Scoots, the forums hate me or they hate you... I have tried to comment on this thread a couple times now and the post disappears or the forums log me out as I hit "post".

Thought I'd share what I came up with thanks to R-Tech for my fire/shield toon Propellant:


I made her fire blue like propane flames. and the shield is tinted similarly. thanks for the idea R-Tech!

Though I will probably change the boots and colors I LOVE that last one R-Tech! I have been needing another costume for my toon Propellant (fire/shield scrapper) and this may just be the one!

I think it's the voice. They should have adjusted the voice. Plus his head is pretty big on that body still.

1) I was shocked too. Some irony here 1- Junior is not a Jr. (though I'm a IVth) 2- While Junior was available someone has Juni0r... odd right?
2) I'm sure he appreciates the comment! I know I do. It helps me know I'm not just a "my son's awesome" dad.
3) I've been around since '05. Junior had played my account off and on and about two years ago I decided he could have his own account. He recently got his first 50 too!
4) I definitely try to teach Junior that critiques and even criticism is useful. Take something from it. But try to ignore the folks that are just out to be mean (which hasn't been anyone here thank goodness!).
5) I used to draw when I was his age and quit and honestly couldn't draw a decent stick figure now. So when Junior started drawing it peaked my interest again. While I still can't draw I do enjoy working on lines and coloring. Not very well at either but I'm trying and it's something else for us to do together.

Thanks for the compliments Techbot! It's funny, proportions are one thing I figured he would struggle with but he has them down pretty good. Occassionally he will come to me and ask if I think an arm looks too big or what not and we talk through it. He gets frustrated but the fun thing is I can show him how we can adjust some things in photoshop after we scan them. So not only is he learning to draw, he's also getting to learn some Photoshop skills. Win-win.

Thanks again for all the feedback everyone! He is working on a couple pieces now, but Spring Break is over so school work comes first. Hopefully he will have something new up soon!

Well obviously I'm a biased dad and I think this is great! One of the things Junior was interested in was people doing commissions and being able to do that one day. I told him I think he needs to choose a few characters to draw and actually finish them. I wanted him to understand that drawing things for yourself because they are cool isn't as easy as drawing something for someone else. Most people have definite ideas and wants for their character and it's very important to keep those things in mind.

So I encouraged some gift art. I chose British Hero because I think 1) Henri would love it and 2) it's a character that would take Junior out of his comfort zone of robots and muscle dudes. As you can see he decided to bring in the robots/cyborg. I think what he noticed was it was much easier to put detail and make 2.0 the way he wanted than it was to make British Hero look as good. I think it was a good learning lesson for him.

Now as a bonus, I am working on inking this piece. I'm using Cami's vector lines method. So this is becoming a learning experience for us both. Though I definitely have a larger learning curve than he did.


Feel free to comment as I know he NEEDS some critiques in order to get better.

Thanks Syntax42! So another question - what would I be looking to give up in order to replace the Body Mastery with the Fire Mastery for Melt Armor and Fireball? They fit more thematically.

So I used Fury's cheap build as a template. Since it still included the old Stamina and Health I made some changes. I'm not sure they were for the better. Plus one thing I hate is Confront(what was I thinking?). also what Incarnate should I be going for?

Right now my main goal is teaming and running TFs. It's a tough build when it's exemed so I stick to the 50 stuff mostly.

I don't know what the requirements are but my team managed to get it on it first and only try with half the team being a PUG. One guy that was leading by proxy asked us not to click the boxes in the second mish so we didn't. He claimed that not getting the temp powers is what lead to the Master Of... I have no clue but has anyone else heard that or is it the "Don't click Glowies in the Reactor" all over again?

No matter what server you choose look to join that server's biggest Global Chat Channel. It helped me tremendously to level my first 50. Prior to finding that channel I soloed A LOT and had fun. Once I found the big global channel then I teamed a ton and this game became even more fun.

I'm at work and don't have COH on this comp any more otherwise I'd tell you how to find the Global Chat Channels easily - or maybe one of the nice souls above would help me out here! Also I've played WoW and CO and none of those games' comunities can compare to this one. Yes you will find some annoying folks but by and large you will find very helpful and resourceful people, as you can probably tell from the responses.

I think he changed to just Judgement, or planned to, when he held the redesign LJs costume thread.

Bobby's colors are amazing! He did the first colors on Jr's linework a couple years ago. He and Eddy Swan are some of my favorite colorists to watch here on the forums though neither of them post anymore.

Yep found that and it definitely helps. That's why I shouldn't be playing COH, listening to pandora, watching your tutorial AND trying out this stuff in PS.

You'd think this stuff would come easy to me since we use vectors to create clipping paths in photography at work, but that's not my job I just try to watch and learn things when I'm not busy.

Yeah what I'm finding in PS is that they don't have the spots to click and adjust AFTER you've made the line. Which makes it harder to me to get a cleaner line than just using a brush and the tablet.
