Level 50 - making it more
Well SS is already at the speed cap. Fly is limited to how fast it can go. TP is the fastest. Just what would this speed boost do if everything is capped out? Environment interactions sound good (like tearing up concrete), but is there any precedent on this? This sounds like the running on water issue with SS all over again. Eh, just not sure what to make of this.
As for the second, always /unsigned for me at least. This is an easy game and getting easier with things like inherent fitness. Making decisions on builds is one of the last challenges in the game. One thread I brought up just what power at 49 requires 6 slots? With IOs, frankenslot. With s/HO's, you can be creative to maximize slotting. Now with Incarnate slotting, just what is the need for these extra slots? "Just because" gets old.
Nothing has actually changed. The reason your new powers seem "meager" and "lacking" is because they're replacing powers that you never slotted before (or at most, spent 2 slots on for Stamina).
As for making level 50 more -- have you actually not noticed the Incarnate System?

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...

Well if things are capped out, then maybe we could exspand the powers in different ways.
Give teleport the option to teleport up to the 2nd neighboring zone directly from where they are.
Give Super Speed a much higher jump height
Super Jump a faster jump
Flight, IDK maybe teleport to the 1st neighboring zone?
As to the incarnate system. Yeah getting this is nice, but in some way this just seems like more leveling. Perhaps all I want is something little and symbolic.
Good points. As to the other comment, no I am not talking about adding a series of new powers, just one.

Think I'm gonna leave this thread now before I say something banworthy.

So you want more powers/enhancement slots/other stuff but you don't want to have to do anything to get them.

So you get 3 slots, and can get your alpha slot eventually. Yes I am glad we have something more we can do with our characters. This is great.
All I am trying to purpose that we replace the level 50 Epic Archetypes that got knocked down to 20 with some bit of graphics, maybe a power, to go with what ever transportation power we have.
I get you don't like the idea, that is fine, but your attempt at saying your getting more for nothing is a very crafty put straw man argument.
I am clearly saying that I don't think we are getting enough for hitting 50. Sorry I am a little disappointed. The approx. 3 second flashy animation at the point of leveling just does not linger around for... well much more than 3 seconds. (see I can straw man too, some what)
A little something to be able to show off that you are now level 50 past being in a team using a wide verity of powers does nothing for the toon's impression in passing by in a zone.
Personally, my favorite would be the effects of this epic power booster on flying. You are at the market with you level 10-20 toon and you here this buzzing behind you, as you look you look to see the toon suddenly and quietly move to the distance flying, already gone with the wind warping around him like he is in a air tunnel with it forming rings in his wake, you hear a boom. (Grant-it this probably isn't possible, but it would be ideal)
Basically I want something so that level 50s can show they are that level in passing. Maybe that is asking too much, but I thought I would ask. Maybe this can be added to when they unlock all of their incarnate slots. I want our epic toons to stand out as being epic.
You keep saying 3 slots. How do you arrive at that number? We got 4 powers when Fitness went inherent and each one came with a slot.
Swift - 1 slot
Hurdle - 1 slot
Health - 1 slot
Stamina - 1 slot
1+1+1+1=4
Or are you just saying
I was thinking about how we now have 4 new powers that we all get for free, and the meager 3 last slots seems a little... lacking. |
The truth is that when Fitness went inherent, 4 additional slots were added to our builds. The slots just happen to be preassigned to the Fitness powers. That means that anyone that used to use Fitness now has 4 slots from their original builds that they can assign to other powers.
And what does this mean to the people that weren't using Fitness in their builds? Why they got 4 free powers and slots which makes those characters that much more powerful.
It's kind of funny to watch you twist being given 4 free powers and slots into something inadequate.

I think he means the last three slots from leveling to 50, when he says "meager 3 last slots".
With that said, I don't really get behind making 50 "special". I don't really find there to be a need for it, though I'm always open to reviewing new ideas for interesting points or ideas. Unfortunately, I don't really see anything worthy within this idea.

Yeah I guess it's possible that he's referring to that but I still think it's ignoring the 4 slots we are either getting for free with the Fitness pool on non fitness builds or the 4 slots that are freed up on builds that had Fitness previously chosen.
Kind of like telling us to ignore the 4 slots over here and just look at the last 3 slots we get at level 50.

Now, I will definitely support adding six slots to level 50 as opposed to three, but...
If the intention is to make level 50 something more, isn't that what the whole of the Incarnate system is for? I mean, you hit level 50 and BAM! Mender Ramiel has requested to speak with you. Much better than what we had before, which amounted to a "Congratulations! Game Over." screen.

i think that befor ethe incarnate system and I19 in general this would be an "ok" idea...now tho with the Alpha slot tip of the iceberg as it may, i am pretty sure that there will be bigger better faster cooler things coming along so be patient !

I got ideas, one of which I think might be new to share with you.
1. Speed Booster! Have an innate power granted to where your movement speed is upped temporarily and for a very short time, by a LOT! No matter the type of movement being used they all of a sudden move at epic speeds for a short boost. I got this idea from watching Iron Man and various anime where a show of power is commonly a sudden nitro-like speed boost. So what better symboligy for reaching a higher level of heroism than this. We could add effects that are left behind in your wake. Concrete of the city grounds crumbled and piled to the sides; water splashed up and waving away; air seeming to wave out in a similar fashion; teleporting would have a lingering large burst of energy accompanied with a phantom image; or a series of energy types leaving a trail of your path. unlike the current supper run auras, these would linger just a bit more. I know this might be a bit taxing on the system, so having this be a very long recharge would probably be a necessity, once every 5 hours suggested.
2. (the most common) Up the slots granted to 5 or 6 rather than 3.
