists' hadn't been able to figure it out in years. Thinking that way, if they put all their current problems out there to the world then checked or double checked the 'highest scored' solutions, they could conceivably make a big leap forward in understanding of scientific facts and medicines.
What downsides are there to putting more of these problems out there? -
The Hero of Paragon, the man they call Jaaaaaaaay.
That was terrible, I apologize. -

There's nothing to not accept. They can't do the majority of the stuff they say in the EULA, it's just there so nobody can try and sue them over any outlandish claims they make just because the EULA doesn't bring it up.
-
Not really- If it didn't cover every single possible base, they could get sued through a loophole. So they say completely over the top and completely overarching things to cover themselves in every possible situation in which they might ban an individual. It's really not unusual.
-
I'd hazard a guess at 'Because none of the EULA is intended to actually enforce anything but rather to protect the company from being sued because of butthurt former customers who got banned for 'wrongful' reasons.'
-
What was said was completely accurate- The poster being quoted in the previous post was saying that before Freedom, Vets would receive Vet Badges that were multiple badges. This is incorrect, he's referencing claiming buttons which just have the same badge graphic for the one they're in. The post you're quoting is correcting that- There were not multiple veteran badges in any one month of subscription before Freedom.

Quote:Pfft, you don't know that for certain. They might add a sub-clause saying that if your pr0n folder is over 3.5 gigs in size, you may or may not be eligible for a ban. After all, with that much 'extra curricular' media on your computer, how much time can you possibly spend giving them money? ;PTo the VERY small number of people who thing NCSoft would use this to do naughty things to your PC, do get some level of common sense, please? What POSSIBLE reaason could they have for doing so? They REALLY don't care just how big your pron folder is, you know?
I kid, obviously. I've seen a lot of over-arching and very base covering text in EULAs all over the place. I agree with LevitatingLargeGentleman, they have absolutely no reason to do anything malicious. Why bother doing something like that and not just losing a customer, but many, many customers and risking a run in with law enforcement when they could just NOT do anything malicious and keep getting an income? -
Quote:I can see that being the complaint, but really, why would anyone pay monthly for a subscription if they can pay once and have access to all the features a VIP would? One large-ish payment and they get all the benefits of a VIP for the entire length of their time, essentially, while a VIP would have to continue to pay to have the same benefits. It essentially makes the VIP the WORSE option when it's obviously being planned for it to be the best.If I may (and I apologize for not seeing this thread sooner)...
It sounds like Death_Badger's complaint is not that they want access to Incarnates for free; rather, that they want to be able to BUY it, for a one-time payment, rather than RENT it as an ongoing monthly subscription.
As I understand it, there's no way for Premium players to buy a "lifetime Incarnate license"; that endgame is being dangled as one of the big carrots to get people to subscribe. (By contrast, I gather there IS a way to get a "lifetime IO license" - I think someone mentioned 27 tokens?)
The problem is that the point of MMOs is to have some constant stream of funding. If it were possible to get nearly everything the recurring payment group can get just by having one rush of payments, why would anyone do the VIP except to get access to Exalted? -
I'd actually be okay with having a 'powered down' version of Energy, to be honest- At the cost of doing less damage, you lose the knock effects of your powers. It helps keep everyone where you want them, but at the cost of not having such powerful attacks.
-
The thing I like more than anything about this game is that you can have a character that looks completely plain in a t-shirt and jeans that can handle the same enemies that a huge sword wielding glowing guy in full armour can take down. Adding any form of buff to auras makes it so to be as effective as everyone else, you have to glow or emit flames even if it makes no sense to do so on your costume.

Quote:Because you couldn't get those powersets by also just playing normally for a certain amount of months to let your points build up and get them for no more than what you pay to play normally. You ALSO have the choice of paying a little more to buy them as soon as they appear. You didn't have a choice before- You could either pay your subscription fee and the extra price to get those powers, or you could not get those powers. Now, you can get those power sets just by waiting a little while and spending your gathered points on them. How is that better than what we have now? Now, ALL powersets are free to paying customers... how is it fair if some are restricted to those who can stump up the extra cash on top of their monthly fees? :-\
But again, nothing's certain about how much they'll cost, or how often power sets will need to be bought by VIP members.
[Edit] Quoted the wrong person there. -
A ton of the Responsibility Loyalist arcs were pretty much awesome, especially if you were going through them with the intention of being a good guy. In the back of your mind, you know you're technically a bad guy, but it's still fairly shocking when you have to do somewhat evil things because there's no other choice. You take down the Resistance because they kill people and cause absolute chaos wherever they go, and from the point of view you see them, they are without doubt the bad guys... Most of the time. Then you get an arc or two early on that have them doing something you might condone if they did it in another way.
Essentially, at the beginning, you're doing the right thing. You're stopping hospital bombings, you're saving civilians from the evil Resistance, and protecting the people you're sworn to protect. Then, by the end, you're actually hurting the citizens more than the Resistance are by considering hiding the truth from them. You want to be the good guy, but there are no 'good guys' in Praetoria, and I like how the story makes that clearer the more toward the end you come to. -

I still think being torn in half and crossing a mountain to get your other half to merge back with you is a bit much. Especially when the Hulk did it.
-
Wolverine has recovered from being torn in half, having both halves of him separated over a mountain, then crawling his upper torso across said mountain and rearranging his body so he heals back together.
Bullet to the head = Nothing.
