I'm for it.
There would have to be some sort of reward lockout/Diminishing Returns.. and knowing Paragon it would be shared among *all* GMs.
So, using Adamastor as the example, the first GM you slay would yield 10 merits and 5 threads (for 50s), second one (within 20 hours) yields only 5 merits, so on and so fourth. -
Because I find them, along with most melee, quite boring..

Quote:I was gonna post something similar, but you did a much better job ;PAn actual change that I would like to see but would alienate almost everyone?
Get rid of the following ATs entirely:- Tanker
- Brute
- Scrapper
- Stalker
- Defender
- Corruptor
- Blaster
Replace them with the following hybrids, named whatever the heck you want to call them, with any powerset available to either AT being available to the hybrid:- Brute/Tanker hybrid:
- Brute base damage with Fury
- 500% damage cap
- Brute AT modifiers for defense, resistance
- Melee set primary, defense set secondary to build full attack chains earlier
- Brute base hp and Tanker hp cap
- Brute (ie, ST) version of Gauntlet
- Target cap for power "Taunt" raised to 10.
- Scrapper/Stalker hybrid:
- Stalker base damage modifier with current functionality of inherent criticals, both inside and outside of Hide
- 500% damage cap
- Stalker base hp, Scrapper hp cap
- Melee primary, defense secondary
- Hide added as an additional selection in the secondary (10 choices) available at tier 2.
- Scrapper self-buffing modifiers
- Assassin's Strike disappears, so the Scrapper primaries will remain as-is.
- Assassin's Focus turns into an inherent toggle with 0 recharge and 0 endurance cost.
- Assassin's Focus will increase your base critical chance by 10% (to 20% + 3% per teammate in range) on single target attacks and reduce it by 10% (to only the teammate bonus) on AoEs.
- This lets you choose to selectively increase your ST damage at the cost of AoE damage.
- Defender/Corruptor hybrid:
- Corruptor base damage with full versions of both Scourge and Vigilance
- 500% damage cap
- Defender buff/debuff/mez modifiers
- Support primary, ranged damage secondary
- Power shuffling in the secondaries to get t3 ST blast by level 20 for the sets that have them appearing later
- All t9 "nukes" are crashless (see: Fortunata Psychic Wail)
As for Blasters... there isn't a good way to stay within the concept (only do damage plus die a lot), so they just get to make a Dominator (control stuff and still do damage) or the new ranged hybrid instead. That's why I said to keep the full bonus from Vigilance (including the solo/small team damage bonus).
Since this affects every single "free" AT, I'm sure it would impact a huge number of players and offend almost all of them. But we have too many ATs that all do the same thing, and the only reason can come up with that many of them were created was because CoH and CoV were originally marketed as separate games and so they couldn't just revamp the "old" CoH ATs. I think it's a good idea, at least from a future-balance and team role standpoint, but it would never happen this late in the game because people are too attached to their characters. -
A Force Field Defender named "Captain Condom" making sure to hand out free 'protection' to every hero he sees.
Would likely be generic'ed in a heart beat. -
I wish it followed you better as well, or at least ignored collision-detection on PC/NPCs. I hate it when I move ahead for some reason and the darn thing gets stuck behind.

Quote:Don't feel too bad, if the PPM Proc changes make their way through in their current state I will likely retire 2-3 toons, one being a level 50 incarnate.I agree! I love it slotted in Living Shadows, but this is before the upcoming proc changes. The proc is a big part of the build and how I play the toon. I may end up retiring him.
PPM's rules on AoE attacks, coupled with the new recharge rules makes my Time/Rad buzzsaw build a very sad panda.
-Edit
Just read the newest propositions by Synapse, they aren't as drastic as originally planned, but still makes me a bit leery for some powers. -
Quote:The low hitpoints and slower pace are somethings I just can't get into anymore in my old(er) age. If it was 5 years ago I'd be playing them.
I've never really understood why Defender's get less HP than Corruptors. Given that they are generally considered the more "defensive" of the two, you'd think they'd get more if anything.
Then again I don't understand why Corruptors get less values on Aim or Soul Drain..
Regardless, I love them both about equally, and it really depends on what I want to do with my toon. I rolled my Time Manipulation as a Defender because I wanted a "Support-Tank" of sorts, which favored the Defender. Toss in enough procs and the damage was decent enough for my liking. -
Click Mez protection are always on auto, and take priority. This includes Clarion if my squishies have it high enough in tier to be Perma.
Aside from that, Hasten is usually on auto if it is near perma.
If I have two+ clicks that are permeable, I usually auto the one with the lower duration/recharge rate. Such cases would be Domination, Rage, etc. -
I swear this used to be the case for Heroes, was it changed when they revamped the cape mission?

