  1. Let me know when you want to run (once they go Live) and I'll try to be there on either my Empath or Dominator.

The Chance for Placate in Fortunata Hypnosis does not cause aggro, assuming the Sleep power doesn't to begin with. It will sometime cause chatty NPCs to talk if it fires, but does not aggro.
  3. Team #2 had bad luck with the first attempt, well first 2 attempts. We restarted after one of our Scrappers decided to run ahead of the group without their toggles on during the first mission. Second attempt failed in the third mission when a squishy hit a lag spike and got shakespeared to death while trying to get back to the bridge. We decided to just complete it after that and half the team logged off afterwards.

Wandering Samurai, Teal Tabby, Luchs. and I merged with the remains of team 1 for the final runs.

    Your Top 5

    1. Trash the current player character models and start from scratch. Ultra Mode did wonders for some of the game's environments, but did almost nothing for character models. When a reviewer claims CoX looks its age, they're referring to the character models and limitations of the engine. Even a non-avatar-based MMO developer realized they needed more to their creator and revamped the entire thing, even though almost 100% of the game is flying a spaceship and not hunting Rikti on foot. And then there's this game's character creator.... Why are we still dealing with seven-year-old-plus character model engine restrictions in a game touted as the "king" of customization?

    2. Will go with je_saist's PvP "revamp" idea. Cut it out of CoX entirely, create a spin off title using a studio that actually has experience with PvP. CoX was first and foremost a PvE game centered on teaming. It's the reason I originally picked it up off the shelf at Wal-Mart. Not every game needs PvP.

    3. Investigate different options for Incarnate material/crafting/etc. Praetoria is pretty to look at and some of the stories are decent, but for the most part Ambushville just isn't worthy of the attention it's getting (not "Epic" enough for wannabe godlings, IMO). Some other form of acquisition would be a good start as well; Incarnates as Invention System v2.0 leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    4. Finish everything the Development team has decided to let fall to the wayside. Total power customization; primaries, secondaries, pools, epics, patrons, Incarnates, everything. Add content to "abandoned" zones; revamp content in dire need of it. Finish storylines that are still hanging out there unfinished.

    5. Try to wrestle control of the game back from Marketing. Probably impossible at this point, but it would be worth a try.

Killing the Nictus is actually faster than killing Rom, due to the delayed resurrection time. Rom-Nictus-Nictus-Rom is the new "speed strategy", I believe. Bring enough AoE and they may die simultaneously anyway. Most "speed" teams don't even bother to try to break Rom these days.

Aggro Romulus (and only Romulus) right as he spawns, before he links to his Nictus pets. This makes it so those Nictus don't follow him around the map, healing and spamming AoE damage. MB usually pulls Rom all the way up the hill (still keeping line of sight on the Nictus), others usually just pull him to the middle of the courtyard. The important thing to remember is to keep him in line of sight of the Nictus or else he won't resurrect and auto-defeat them himself.

It's a useful strategy for a team of mostly squishies, a low damage team, and/or a Master Of run, but it's rather slow for a "speed" ITF.

Handy for self info (if nothing is selected) or for the info of anything you have targeted otherwise!
    /bind decimal "getglobalname $target$$info"

Use the decimal point on the 10-key to get a target's global name and the character's info. If nothing is selected, you'll just get your info (and an error message that $target isn't online or hidden).
  9. There's a Rogue tip mission that has you stealing an item from Wyvern, spawning 3 ambushes afterwards. The ambushes are Legacy Chain, Longbow, and PPD, and all 3 con as enemies to the Wyvern inside the mission. If you stealth to the glowie, the Wyvern will kill everything for you, lol. Always fun.

Similarly, in the Rogue morality mission with the Skyraiders platform, Mangle, Hollow Point, and Frostfire, if you have enough stealth and the Skyraiders are close enough to Frostfire after you talk to/engage him, he'll aggro to them instead of you.

  12. Sign me up as TBA. I may bring a lowbie that I know can handle the Cims or I may bring something that laughs at Cims. Dunno.
  13. Rolled a new Stalker red-side, enter Break Out. Claim all my veteran rewards, set up my power trays and UI how I like them, turn on my toggles, and hit Secondary Mutation. Now I'm standing in Break Out as a Rikti Monkey.

Not a good sign of things to come for that character....

    (Cue "Devs hate villains"/"lolStalker" replies....)
  14. Sign me up as TBA. I'll probably be on a lowbie of some sort for EXP sake.....
  15. Paragon

    Best AoE

It's a tad silly and a heck of an Endurance hog, but an Elec/Fire/Leviathan Blaster is a ridiculous AoE monster.

BU+Aim, Bile Spray --> jump into the mob while using Ball Lightning --> Fire Sword Circle --> Combustion --> Short Circuit

Throw Burn and/or Consume in there at some point if you want.

Of course, surviving a ranged alpha followed by a lot of melee is another task entirely..... ;p
  16. Sign me up as TBA, though I'll probably end up bringing a Tanker of some kind (unless someone signs up as one).
  17. Sorry I was a no show (if you all ran sans Cap). I got side tracked and it was well passed the starting time before I even looked at a clock.... Hope it went well (if you ran).
  18. Short answer: yes, delay the Lore slot as long as necessary to include a wide variety of pet skins/options.

    Long answer: opinionated response follows.

City of Heroes used to be the customization MMOG. The only MMOGs that used to have more customization options were virtual worlds rooted in life simulation, such as Second Life or Twinity. This isn't quite true anymore and certain other MMOGs on the horizon may leave Paragon Studios in the dust, customization-wise. Yes, I realize the graphics engine is seven years old. However, this didn't use to stop our development team; now they just fall back on that fact like a crutch.

In my opinion, in the last few years our development team has gotten lazy. They no longer take the time necessary to allow new parts and pieces added to the game to be fully customizable and half-*** power animation and color customization. They seem to be releasing content that is clearly meant to simply pacify the vocal minority and get stuff out the door ASAP. Ever since Architect Entertainment went live, the writing of main storyline content has become abysmal (but some of the Tip missions are well written) and they seem to be pushing more and more onto the player characters, reducing our "customization" options even further.

City of used to be a game built upon customization. Can we get back to that?
  19. Go ahead and add me to the alt list. I'll show up on a Tank-type of some sort, but I doubt you'll need me.

My problem is that almost all of my 50s already have at least 1 Notice and the 5 toons I want a tier 4 on already have the 4 Notices they need. So yeah, all I really need are Shards, which I get on the speed LGTFs/ITFs I do almost every day.....

As far as building 1 of each tree, I don't see the point. The alpha slot is meant to patch that one glaring hole in your build, which can easily be found using Mids or simply through playing the toon. 99% of the time my melee toons (almost exclusively IO'd for +defense) need Cardiac, while my squishies (almost exclusively IO'd for +Recharge) need either Cardiac (Blaster types) or Spiritual (support types). My Mind Dom is my only exception; she has Musculature (she didn't need any more recharge or end reduction....) since her primary powers' IO sets add jack squat to their damage.
  21. Go ahead and sign me up as TBA. I'm not sure who will still need a Notice/shards by then.....
  22. Only question I have: will our City of accounts now be as vulnerable to hacking/theft as Aion accounts? Or is the new launcher not connected to the log-in server in any way, shape, or form?
  23. Sign me up as an alt, TBA. I've got the Mo badge on all the toons that "need" it, but I'll be around if you need more people.
  24. Sign me up on Krystal Cerinia (DP/Dark Corr).
