Hmmm... The only hero on an all villain team? And he kept asking for wakies? I would've told him to hit Ouro for some more inspirations.

Quote:I must have a different version of the game than you then. I had no problems forming a mid-20's team today that ran successfully for several hours. And this was on Protector, a low pop server. And it was redside. So, tell me again about how it is impossible to find teams...Today i thought it would be easier to find team i was wrong. I've been playing city of heroes since it was in beta. When city of heroes came out you were able to find a team no trouble at all. Now almost 6 years later its almost impossible to find a team. The player base is getting lower and lower soon there will be just enough to fill one server up. Even with Double exp weekend happening now the player base is low. Yes, they gave us new toys to play with this week but still no one is teaming because alot of people own more than one account so they team with themselves. Whats the point? Guess i'll just solo this game just like the other game. Til they give people reason enough to team.
Perhaps you need to work on your teaming skills. -

Quote:Also, legally, tomatoes are a vegetable, thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1893.Depends on how we're classifying the tomato: botanically or culinarily (is that a word)? Botanically speaking, tomato is a berry and thus a fruit, but from a culinary classification, it's a vegetable, as it is more savory than a fruit.
So it depends on which method of classification you're using. -

Quote:Welcome to the game!Hello everyone! I just subbed for COH after wanting to play for a long, long time. Took me a few days to get used to the COH style, especially after playing CO first, but I am LOVING it!
Quote:I have a few questions that hopefully some of you can answer to help me on my way!
1- How do I choose / change my Global friend chat name? I was given one that is the same as my first alt toon, which I wasnt warned about.
Quote:2- Where can I go, closest to Atlas, Galaxy and Mercy Island - to buy a Raptor Pack? Also, any tips on making 10,000 inf as fast as possible to buy one?
Redside, it is much easier, provided you have access to a VG base teleport pad for Grandville. It will drop you in a safe area, and the vendor is a only short & risk-free distance away. There is also a convenient VG base portal nearby as well, allowing you to return quickly.
You can easily get the 10K inf by selling your large inspirations from the tutorial at the consignment house. As an alternative, you can also look for cheap, rare (orange) lvl 50 recipes at WW or the BM, buy them 500 inf or so and then sell them to a NPC vendor for 10K inf.
Quote:3- Is there any way to go back to missions you out level or will I never be able to until I get to use the flashback thing i heard about?

I just went through essentially the same exact scenario as the OP. New PC build, Windows 7 & Radeon 5750 card. Although my issue was the game simply freezing up on me rather than any graphic glitches. Updated drivers and the AMD hotfix worked like a charm for me.

To be honest, you will be much better off hitting up a vendor like Newegg, buying components and putting it together yourself. You will get a much larger bang for your buck that way, and you'll end up saving money in the long run too when the time comes around to upgrade your system.
It's not nearly as complex as most people think it is. If my 62 year old mother can build a PC, anyone can...
There are tons of guides out there covering assembly as well as component selection. Tom's Hardware is a great place to start. -
Quote:That's for sure. An almost ten year old CPU and seven year old video card... Time for an upgrade!

Quote:Were something like this to be implemented, the issue would not be that you cannot participate, it would simply be you CHOOSE not to participate by not making the effort to meet the requirements to do so.that are specifically designed such that someone like me cannot participate..
It is no different than someone complaining that the game is specifically designed that they cannot participate in a Lady Grey Task Force, when their only character is level 25, then refusing to spend the time leveling their character up to meet the minimum level requirement. -
Quote:Well, I was going to say "Welcome", but that was before I finished reading your post all the way through.. Nice way to introduce yourself to the community.I suppose I shouldn't expect an answer, just a string of replies of people saying stuff like "stop whining." But I just want to point out that a good programmer could really improve the functionality of this game.

Quote:All servers are active. I play on Protector and have no shortage of teaming opportunities. Now, having said that, Freedom is generally considered the most active server. Is there a server with active players?
Im online right now and i havent seen one player...
Im playing on freedom. Is this the best choice for most active and populated server? Or is city of heroes dead?
Here's how to solve your teaming problems on ANY server:
*Use your server's global channels. You can find them listed in the server sections here on the forum.
*Find and join an active SG. Same thing. Look here on the forum.
*When you team with other players that have compatible playstyles, add them to global friends.
*FORM YOUR OWN TEAMS!
That's it...
Out of those, 99% of my teams are formed off of nothing more than global channels and global friends.
ETA: Something to keep in mind. Nearly all missions in this game are instanced missions. There may appear to be no players around, simply because they are all inside missions. -

I do. On my AR/EM blaster. Nothing like having an 80' range Flamethrower and Buckshot cone.

You could always free up a power choice by dropping Resuscitate and going with the day job Revive Ally power from the Physician accolade.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Physician_Badge
Quote:Revive Ally Close, Ally Rez
Your time spent studying medicine has gained you access to a medical kit that allows you to revive a nearby fallen ally. Allies revived by this power will be healed for a small portion of their health and be protected from XP Debt for 15 seconds. Additional charges of this power can be earned by logging out in a hospital or university. Recharge: Very Long. -
Quote:Yep, it's me!Thank you all for the very warm welcome. Panzer, is that you!? I told you trying to step my game up, lol.
Quote:Now as far as my build, this is my build; give or take a few changes here and there. Courtesy of the original poster LivingHellFire.
Quote:HOT FEET (TOGGLE) While active, heats the earth in a large area
around you, Slowing nearby foes as they attempt to escape.
Stay away from this one. It's another toggle that will suck your endurance and it'll only slow you down. With the rate you'll be using your powers towards the mid-game this will mean that you'll run out of endurance faster. Take a power pool power instead.
Quote:CHOKING CLOUD (TOGGLE) Nearby foes may be overcome with toxic
radioactive gas, leaving them choking and helpless.
It's a good power, but it's just another toggle you don't need. This power is only usefull in melee and that's the last place you want to be if the mobs aren't held. It's not worth the time or the expense and requires that you be right in the thick before the mobs get held. Not only that but they're liable to aggro before you get off your melee PBAoE holds if they're not already held, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Short story, don't take it, you won't need it and it'll only be another drain on endurance that you desperately need.
These two powers are the cornerstone of a fire/rad controller, whether built for general teaming, missions, or farming. Along with Accelerate Metabolism and the rad debuffs they are the set's core strengths. Fire/rads are about damage, not control. While fire can provide decent control, there are other powersets far better at providing control. It's a huge mistake to try and turn it into a team control set, which it seems that posted build tries to do.
I would consider the following powers to be the primary powers for a basic fire/rad controller.
Fire Control
*Char
*Fire Cages
*Hot Feet
*Flashfire
*Cinders
*Fire Imps
Radiation Emission
*Radiant Aura (No option but to take this)
*Radiation Infection
*Accelerate Metabolism
*Enervating Field
*Lingering Radiation
*Choking Cloud
Quote:Consequently, the build seems to work fine; however, it just doesn't seem to work as well as I like. Granted I am slotting nothing but SOs for now. But still it just doesn't fit me. For starters I want to loose the super jump. I have seen others who seem to do well with it; but bottom line I thank for what I want, super-speed feels a more natural fit.
Super Speed is a natural fit for a fire/rad since you'll want to take Hasten anyway. (Hopefully you won't get stuck in Perez Park again...)
Quote:As far as playstyle, I don't mind running in teams; but, I also want to be able to solo or lead the front in the team. Yet, I am a blaster at heart so ranged does feel more natural for me;
