Quote:I definitely do have prompts enabled, and I did get a confirm.Did you by any chance have prompts enabled, and get a prompt to confirm the 45,000,000? (As a regular market user I'd be a little surprised if you have those prompts enabled, but one never knows.)
Of course, the confirm has saved me from an extra zero from time to time. Are you on a Mac by chance? I haven't seen this happen on a PC, but when I use my mac to play, I have some weird stuff happen. Like I'll right-click a recipe in my recipe inventory, and it will highlight a recipe that is 2 higher than the one I clicked. Then I'll do it again and it will highlight correctly. Easy way to accidentally delete a valuable recipe instead of a temp power. -
Quote:This seems like an excellent point. Doubly so since TW is so rich with knockdowns, which would provide a decent amount of pseudo-mitigation at melee. At higher levels, most villain groups carry significant defense debuffs. So without defense debuff resistance, what you'll discover is that the soft-capped S/L you're so proud of will vanish in an eyeblink if you jump into battle because S/L doesn't protect against most of those debuffs (they tend to be toxic, psionic or have huge accuracy bonuses against S/L).
Even excluding defense debuffs, the return on S/L defense is extremely low since Electric Armor already has such outstanding resists vs. S/L. When you're only taking 10% damage from a damage type, spending serious effort to cut it down further isn't all that useful.
If you want to invest in a defense category, go for Ranged defense. Electric Armor's weak spots are Psionic, Toxic and Negative. Almost all of those attacks are delivered at range. -
@war - that's a nice build. I'd like to avoid maneuvers and have a travel power, but I'm probably going to try to take a crack at it again and incorporate some more. I was inclined to go with CB over DS because DS seems very weak and CB has the (slightly) faster cast to get me into momentum... but then again, at 3 targets DS is worth more and maybe the defense will be useful. And it's an extra LotG, which is nice. /waffle /waffle /waffle
Thanks tho! -
Quote:There's a pretty big gap between "we can't do a hotfix in an hour because of the risk of regression" and "it takes 2 weeks to make a build that flips a toggle on", as the converter issue was explained.Yes, you're more agile (pardon the development methodology pun), but you're also more open to "bad stuff" due to rapid iteration.
I assume you probably don't like making builds for small fixes, because making builds eats up a ton of engineer and QA time. The product I'm working on went code complete in December and is just shipping this week, so I get it. Any change, no matter how small (our last patch was adding a copyright notice missing in a few files) ends up provoking a full regression test that eats 4 QA man-days, now.
For my part, I'd be a lot happier with more information about when to expect a patch. Not just now, but updated regularly until it arrives. It's not really the waiting that I find frustrating - it's the lack of information about what to expect. -
The enhanced storage (salvage, enh trays, recipes) is by far the best thing puchaseable in the paragon market. They could double the recipe/salvage/ah #s in the market and I'd buy up all the rest in a heartbeat.

Quote:How much profit are you making? It's possible someone moved into your niche because they needed some and noticed you were making a killing.Reclaim my niche in the market. I found an enhancement whose recipe isnt too much work to get ahold of and once crafted was selling for a a nice amount. After enjoying that for a couple weeks someone started selling it for a third of the price. Luckily they cant seem to keep up or they got greedy cause now while it occasionally sells for that 1/3 of what I have mine listed for, now it mostly sells for about 2/3rds. Which still undercuts my price. Supply has also increased to about twice what it used to be back when I first started playing with this particular enhancement.
How do I go about protecting my niche? I already had a couple bids set at 1/3 the price and ended up grabbing one and putting it back on the market for what I usually price it at. But I'm getting tired of seeing all my listings sitting there for weeks now not getting sold and supply doesn't seem to be dropping. So the whole being patient and waiting for whoever else is using this spot on the market to lose steam isnt working. Obviously I need more aggressive tactics. Advice from market masters would be greatly appreciated.
For example, I needed some Call to Arms recipes for one of my characters. I discovered the L30 call to arms recipes were selling for a fortune, but the recipes seemed to be dirt cheap. So instead of buying one set, I put in hundreds of millions in bids on the ones that had big margins. Over the course of months, those filled in and I made a billion or two flipping them. As I added supply, it appeared someone (perhaps the original seller) tried to combat me, so I kept going lower. I'd be fine with a one-off sale or two, but as long as I saw 2-3 in the last 5 lower than my list, I'd move lower.
The raw margins were huge. Like 90%+ in pure profit. Once all the ones I bought ran out, I think the margins shrank to about 1/3 of what they were before. I no longer wanted to bother flipping them, so I haven't bought up more.
Now I doubt that's quite like your case, because I started off only undercutting by a little, but I did keep moving down as needed. But if it's similar to me, then I'd get bored and go away eventually. I generally only liked dealing with either purples or things with a huge volume (certain uncommon recipes).
So it comes down to: what are they doing? If they're willing to do the same work in your niche for less permanently, then you have to undercut, drive them off, so they lose interest and you can raise prices.
I glanced back at call to arms - and case in point, there's a 90% margin available right now on most of the call to arms recipes, or higher. L30 defense aura is recipes 2.5-5m, crafted 50m. acc/dmg/rech, 5m=>50m. So it seems to have recovered. -
Quote:I wasn't trying to sell it at all. I had put in 45,000,000 on an ATO, and intended to list a 2nd ATO for 45m. Somehow I accidentally clicked and listed the Nuc instead.I'm curious what you were trying to sell it for? Generally screwups like that are due to too many or too few zeroes. But you couldn't have been trying to sell it for 5 billion, and 50 million doesn't make any sense either.
I would not have sold it even had I known there was a bid for 2B waiting. -
Quote:Accidentally sold a L53 Nuc for a pittance. Wrong button.
You have sold Nucleolus Exposure.
You got 500,000,000 influence from the Consignment House.
You paid 47,750,000 to the Consignment House.
You paid 2,250,000 to the Consignment House. -
Quote:I'm fairly certain I accidentally called down divine retribution because you left converters out of I22 and haven't patched them in an entire week. We're working on getting the servers back up ASAP. I've been forwarding information along to the NOC as I receive it, so thank you for the reports everyone.
If the downtime lasts much longer, not to worry, I'll throw Ustream up and answer some questions.
Sorry about that. -
Same. And this is on virtue, NOT on one of the servers already said to be down.

