This whole thing smacks to me of them taking a pot-shot at the all the AMV craziness going around, and gaming video getting hit in the cross-fire.

Didn't the game have nipples way back in Beta? Before the infamous "Nipple Nerf".

I'm all for a larger variety of breast(and other) sliders though.
  4. Wow, SR for tanks? They are likely to come out pretty tough.

Using tanker numbers, they should be in the 40% defense range, before even using IO sets, or weave.

That means they can easily achieve even the incarnate defense cap.

Then throw in SR's passive resist scaling with the tanker's huge HP pool...

Elude is almost overkill at that point, wonder if they'll stick to that, or change it up a bit.

Fire/Thermal for defenders also makes me happy.

Imagine if the Aliens somehow got a Facehugger onto Supes, and well.. a Superman-Alien Hybrid was born!

I have to admit, I thought you were engaging in some epic trolling towards the end, but you have to admit yourself that asking someone to stay with you while you were KOed on the ground in a previously completed section was a little extreme, right?

We also tried to explain how to find us - how to leave the hospital, then to click on the team members name to locate someone who was part of the big group that you could follow. I understand that while you were under a lot of stress that even basic things can be difficult to do, but there's only so much we as other players can do. I would have come and caught you up if I weren't busy drawing Anti-Matter around. But - I have to say, the entire raid was extremely gracious and concerned with your safety, stressing that if you were having health issues to please take care of yourself, and that we wouldn't hold it against you if you had to stay either in the Hospital or leave the raid entirely due to stress.

I provided the detailed instructions to you in tells because I didn't want you going in blind, and I hope that at least giving you an idea of what was going to happen alleviated some of it. From your comments while our team leader got the raid together, it seemed like you were concerned, so I took it upon myself to at least try to help.

No one on the team was really motivated by putting himself above others, but rather coming together to accomplish something great and fun, as a team. And as a team, I again have to stress that everyone was very gracious, even when you made it clear that you would most likely not enjoy yourself.

From your comments before the raid it was clear that you weren't entirely thrilled to be there, but I'll commend you for giving something a shot at least once. However, if you do have a medical issue it's a good thing to let your teams know that before a raid is under way or before you start to exhibit symptoms like you said you did. But as the raid went on, and without any notice that you had these issues during the 20 minutes+ while the team was ready and waiting to start, it honestly seemed like you were trying to troll up a horror story.

It crossed my mind that maybe you had waited until we were sincerely engaged to tell us about your medical condition, and begin asking people to stop what they were doing to stand by you in order to evoke a hostile response - one which I was pleasantly surprised did not come. Everyone was considerate, and with the exception of one comment from me ("..epic troll is epic") there was nothing even remotely negative that went on in league or team chat. I do apologize for thinking you a troll, but I'm confused where the idea that people were off focused on winning comes from, when everyone did all they could to accommodate you, short of either stopping the raid entirely or removing you from the league in order to free you from the stress.

However, now that I see there's a post on the forums about this I don't know what to think. It doesn't really match up with what I saw, though.

I was there as well, Paladin speaks the truth.

The raid-leader and several other people were being very helpful in chat with information, tips and the mission plan. It's not like we booted the guy in completely blind.

The trial seemed to go fairly smooth for a Keyes, made quick work of all the towers, and AM went down pretty easily as well. I'm sorry the OP didn't have fun (honestly, I felt the OP had their mind set that they weren't gonna like it from the get-go.. They had some pretty gloom and doom chat going on there while we waited). But the trial wasn't 'bad' as a whole not by a long shot.

During the trial I was on a Kin, and was one of the few people capable of healing. I mentioned over League two or three times that I was capable of healing, but was a Kin, so required a target.

That all being said... I agree that Keyes is really quite hectic. I was pretty lost on my first run, but got the hang of things on my second go. It's really like nothing else in CoH at the moment, far far cry from the standard "engage and kill retarded AI" we've seen in all the Taskforces etc.

I don't see why not.. Though its still quite a hurdle for someone who doesn't have Test set up in advanced.

By the way, PBU does not boost the +def from Cold's shields (due to it having +res as well). Unless something has changed in recent months.

Wasn't sure by your post if you're planning on taking it, but I felt it best to warn ya'.

I agree they should have some sorta preview.. Not sure how they could implement it though, aside from having a "For previews check out our official site for videos!" popup somewhere.. (and also videos on their site or something)

In the mean time, you could always just check em all out via the Test Server, that's what I plan on doing sometime (if its still available?)
  12. The vast majority of teams I'm on are paper/scanner mission teams.

