Quote:Hehe, you caught me Bill. I apparently don't play AE and never considered this.Option 3 - Play AE arcs. Get tickets. For commons, run random rolls at the level/type of salvage you need. You'll probably get it, and plenty of other stuff to use and/or sell. Uncommon or rare, buy directly.

Salvage prices.
Little hint 1: place a bid, go play, come back, get salvage. I had crafters on both sides before the merger and that is all I did to keep the SG bins maxed out in IOs. Billions, let alone millions, not required.
Little hint 2: Try looking at all those recipes at lvl50 that "no one" buys. Place 5 inf bid for 10, wait a few seconds, collect the 10 recipes, walk over to store (AP is good spot as example), sell at 5K or more a piece. Repeat. Take profit and buy salvage.
Grand total salvage I have stored on all my toons (including my lowly 26 50's): 0
Salvage is easy to get unless, of course, the OP buys at HAVEITNOW!!!! prices. You don't have to get gouged or spend more than the recipe. Just have patience.
/unsigned to the OP. We have access to an incredible amount of storage already and don't want to see it nerfed (for others since I don't store any salvage and yet keep many bins on blue and red packed with IOs). -
Best wishes Castle. The game is taking new directions and sorry to hear you won't be part of it. I thought your posts were always helpful.

Yeah, I am thinking if it takes this much for alpha, and for common/uncommon - what could be possibly next? I have about 7 or 8 slotted with either common or uncommon. Many more to go. I don't think I even have the time to bother with them. I took the strategy to diversify - a buffer, damage, debuffer, etc. so that I can bring something to the new TFs.
My two big thoughts (or concerns) are:
- What happens at later like at the 3rd or 4th slots TF-wise? Apex and Tin Mage are great, but I would bet they will be designed us having slots filled for them (Gah! How about the Omega slot!!!).
- What happens to the old content? Are we going to laugh at the ITF/LGTF? Solo LRSF?
My head hurts... -
<50/50 Being on. Will take an alt spot. I think my /kin corr or /traps corr if I am.

Well SS is already at the speed cap. Fly is limited to how fast it can go. TP is the fastest. Just what would this speed boost do if everything is capped out? Environment interactions sound good (like tearing up concrete), but is there any precedent on this? This sounds like the running on water issue with SS all over again. Eh, just not sure what to make of this.
As for the second, always /unsigned for me at least. This is an easy game and getting easier with things like inherent fitness. Making decisions on builds is one of the last challenges in the game. One thread I brought up just what power at 49 requires 6 slots? With IOs, frankenslot. With s/HO's, you can be creative to maximize slotting. Now with Incarnate slotting, just what is the need for these extra slots? "Just because" gets old. -
Good times on both TFs. Was able to slot up my cold def with shards to spare.
Next two Tuesday are sorta hectic for me due to holiday stuff. So have if I can't make it. -
On the one hand, not opposed to the OP. Or even something like a tab in your personal info listing TFs and last date/time.
But on the other hand, for me, I maybe play a couple of hours a night for 1 toon, a few nights per week. Not too much to remember and very unlikely I will run into the time restrictions. Am I a typical player or extreme or other? Not sure. So I wonder how much utility this will have after the wave of shard grabbing dies down. -
So many choices - brute, D3 def, MM (heh), WS (heh heh), kin def (nah!), cold def (no way!). SHamster, where do you get your dice from?

I agree that maybe the common/frequent suggestions could be updated more often or have a general sticky on more general ones - Full AT respecs, vehicles, World PvP, etc.
Or at least big letters saying SEARCH BEFORE POSTING. I don't mind a repeated suggested if it adds something new/different to a previous suggestion. People have ideas and want to post, which is great for the game. But when a post is made and uses the exact same logic/idea of a previous thread with a dozen plus pages explaining why it is a bad suggestion and not use any of those responses to refine the suggestion, ugh... -
/unsigned. I can count on 1 finger zoning is dangerous - a late red side mission in Mercy, when you are attacked when entering. Solution is just prepare beforehand, like everything else in the game.
As for Apex, you get a little warning before the attacks occurs. All you are doing is just going through the door after someone who tripped off the attack. Be faster or go together, problem solved. It is easy to get through the door and back in the battle. Try learning more about the Apex TF before making wild claims.
And as usual, what game are you playing? My support toons have never experience these problems you post about, maybe because I prepare ahead and don't rush like a lemming and crying the game is broke or unfair afterwards. -
Hmmm, something... Most likely my brute since I have not run it I think with her. If not, another dark def - GASP!!!