I rolled a TW/Elec. It's thematic, so I'm opting to deal with the shortcomings. What I'm wondering is: does it make sense to bother going through the trouble of "soft capping" S/L? And when I say soft capping, I mean that using barrier+agility, I'd always be at at least 45% S/L, but it would only be 40% without barrier. (Obviously a lot more when barrier was just up.)
Having gone through all the trouble to softcap against just S/L on a spec where my secondary provides zero defense of any kind, I end up wondering if it is at all worth it. Still, the idea of 45% S/L while power surge is running is sort of amusing.
Has anyone tried this stunt? Did it feel worthwhile in practice? Is there a better way to go about it?
Note that I've slotted Whirling Smash with 6 EndRed, but that's intended to be the Brute's Fury set, with half catalyzed to get a 7.5% total S/L defense bonus out of the set bonuses.
Here's the build:

Quote:I have a character named Zen who is Katana/SR. I could screencap him ninja running if you'd feel better. I just use ninjarun in lieu of the rocket board when it's a sufficiently short distance that I don't want to put my toggles back on.First thing I think: "I am so sick of seeing Ninja Run on obviously non-ninja characters." I've seen it on everything from animals to wizards to construction workers, but I can't remember a time I've ever actually seen it on a ninja.
Sadly, the fine fellow in the screenshot in the OP isn't slated to get his travel power until 41, poor guy. -

says the mezresist cap was raised to 10,000%. (ie, mez duration would be <1% duration). Formula being duration = 1 / (1 + mezresist percentage).
Can anyone confirm/deny/has tested? -
The hivemind consensus on I22 was almost dead on. What's your guess on how long it will take for them to release this next patch that will add converters in? Will it have to go to beta first?
I figure this is probably the subforum of the most people thinking what I'm thinking - that I'd have rather had Converters go live and Dark Astoria have "a setting on the beta server which it to work correctly in that environment, but not on live".
So, Marketeers, you're good at figuring out prices. What's your patch guess? -
Mathematically speaking, fyi, it takes ~5 uses (15 converters) to "hit" a specific IO, on average, within a set. To target a specific set for a 10-set class (purples) takes ~9 converters to land on it. To get from any "bad" purple (6 sets) to any "good" purple (4 sets) takes ~2.25. To target a specific set for an 8-set class (PvP IOs), takes an average of 7.
So to answer this question:
Quote:The answer is yes, and it will cost you 22 converters on average, with a very high variance.Say I have a PVP Hold IO, Acc/Recharge level 13.
Can I use Converters to change that to a Gladitor's Armor level 13 3%/-Teleport Proc? -
Quote:I can be bribed. I'll go vote as soon as you tell me when the next patch is out. Quote:Why does every thread about converters devolve into discussion about Staff fighting? They flat out said, MULTIPLE TIMES, that Staff Fighting and Beast Mastery were NOT PART OF ISSUE 22.
So, for those upset/sad about that, I have no sympathy.
This is the market forum. We're here for your converters. Hand over a patch, or this kitten gets it. -
Quote:I'd like to know if that's on the soon/real soon/imminent scale or more generically soon.
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: For those asking, we have just confirmed that Enhancement converters did not go live today, but should be included in a publish to live servers Soon (tm) -
Indeed. They specifically said on the FB Q&A that converters were going live with I22.