I honestly don't care what content I run, I team for the social aspect of it.

I don't really see the difference in the matter either.. The missions are all practically the same whether your running contact arcs or paper missions (not counting the new stuff, and some outliers). Either click Blinky, Save a person, or clear the map.. The major difference is the stories attached to the Story Arc, which you may or may not have time to read depending on the team.

Though once you're in the 40 range, its not terribly difficult to jump on "AV Mish" teams, people going for their Accolades. Which is all story arcs.

What this would do is allow zombies the ability to shrug off defeat and keep fighting while adding survivibility in the form of the rez's secondary effects. Undead's description would mention the rez as the survival ability.

This would add a good amount of flavor to the set.. But what about buffs and such? Is there any method that the zombies would retain (at the very least) their pet upgrades?

Even with the new end cost of the upgrades, I don't see how having to use them constantly would be any fun.
  14. I'm gonna have to go with the one with the whiter hair and striped clothing.. The image as a whole jumps out and grabs me more than the other one.

Both are very good pieces of work in my opinion though.

Nuuu!!! Now I have that accursed song stuck in me head >,<

I was under the impression that Jackson was going to make The Battle of the Five Armies huge and robust, like.. Battle of Minas Tirith big.. Which I would imagine could take up a large portion of Part II. (That battle being the main reason they extended it to part II, just so they *could* flesh it out)
  17. I'm kind of curious where they plan on cutting the movie off at..

I don't know much about The Hobbit, outside of what I remember from that animated movie, that I haven't seen in years.. But I just can't think of a good place to end Part I.. Aside from maybe the slaying of Smaug, because the Battle of Five Armies comes after that right?

Is there enough stuff post-Smaug to turn into a decent part II?

Allods is one of the games I've tried. The bag space is so freaking small that I had to spend like $19.99 to buy extra bag. $19.99 is more than one month subscription!!!

I am also impatient. If I know there is a new powerset that can be unlocked by doing numerous grinding or can be locked by purchasing, I always choose purchasing. My business is growing and TIME is more valuable to me. I rather spend the money now to try new things than waiting to be unlocked.

It seems like most major games are switching to F2P. I won't trash it for now because if it happens, it happens. I am not so old that I want to resist any new changes. I am going to be open minded for now and see what happens. As long as the VIP portion of it is handled well, and it gives the company more money to develop the game, then I am fine with it.

The article mentions that new "powers" can be purchased? If that means I can buy a new power for an existing powerset, then I'll definitely do it. :P

This is quite common from what I gather. It's the "buying" syndrome. "3 bucks here, 5 bucks there.. oh that's only 2.99, I might as well buy that".. People are more likely to buy $50 worth of stuff in small increments, then smack it all down at once.

Serious F2P players usually end up spending multitudes more per month than if they were to play a Pay-to-play game.. Which is probably why the model has taken off in recent years.

(It's not uncommon for people playing F2P games to spend around 50 bucks per month, and some spend hundreds). I know my little sister once spent about $300 without even realizing it.. Granted shes not the best with money lol.

    The Wow! Factor

    Hmm,

the first time I saw my Robotic MM in action after getting the level 32 upgrade. (this was awhile ago.. not long after CoV's release)

The laser light show and swarm of missiles, leaving fire patches all over.. one of the few things in this game that has actually caused my jaw to drop xD
  21. 400/500 most definitely has OpenGL issues, an Nvidia tech support even said so,

    http://blenderartists.org/forum/show...rmance-problem (double-sided shading is a big culprit)

How much of this carries over to gaming performance, I'm not sure.. but I get hit HARD in Blender with it (like I said, my old 9800 outperforms it)

Do you have a 400/500 series Nvidia card by chance?

They are known to have issues with OpenGL..

While my 470 handles CoH pretty well, it's definitely not handling it as well as it should.. and some other OpenGL programs totally slog it to a crawl. (to the point that a 9800 card performs better)

I do recall hearing about it before even Shrek 3 was out..

So its not like they went "oh no, we're out of Shrek, lets milk Puss in Boots!" They were planning on milking him well before then xD.
  25. ^Just outta curiosity, if a person were to start from level 1 (and thus only have a few insp slots) how do they handle this?

Pop em at the vendor, and run like hell?
