Does anybody answer broadcasts? I posted a question twice and no one answered. I noticed there is virtually no chatter at all. I also saw the help channel was clogged and I couldn't join? Is this the de rigeur for this server? For this game? How is someone supposed to get help? The GMs may or may not answer but that doesn't help when the quest appears bugged. Just curious

You can use your server's global help channel, by typing /hc your message.

I'd also suggest joining the Mentor Project global channel, which is mentioned in my signature below. It is a cross-server channel, and there are always experienced players available to answer questions.

it depends on the time of day or zone you were in ....also...not too many ppl use the help channel so global channels will give you an exponentially better result

Thanks I will look into the Mentoring Project!

GM response time is highly variable. Like Dark_0mega said it depends on the time of day, and of course how many people are ahead of you.

As for Broadcast, keep in mind that only people who are in the same zone as you can see what you type in Broadcast. If you happen to be in a zone like, say, Brickstown, there's a good chance you're the only person there. If you type /whoall while in a zone you can get a list of everyone who is in the zone (although some people may be hidden and thus won't appear on this list, but it's a good place to start).

"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill

This is something new players sometimes don't realize. They say something in Broadcast and get frustrated that they don't get any response when they are someplace that not a lot of people go to. If no one else is in the zone, no one heard you say it.

If you are in Boomtown, for example, and you say something in Broadcast, it is very likely that no one in the entire game will hear you (Boomtown is notoriously dead).

People gravitated to the global channels to get around the limitation of having to be in the same zone as someone to talk to them. SG chat will reach any character in the same SG as you. A tell can be sent to anyone anywhere, and only that person will hear it. Global channels will reach anyone who is a member of that channel, no matter what character they are playing, what zone they are in, or what server they are on. (You can be on Pinnacle and have a conversation with people playing on Virtue and Liberty)