Quote:Indeed, having your IOs level 33 or so makes your build nice and exemp friendly for much of the game's content, while still leaving you with fair enhancement values.
Attuned aside, being able to slot -KB enhancements at lower levels, being able to slot procs sooner, and/or keeping bonuses when exemplared. Not only that, some lower level IOs are more sought after (and therefore cost more) because the supply is so low.
I would also use it for stuff like the PvP Procs, which are currently fairly affordable at level 50, but still a bit too much for my liking at the lower levels. Though the price range would likely equalize if Mini/Maximizers were introduced. -

Quote:Not sure if it is a bug or not, but I too have gotten a few from greys when badge-hunting.Haven't read the thread yet, but I would have sworn Enhancement converters drop from grey cons, even the ones far below your level.
If not, then it must have been a bug when my lvl 43 DP blaster was putting out another fire (thank you, Cryo Rounds) and I had to take down some Hellions, I got 2 during one building fire.
I didn't check to see it they dropped from the fire or from the hellions but I defeated a lot more hellions than fires for 2 to have dropped.
I wouldn't mind converters dropping from greys if they don't already. -
I like the idea, and been hoping for it ever since I saw Converters..
I'd also like it to go either way though, and ya probably cost more than 1 "Maximizer" for large gaps.
I know I'd get a ton of use out of lowering the level of some IO's out there.. I'm one of those screwballs who begins to build IO sets in the mid/late 20s, so I could get a lot of leverage out them. Since sometimes lower level IOs are hard to come buy, where as there are usually lots of "level capped" ones. -
Quote:I wonder if that guy is playing as a preemie now that he can afford his porn and play COH at the same time.I have to bookmark this thread for the laughs the OP is giving me. He's as funny as the guy that demanded the CoH sub fee get lowered because he couldn't afford this game on top of what he spent each month on (his detailed monthly budget of) booze, gambling, pron, and a dozen other sub based video games.

Well damn, didn't get to see it in time ;c
What was it like? I'm guessing the episodes were playing simultaneously, each one in its own little "cell"? -
Aye, somebody somewhere is still paying for said tokens.
Though it does give less incentive for Person B to spend money if Person A is feeding them tokens.
For example,
Let's say Person B needs 3 tokens to grab Celestial before it goes poof. He is about to buy 45 bucks in Points to get them.
Person A says "oh hey, I have 3 spare tokens, you can have them". Person B no longer buys the points.
Paragon still made money off of person A, but no longer made a sell to Person B. -
Quote:That one was my favorite as well.. How stupid can you be?#4 is my favorite.
1) How do you not realize a warship when you see it?
2) If you did realize it, what on earth got it into your head that you could capture a 453 foot ship armed to the teeth with advanced weapons systems and loaded with over 200 highly trained military personnel... with a handful of guys in a dinghy using AK-47s and a couple of RPGs? -
okay, that made me laugh. Especially Capt. America xD
-
Hmm not sure how I feel about this...
I'm not entirely up to date on the PPM, I know how the chances work for Single Target powers, but how do they work in AoE powers right now on Live? are they modified by the target cap like the ATO procs? -
I'd take the original Pink Ranger over any of em =3

I've always liked Married with Children for some reason, even when I was far too young to get 95% of the jokes..

Quote:Glowing is fine, but I'd much rather a feature that allowed us a list of tattoos to choose from and the ability to place them anywhere on the Avatar with a X-Y-Z control axis.
Totally agree.
They might even be able to use the same tech for stuff like chest/cape emblem placement. -
love that clip,
I give the guy mad kudos for not only rescuing his daughters teddy bear, but successfully *shooting* a rebel in the process.. That's deserves some props, seeing as how Stormtroopers generally have worse aim than the LAPD..