Depending on time and side, sure, I would be interested.

Stormy
Don't know how to say but you have no clue what you are talking about. You say on one hand that there should be no cases, yet then that it is statistically possible. That is called a normal distribution curve. Try googling bell shaped curve and learn about the extremes.
Seriously, go back to that player and get him to the number of 14 shards nights he has. If it is constant, proof of a problem. Otherwise he got a lucky night.
And to echo Aett, bring in real numbers and data, like running a dozen ITFs and showing the drop rates and min/max numbers. Then there can a discussions of trends and such. An N of 1 shows nothing. -
Quote:This.Completely random is also completely fair in the long run. Sure, you might run into patches of bad luck, but you'll also run into patches of equally good luck.
My experience with the game is times of good drops, bad drops, and everything in the middle. Why don't you go back to that lucky player in a month and ask it is going for drops? I will bet it will be different. -
Good time. With holiday stuff approaching, can only say pencil me in for next week. Most likely I will be there, but holiday cheer > Voo

Was planning on bringing my cold corr on this. Or my rad corr.

New Issue. Hey look! New powerset!!! Respec AT.
Next New Issue rolls along, Hey look! New powerset!!! What's the deal???? I can't Respec AT again??? I know, I will go to the suggestion forums.... -
Not opposed to the suggestion, but I would like to see some more time with this issue so that we can get some "real numbers" here. It may be slow, but if they increase the rate, then they run the risk of too many (all?) players have uncommon Alpha slots, plus a pile of shards just ready to be converted. Add that if there is an open beta, players will see what the next round of requirements are for shards/slots, stockpile them and be fully slotted 5 min after the issue comes out.
Again, not a bad idea, but I would place a bet that the devs are watching, checking who is naughty or ni....er gathering data on drops and slotting for datamining later and adjust the rates up (or down) as needed, based on how fast they want us to slot up. -
My goal is to unlock Alpha on all my 50's, eventually. I have a few unlocked now and running TFs and such so to slot. The rest I will run on those slow nights or times waiting on new issues.
What I think will happen for me is that although they all get unlocked, as issues come out, and more incarnate slots open, I will probably focus on fewer and fewer toons to complete whatever it takes to slot the next slot. The result will be me having 50's with an unlocked Alpha slot but nothing slotted, all the way to one or few with the Omega slotted (like I even know what it will take to get that), and the rest somewhere in between. -
WEIRD!!!!!!!! And I was about to mail you a Christmas card...
Anyhow, I should be around this Tuesday. Will bring whatever. RL has been crazy with additional work stuff going on for the end of year rush. So hopefully can make most of these, or at least into Spring when things should be smooth again.
I was planning on running some redside SFs toon for Beej at some point too. Been meaning to finish those SF badges on her, apart from the MLRSF some day. -
Egads! Can I post yet? What is with the forums???
Anyhow, those were defenitely different, but very fun. I am now leaning towards Tin Mage TF being possibly my favorite TF now.
I still want to try something on getting around that Halberd ground attack. I think a tight group moving in one direction will be better. I died a number of times trying to avoid the attack only to run to a spot where someone just was and get hit by their attack, above or below. -
Also the standard make sure arcs are not filled/open and room for missions. I saw some people in beta that said that they had to clear old stuff to get the mender to talk to them.

I would say so. All blaster LGTF. Completed under 2 hours. Lots of deaths? Over a 100 as I recall.
