You can use your server's global help channel, by typing /hc your message.
I'd also suggest joining the Mentor Project global channel, which is mentioned in my signature below. It is a cross-server channel, and there are always experienced players available to answer questions. -

Quote:I'll be happy to help you with your builds. One billion inf each, please...Yes, I am asking someone to do all the work for me. It might be lazy but I'm clueless to making builds. If you don't want to do it then just don't post. Thats the reason I said in my previous post ( If you like making builds ) if not don't worry about it. I know it takes time to level to 50 lol I have several other 50s I'm not expecting to be "Uber" I just want a build thats good and slotted to the max. About the powers, Really come on! How many different ways can you heal someone. I'm guessing you need a bit of recharge for the heals n stuff and some damaging attacks to help the team. If you cant help me, I'm sure theres someone out there who can.
If you can't be bothered to put forth any effort at all, or even use the forum Search function, I doubt you'll get a lot of charity here. These type of threads tend to be frowned upon by most posters. -
Quote:I recall a few times where a player or two got overly specific about what they were looking for, which prompted a number of comments from others. It's probably not seen more often because almost nobody on the server is silly enough to start asking for specific builds or whether players have IO's before running a TF, and everyone pretty much knows that 8 competent players can handle anything.I can't recall any example of anyone ever being "openly jeered on global chat" on protector, its not that kind of a place.
Quote:I can recall many many examples of people asking for specific power sets to fill out their task forces, and even more where people alt to what is needed after joining a TF. -
Listen! And understand! je_saist is out there. It can't be bargained with! It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, no matter how many people prove it wrong!

Teams should always consist of a tank, a healer, and 6 DPS...

Quote:I want to try a bloody all-Blaster ITF just to see how far we can push the 'player defeats' meter..oh yeah...forgot about the All Kheld and All Scrapper ITFs that were posted here on the forums, with pictures included. Some time ago I did a All Shields Character ITF, I think I was the only Shield Tank while everyone else were Scrappers, was rather successful as well.
While the ITF is still fun and somewhat challenging, you can still just "throw damage at it till it dies" -
Quote:Your comments below make me wonder the same thing. They are so far outside the reality of my own experience it makes me scratch my head in wonder. This is so far away from my personal experience that I really have to wonder if we're even playing the same game.
Quote:I find neither the ITF nor the LRSF to be easily achieved by just knowing the right strategy. I find both to require combinations of luck and copious use of debuffs to be successful. And, at least in my experience, they require very specific groupings to succeed.
Outside of themed ITF's like all-defender or all-controller, I've never seen one where a "specific grouping" was requested, desired, or required. Here's how we form an ITF on Protector: "ITF forming, level 35+, 7 spots open." That's it. First 7 players that respond get in. Anyone trying to require certain builds or something else ridiculous like that would be openly jeered on global chat.
Quote:I'll add the caveat that I have never possessed nor used (and probably never will possess or use) Warbug Nukes, Shivan summons, or Vanguard Heavies. Such powers aren't really in my characters' themes, and what is required to get them is not really fun for me, so I don't see the point.
Quote:The Mastermind was the worse - her mere presence on the team seemed to have doomed the attempt from the start, as the summoning Nictus counts Mastermind pets as full players and summons extra blooms accordingly. Without Dark to lock down the to-hit of those blooms (and bolster the negative resistance of the party, I'm guessing), it was game over almost before it started. "Don't bring your Mastermind" isn't a 'trick' I'm willing to learn to succeed.
Quote:The fact that, from my experience, Dark Miasma seems to be a requirement for the so-called "end game" content (STF, LGTF, ITF, LRSF, KTF and BSF being what we had before i19) does not jive with the pleasure and flexibility that has been a hallmark of the rest of the game that is purported to be built on (and in practice generally lives up to) the idea that any character contributes enough to get through any challenge. This seems to be slowly becoming less and less the case, and it is troubling.
Quote:Quite frankly, no matter what any of you try to justify, this game becoming more like other MMOs is not a good plan.
Quote:Actually, I'm assuming you're telling my VG-mates to L2P, since I've already stated my own ability to complete the ITF. Regardless of what you think you were saying, the message you did convey was "if you fail the ITF, it's because you (or the people you are with) are bad at this game", which is, in essence, "you (they) need to learn to play". -
I've been in several ITF's with my bots/traps MM without any problems, and I've put together a couple all-mastermind ITF runs on Protector that went off without a hitch...

Quote:LMAO.... Use a bit of tactics, and LOOK down over the edge of the building before exiting through the door to see if it is safe to exit. It ain't exactly rocket science here.My biggest gripe about the Apex TF is that when you come out of the building in the 2nd mission you are insta-killed by the patches because opening the door roots you for 3 seconds. So unless you have someone already on the other side watching the door its pretty much a death trap. Its why I refuse to do the tf again once I have that badge. Its simply not worth my time to die over and over again.

There was another thread about this just recently...

The towers can be caged easily, but the Nictus has extremely high status protection (much higher than normal AV's), and is effectively immune to everything but Sleep effects.

So, the new Megatron is a truck with an alien facehugger attached to it? Meh.
Bring back the Walther P-38. -
I don't know if I can spare a full billion this time around, but I'll throw on what I can tomorrow to join in the fun!

Find somewhere where there are a large number of spawns with gray conning bosses. Defeat the bosses and ignore the trash mobs. Boss rank enemies have a much higher chance of dropping tips than others.

Standard responses to difficult solo situations..
*Use inspirations. If smalls don't do it, use medium or large.
*Temp powers. There are some really powerful temporary powers that a lot of players either don't know about or just never use.
*Ask someone for help. One person is often all that is needed, and there are plenty of players willing to help out for the short time it takes to get through a rough encounter.
Personally, I have yet to find any encounter in this game that cannot be handled solo with either inspirations or temp powers. -
Quote:And once again, you're completely wrong. Of course, that's pretty much to be expected with any of your posts...As it stands right now, any tank that soloed an AV/Hero class opponent without temporary powers would have Castle, Synapse, AND Sunstorm all agreeing to implement a nerf on the very next patch.
One of the factors you have to consider is that very few scrapper / brute builds can generate to required DPS to over-come an AV/Hero class's regeneration rate. A tank, by default, even using the same exact slotting as a scrapper, is going to be down on damage by 30%.
I've soloed several AV's on my Fire/Shield scrapper. AV regen is just under 100hp/sec. Therefore, any build capable of generating more than 100 dps will eventually be able to defeat an AV. It might take a long time if the damage is low enough, but it can be done.
Tanker Fire Melee has 3 attacks with over 100 DPA. Combine that with the unresisted 20% resistance debuff from Bruising, along with a damage boosting Primary like Shield Defense, and it is very possible for a tank to solo an AV. I'd suspect that Kinetic Melee and Dark Melee could also pull it off pretty handily when combined with Shield Defense.
ETA: And if the player is willing to accept using inspirations and temp powers like the Envenomed Dagger (regen debuff), it becomes even easier. -
Do you have 7 open missions? If so, contacts will not give you any more, until you complete or abandon one of your existing missions.
